Nah its a perfect size tank for that fella he will start growing really fast really soon and in a few months change of tank lol if u give them room and feed it right it shouldnt spike, IF U DONT OVER FEED IT or underfeed it, but nice arow its going to be a big dad LOL

that looks like a very big tank for a samll fish be careful might get a nitriate spike and kills the fish (where is the amonia coming from)
