@darkkaiju899 windows 7 x64 would be a better choice in today's current technology, however, xp x64 is just as great, though if youre running decent hardware, i highly recommend windows 7 x64
@Scouter98 It's hard for me to say. I have some P4's that are 32-bit and I also have a couple of P4's that are 64-bit. To be sure there are 2 ways to do it: get a Windows install disc that is 64-bit and try to boot from it. If it works your PC can run 64-bit. OR, you can pull out your CPU from the motherboard and search google with the model number you find on it.
Seems like there is little to no support for it, Right now I am working on my UMPC Tablet trying to find another OS for it to go along side XP or maybe to even replace it. I just got my wife a Android tablet and all the apps are fun but I can not seem to find a decent port of the X86 version of android with touch or WiFi support. I was going to go with Jolicloud since its a app based cloud OS but it wont load on my Tablet since the CPU, Chip set, and Video card are all VIA.
I have that same case but I'm rocking a AMD 955X4 Black-Edition Running @ 3.7GHz.
My PERSONAL opinion is that XP 64 runs slower and less stable than Win7 64 but thats just from my personal experience.
I also found that a lot of older AMD boards are not fully supported like my server (not my X4). I had Win7 64 and the SATA had NO driver support so I went to WinXp but the 64 edition had some similar problems so I pulled the extra ram and went with WinXP 32bit and all works.
@StoneVideoGames So I see. My personal experience with XP 64 was all positive. In fact, I actually prefer XP 64 to Win 7 64. Well, just the themes that is. I have to admit, even though XP 64 is no longer supported by many companies, it still remains as one of my favorite OS'es to date. Next to that would by Win7 64.
Currently, I'm running on an i7 950 @ 4.0GHz with Win 7 64 installed. Before I purchased Win 7, I had my XP 64 disc available so I used that instead, even then, XP 64 was blazing.

@Scouter98 No, your CPU is x85-only. Only *some* of the later P4 HT CPUs were x64 compatible.
