Brake horsepower and wheel horsepower. Used to differentiate between the power the car makes compared to the engine power after the things with rotational drag slow shit down. This is why people purchase lightened flywheels, drivelines, etc. Not to increase the power of the engine, but the power that makes it to the ground. Make sense?

and to add to shreeveco, wheel horse power is a lot less accurate because if you put on a lighter set of wheels, it will read higher even though the car isnt more powerful, the wheels just turn easier in the dyno.

it's not running a 2jz motor! they actually used a GEN 4 3s-ge motor...aka the BEAMS 3s-ge.

Toyota first manufactured this motor in 1997...only sold in the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) in select vehicles such as the MR2 G and G-Limited, Celica ST202 SS-II and SS-III, and the Caldina.

What's great is that the tC was built on the Caldina frame so the swap is a lot easier than expected.

197 bhp stock...but Ken Gushi's team beefed it up to 400+ hp!!!

Ok, just to clear this up...the tC is based on the Toyota Avensis/Caldina chassis, which is AWD in Japan, and the engine is transversely mounted (sideways.) RS*R made custom mounts and everything to make it longitudally mounted (like a regular RWD.) They swapped in the BEAMS 3S-GE from the JDM Toyota Altezza/Lexus IS200/MR2 and put an HKS GT3037 turbo on it, and it makes around 400 HP.
