  • The one issue I disagree with Ron Paul about (and his pro-life stance to a degree). In Australia, Medicare is phenomenal. Every human deserves equal access to medical treatment, and if that means everyone pitching in to make this happen, then so be it. You've got to look after your fellow man. Car insurance, house insurance; sure, they're understandable, but a human life cannot be considered alongside either of these things. A modern society needs to help those who cannot help themselves.

  • While I don't agree with Paul on a lot of things, including this issue. I must say that he is consistent and has good answers for almost any question put to him. He is a politician worthy of respect.

  • Only Dr. Paul has the wisdom of a King Solomon!

  • its sad how many people only listen to mainstream media, if he was a part of main steam media this presidential election would be no doubt in favor of ron paul, fuck you mainsteam media, RON PAUL 2012

  • You call this a digital television capture?

  • i guess this world needs a doctor.

  • Btw, why are all of these Christians so heartless? The Bible says to love one another, to help thy neighbor, to do unto others as you would have done unto you, and that love above all else is important.Love for your fellow man can't coexist w/ this heartless doctrine.Quit calling yourselves Christians and be honest w/ your religous preference; Capitalism.Worship of the "Almighty Dollar" will be this nations downfall.

  • I became sick at 18 and that kept me from getting insurance that would cover my pre-existing illness. I became deathly ill again at 22 and had to cobra out my father's insurance just to be transferred to a hospital that had any chance of helping me. I'm 32 now, disabled and on Medicaid/Medicare.How the hell was I supposed to take care of my bills?Shit happens and sometimes people need help. Why not fix the fucked up insurance system that screwed me into relying on government aid just to live?

  • Not really true. I went to the emergency room with a major problem and was not admitted to the hospital but sent away with a prescription for pain killers. I had frightful symptoms and could barely stand up and I knew the doctors diagnosis was BS. If I hadn't taken the initiative to go to another hospital further away I may have died. That doctor was absolutely negligent and should have run some tests--they knew I had no insurance and he just wanted to get rid of me. The system is broken.

  • I dunno, I'm from Denmark and here we have public health insurance, we pay for medical treatment through our taxes. It works really well, it's not perfect but I don't think that privatising healt care is neccesary. This is probably the only matter where i dissagree with Ron Paul. I don't think that public healtcare gets in the way of personal freedom. It's awesome that he wants so stand by his oth to the constitution, but that shouldn't mean that it's every man for himself. Ron Paul 4 prez!

  • I think he handled that question quite well, wonder what everyone else would have answered with...

  • But the issue is that a Worker at McDonalds can NOT afford a MAJOR Health Policy, and pay rent, and buy food, and to think he/she will ever breed, they definately could not afford kids. In turn the population must all be Doctors or Professionals, and then no one will have anyone to SERVE them Burgers. And if he had such a good job, then WHY didn't he have health care through his job? The issue is rewarding people for what they do, is a far cry from reality.

  • WHO CAN SPEND 200 a 300 a MONTH on Healthcare???

If everybody would have a healthcare insurance (by law) It doesn't NEED to be that expensive!!!

Why is it that medicin and for example female 'the pil' (anti conception) is MORE expensive in the USA than in Europe? They are the same pils/medicin and it's more expensive in the USA than in most Europeancountries who have a social healthcaresystem!!!

So the costs are lower in a SOCIAL system = you know ALL CARE FOR the ones who need it ...

  • Wolf blitzer is being so smug and confident thinking he's trapped ron paul... but he asks the perfect question: Wolf: "should society just let him die" NOOOO Obviously from the spirit of the question you asked wolf, it seems like you would be willing to chip in for this guy who made a really bad choice. And all the other people that are for socialized medicine would be willing to chip in if they're not hypocrites. Society has the free choice to do whatever they want in this scenario.

  • @urwholefamilydied Nailed it. You're too smart for most people, though. Also, wolf and others would probably turn a blind eye like the hypocrites they are

  • @urwholefamilydied Exactly right, if we want freedom, we should have freedom but there should be no inconsistencies, if society wants that person to live than we will help him/her in whatever way we can and not wait for the government to always act on our behalf. Man, I hate watching these ridiculously sensationalised debates!!

  • Only two areas of medicine are becoming cheaper. Plastic surgery and lasik eye surgery. Neither of these procedures are paid for by medicare or medicaid. When you pump money into an industry, you increase the price. The same thing happened to education prices.

