once in my game there was a huge battle with flamethrowers, mgs, artillery, snipers, infintry, airborne, and medics. A medic ran across a giant field with flames an inch away just to save a airborne trooper who's squad landed on a mine during impact.

@alejeron I put it on easy I think because I wanted to fool around and get some good pictures. I actually had some troubles because it didnt kill my men enough so I had to do it myself.

Ah...Vire River Valley... Blow the bridges, then shred them to bits at the pass. The hill with the church ruins is excellent for snipers, MG nests and/or mortars and arty.

I kinda wish there was a way to get the AI to use less tanks in skirmish mode I just like to keep a variety of units at hand instead of spamming tanks as soon as the AI starts making them.

So do I. Against a computer opponent I place a Goliath on my end of a bridge. When the AI send a tank over the bridge it shoots the Goliath and thereby destroy the bridge the tank is on...

There is limited base building. You build one base and work with that. You train your own units but the game is more focused on unit tactics.

At 0:20, the engineers can blow up bridges using demolitions. How exactly do you do that? I know you can upgrade to the 105mm howitzers, but I haven't seen the charges yet.

In the American HQ you can find the option to research explosives. You can place them in houses and on bridges and when they are placed you get this big red button saying "Detonate me!"... just begging to be pushed...

British Commandos can place their explosives everywhere and the germans use Goliaths.

You build a medic station. Allies build the building as it is (from the same flap as the MG nest and tank traps). Axis must first build a bunker and then upgrade it to a medic station. Build them close to the front as the range is quite limited. You cant move the medics yourself. If a soldier is hurt but not killed within range they will try to run and get him home. When enough soldiers have been saved you get a new squad for free.

The medics dont get shot at by the computer. A player must specify the medic as a target for the medics to get shot (if not by accident by a grenade or 105 barrage that is). See it as a possibility to play dirty ;)

And lets face it. Who doesnt play dirty in war? We only dont hear about the winners doing it as it is the winners who write the history.

they pick them up by themselves, but have a limited range and is therefore quite difficult to use. Not to mention what happends if you build two stations and one dies. Or only the medics get killed. You can end up with one station with 10 medics nowhere near the frontline.