  • RON PAUL - RON PAUL

    RON PAUL - RON PAUL

    HE WILL LEGALIZE FREEDOM

  • money is no reason to deny a hungry person food or a sick person medicine.

  • @UnderDogFourSix Then spend your money to help them.

  • @Burningrai Ignorance is bliss i suppose...

  • @UnderDogFourSix In a free society, where people are allowed to keep the fruits of their labor, the people are very generous, over all. They give huge amounts now, when they don't really have the money to spare, think of how much more they will give when they do. Charity is one of the characteristics of humanity, and believe me, there are a lot of people out there who are ready, willing and able to help others in need especially when they aren't being robbed by the govt.

  • When are these debates on?! I really want to see him live! lol

  • If you're going to be debating on a political premise you should be prepared to answer basically any question. They ask hard questions for a reason, this isn't a remedial government class.

  • (cont) people. What usually happens is quite the opposite, violent crime rates plummet when drugs are legalized.

excuse all the typos and format...on my phone typing this.

  • (cont) Look in the mirror everyday and say "I'm so glad crack I illegal because I really don't want to be a crack head"?? if you are that weak minded that you need the government to hold your hand through every decision you make then please do the rest of the country a favor and don't vote on anything ever again.

And also use your head and realize that violent acts are and will still be punishable by law do don't assume that because drugs are legal everyone will run around raping and harming

  • As a former drug user I never once thought to myself "I shouldn't be doing this because it's illegal" people do drugs because they WANT to and weather they are legal or not has no influence on their decision. They only influence the legal stance has on them is their desire to NOT GET CAUGHT. The government has stripped away freedom of choice to do what we want (even if it's harmful) and the assumption that everyone will start doing drugs if they are legalized is so asinine....do you seriously

  • STOP

    INTERRUPTING

    DA MAN!

  • nice try... but you still got OWNED

  • stop wth your ron paul suck up he has a good message but this is low

  • Ron Paul king of rationality

  • @MaRTiiaNN because he wants to LEGALIZE ALL DRUGS that means roofies which means people can buy roofies and use them to drug up girls/boys and rape them in the butthole and disgusting stuff like that. He is a kook and u guys are kooks for liking him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @DbagProfessor youre a fucking idiot.

  • @DbagProfessor It will be a state's rights issue, not a federal one. Paul is merely leaving room for states to vote on it. Do you think any state is going to legalize roofies? Please use common sense and do research. When you assume things like this it hurts people other than yourself. I'm not mad at you. Roofies would be dumb to legalize, but if that's what a state votes on, there is nothing you can do. We aren't babies anymore, and roofies will always be around despite legality issues.

  • @DbagProfessor Your statement is so fucken stupid. Look at the Netherlands...they are shutting down prisons and the crime rate is lowering...all from legalizing drugs. You don't know shit.

  • freakin paul wants to legalize drugs that means kids will get MORE HIGH AND START TO DIE. He be a KOOK why u support an insane canidate, bahaha the day paul will get elected is the day i shit a brick of gold! bahaha

  • @DbagProfessor LOL the people that like drugs are already on drugs you naive ignoramus... Just because drugs are legalized does not mean everybody's gonna run and do drugs! If you want to do it you do it whether it's legal or not in fact that's part of the thrill. But USA has highest incarceration rate in the world solely due to drugs and we can't afford it!! Learn about Prohibition and see how it fucked the country up.

  • @mannyska11 i never said he was my friend i said he was my coworker. lick your own butt hole and make sure u get all the corn

  • @revmysleds id rather him sign the NDAA and cut spending that way especially since we have been at war for about 10years then to cut social security medicare and medicade hell if gop wasnt blocking he could cut the spending we use to give tax breaks to the wealthy

  • FUCK YOU WOLF YOU SUCK YOUR BOSSES COCK, YOU KNOW YOU ASK THESE QUESTIONS FOR BAD PUBLICITY. FUCK FOX, MSNBC,AND OH YEA CNN. I STICK WITH R.T YES R.T RUSSIAN SHIT. IT AT LEAST SHOWS THE REAL ISSUES

  • great answer.

  • 0:54 Notice they cut to audience members thats body language clearly disagrees. I have seen this in almost every debate thus far. They cut to audience members that disapprove his response.. it's also strange that in every example of this... its a man and a women sitting together with the man turns to the women. This is subliminal propaganda and I'm working on a compiling these instances. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the same man appears in two different debates with a different women.

  • This is a complete appeal to emotions, obviously the man who did not want to pay for healthcare should not be given healthcare simply because he didn't want to pay for it. That is creating the new problem of having people who can afford health insurance not paying for it simply because they will be covered without paying for it.

    great audience also

  • Ron Paul! for the win! This man is unique, i dont get why some dumbasses would not like him?

  • @Ddoglatin Because he's a cunt!

  • so you think it is OK that I work my ass off to support my family and yours. grow up this country wasn't created out of laziness. what ever the government gives you the for sure can take it away just the same.

  • @fisherofmen1776 Everyone should pay according to their ability to pay, as and when they can pay, through taxation! Healthcare and education should not depend on an individuals current financial circumstances. If you ever hit hard times, you'll see the sense in that, and consider it fair and good.

  • @killerdalek Funny thing is that your tax dollars educate the doctors so they can get the education in order to charge so much for their services that you cannot afford those services. You subsidize their education so you cannot use their services. Hmmm, how topsy-turvy is that? Seems to me that in times past, if a community needed a doctor, the community would raise the money and pay for the person's med. ed. if he agreed to serve the community [at an affordable price].

  • I'd happily let the Tea Party die!

  • Typical of a Christian American: he's happy for people to die rather than for the state to pay for emergency healthcare. What a shit!

  • So much sense in what he's saying, why does the UK not have someone like him

  • @PenguinMad101 Because there aren't enough wankers in the UK to vote for a shit like him!

  • @killerdalek I think our last several prime ministers would qualify and we got plenty of wankers and idiots over here

  • RICK SANTORUM 2012!!!

  • @wiz9496 Hell no!

  • Should there be a law that requires medical care? Right now I don't have medical care and I'm worried. Should I be arrested for not having any because of our governments irresponsibility and getting us into debt. Having no insurance sucks. Ron Paul isn't even president and people have no medical insurance. Maybe Bush should answer this question. Bush spent money in Iraq claiming democracy would be established while us americans suffer and iraqi's are back to fighting.what a joke

  • @JohnJoonyour didn't Obama try to create a law that requires people to have medical insurance or else they would be arrested??????

  • This question can be answered in numerous ways, it's absurd!

  • Ron Paul is right. You can't save everyone from their stupidity.

  • @JohnJoonyour Ron Paul would be their stupidity if he were elected!

  • What an under-handed question. Did you hear the dumb one's in the audience get sucked right in to that crock of bullshit?

  • i agree with ron paul on many things but think complete freedom is not the answer. Too many people are to stupid to have complete freedom not to mention that others exerting complete freedom will in turn effect your own life. There needs to be a balance or control exerted by experts and hve freedom were it is permitted and will not hurt the well being of the majority

  • @achammer So your saying that the government should strip freedoms from the people and only leave what they feel we have a right to. I think you have a lot to learn about government. There was never complete freedom in this country anyway. If that were the case people would be able to get away with murder with the defense that they were in pursuit of happiness.

  • yes, atleast most americans have enough common sense to realize they need medical insurance. We treat illegal immigrants with medical care, isn't something wrong, but morally right there. Maybe Amercians should have a policy where that individual is on their parents plan until that youngster reaches a mature enough age to realize insurance is important. Otherwise if an immature person was given the option then they would be more inclined to make a stupid mistake...........

  • because they would rather buy convenience items like video games, but in some cases there are people who mature earlier.

  • Socialism has gone too far. In Canada, our much lauded universal health care is sucking Canadians dry in the name of the poor. I sometimes paint apts. in a welfare building. Big flatscreens, expansive cable packages, pot, smokes, iphones are the norm, not the exeption. I'd bet that the price of any of these services would be less than medical insurance. Instead, some social engineers/politicians are calling for internet service to be declared a human right!

Ron Paul 2012 for peace and prosperity!

  • "are you saying society should just let him die?" "YEAHHHH" "YESSS!!" "LET HIM DIE!" lmao crowd.

  • vote:Ron Paul to prevent Corporate-Capitalist-Communism? you deside... our freedoms at stake

  • I agree, a complete low blow. He wanted to trap Paul, to bad for him he wasn't expecting the audience to agree with letting the man die. They have constantly tried to destroy Ron Paul with unfair questions, nonsense allegations, and (I am amazed by this) a complete media shut out. They ignore him and belittle him at every turn. Even if you don't agree with him, he is a United States Congressman, a potential Presidental Candidate, a doctor, and war veteren. Show the man some respect.

  • @MrBartSampson there are no unfair questions. the only despicable thing is, that they ask him with these hard questions, which really shows how much he is behind his decisions and insist on an answer, but when they ask newt gingrich how he can claim to defend the sanctity of marriage when he cheated on his wife multiple time and he doesnt want to answer they accept it

  • RON PAUL 2012!

  • @MinoritiesRlazy thanks nukka

  • ron paul is very "humane" (i dont know another way to explain it). Of course he cares about the US, but he also cares about the world/countries around him.

  • i like ron paul because he doesnt wanna bandaid the problem. he sees the need to get to the root of the issue and bring the cost of healthcare down and make it affordable to us without govt assistance. our govt is spending too much money to bandaid problems instead of fixing them and were in debt to the tune of $15 trillion. people need to realize that at some point we need to have some budget surpluses so we have to find solutions to problems and stop bandaiding them with tax revenues.

  • I dont trust insurance companies or Big pharma!!!!Ron Paul is dead on, VOTE FOR HIM IN 2012!!!!!!!!!WE ARE WAKING UP!!!!!!!

  • I'll show you alternative health care *inhales*

  • Ron Paul's message: take some fucking responsibility for yourself! why do you need the us govt to baby you all your life! grow ups fuckers!!

  • I like some of what Paul preaches, but alot of his followers are ignorant. One of my coworkers loves the guy but lives with his mother who lives off the government.

  • @GRITTYSTACKZ YOUR A BAD FRIEND SHIT. PUTTING YOUR SO CALLED FRIEND DOWN :( LICK MY BUTT HOLE!!!

  • @mannyska11 yea yea are country would be alot worst under every single GOP nominee

  • @GRITTYSTACKZ YOU CAN SUCK MY BALLS BUDDDY!!!

  • @GRITTYSTACKZ How would the country get worse if Ron Paul was made president exactly?

  • @mannyska11 thanks just making a point Paul is better then the other GOP candidates, but they all are horrible Im voting for Obama

  • @GRITTYSTACKZ obama signed the NDAA, I dont think you can't get any worse or any more treasonous than that.

  • Government does not equal "society". As Ron points out, there are different incentives involved in a society where people expect government to take care of them than in a society where people are expected to be responsible for themselves.

  • It isn't that hard a question. the answer is let the guy work that out with the Hospital. It also may determine how much care the hospital will give him. Ron was also suggesting that he shouldn't be forced to by government insurance. He should but his own.

  • we should stop wars and use that money for free medic care,.

  • @andrew09211 ...

  • it totally amazes me how closed mided and brainwashed people can be. How can you not see that mainstream media pumps nothing but massive amounts of bullshit down our throats. the problem is people are scared to accept the truth and would rather live in a dreamland that everything will be ok and "they" have our best interest at heart. I find myself wanting to believein the bullshit but unfortunately i have a mind of my own and can't. The more i learn the more I think were fucked. WAKE UP!!!

  • Wow, he answered that brilliantly.

  • a person is without health coverage because they irresponsibly chose not to buy it. that person get's sick, needs health care. OBVIOUSLY society is to blame for the fact that he does not have insurance. how dare Dr. Paul suggest otherwise.

  • @user62786 that's a good point. my only question would be, what happens to the people who can't afford health care? and surely if it was made into a competitive business, the best service would be the most expensive?

  • @user62786 Please tell me you're being sarcastic. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me that you're being sarcastic.

  • @marsjacobvolta While there are doctors who practice alternative healthcare in the US and it is legal, it is however not legal to treat a cancer patient who is not on chemo

  • Alternative healthcare is any healing practice that does not fit within conventional "western" medicine. This includes acupuncture, holistic medicine, Ayurveda, Naturopathy and more. For instance it is illegal to seek any other forms of cancer treatment other than chemo, radiation and surgery here in the USA. If a person wanted to follow an alternative practice they would have to go to a different country to do so and if a doctor wanted to practice that medicine they would have to do the same.

  • I'm not a Ron Paul expert. Does anyone know what he meant at the end by "legalize alternative healthcare"? Was he talking about that wholistic nonsense or what?

  • @marsjacobvolta

No I don't think he means "wholistic" medicine, although, under a free government people can choose what they want. But I think he was referring to shifting healthcare from the government to the private sector and let the free market set the prices.

  • @marsjacobvolta hes saying we shouldnt have outlawed pro bono work. we made it impossible for a doctor just to give service for free cause of allt he mal practice suits and shit. its one of his only good points if we eliminated that wed be WAY better off but i mean... in america everyone just wants to bitch and sue each other to badly.

  • to smart for his own good, he'd probably be assassinated way before he got to the oval office so maybe the mainstream news is doing him a favor, people tend to be lazy and indifferent and that's the reason he's not president yet.

  • bullshit. do you expect the government (ie everybody else) to fix your shit every time you fuck up? I don't want to live in a country like that.

    oh wait canada.

  • the problem here is that not everyone is born into the same opportunity to provide health care for themselves. there are major societal and cultural problems that hinder ghettos, inner city communities etc. as long as this is the reality of our society, it will never be morally acceptable to have a "fend entirely for yourself" policy. ron paul does bring up some very interesting ideas though.

  • Spread the word and share the videos!!!!

    Ron Paul 2012

  • @Top3channel

yes i 1000000% agree with you

  • Its interesting. It worries me that many Americans are more lazy than they should be with their own health! We allow the government to regulate all medications so we don't have to worry about what we are going to take from a pharmacy. Licenses are helpful because we could trust someone who has studied something but honestly this takes away from our need to actually investigate the medication we need are want to use. What ever happened to the idea "Use at your own risk" ?

  • @TheTruthIsBetter1 Oh but we Americans are not responsible enough to make that decision. We need the government to tell us what is safe and what is not. We need them to tell us that breathing is essential to life. We need them to tell our heart to beat. We are irresponsible children incapable of rational thought without mommy dearest government telling us what to do. Risk? Are you crazy? We can't possibly make that decision for ourselves! That's crazy! Ron Paul 2012!

  • Comment removed

  • Thats the greatest answer i've ever heard!!!!!

  • Please people look up what a true "free market economy" is, and when I say look it up I mean go to a library, and then listen to what he's saying. A free market economy can naturally deal with the inflation and then...wait...what is this...medical care becomes ridiculously affordable. OMG an economic strategy that doesn't even require this so called, evil socialism that can actually take care of a people without putting the burden on a tax payer who's is facing worst economic crisis in history.

  • Here's why he wont work. He wants to cut 1 trillion from the budget in his first year, that would sink this country into a depression worse than the 30s. He would eleminate safety nets like unemployement, which were a major factor into this country not seeing great depression like conditions. He wants to privatize everything, makinf the country for profit, raising the cost of education and such. It is not good. His ideas are pure fantasy, not based off of any real scenarios.

  • typical republicans..

  • I hope God or society lets all the Tea Party members die. That would be quite humorous!

  • @themidgethotel Interesting. They pay for health insurance though so they probably won't have too big of an issue ahead of them.

  • This is very simple. Before I had ins. I had to go to the E.R. All I did was simply set up a payment plan with the hospital. It's that easy.....I dont get all the drama over this.

  • What a fucking answer.

"That's what freedom is, taking risks."

I actually clapped at my computer screen.

  • RON PAUL!!!! FTW

  • My emergency room bill $3200 because I had an issue with my heart that still lingers today. That was in October. I can't afford health insurance til this very moment. If it happens again, who knows how bad it will get. There needs to be alternatives to health care and ways for individuals like me to be able to afford it, without costing the government or further pushing our debt.

  • @shawn362

Sorry for your situation, however I have known people who have set up as little as a 20 dollar a month payment with hospitals for situations such as yours. I have done it....look into it. they are usually very receptive. Sure you will pay interest but at least you are meeting your obligations.

  • @6765BMC Yeah I'm working on that. I don't mind it because it was needed but would have been nice to not have such a enormous bill on my 21 year old shoulder

  • @shawn362

I feel you man. Got my girlfriend...wife now when I was 18....child birth with no ins. Finally got ins. after my boy was 6 months old. Do what you can man, thats anyone can ask. fortunately the economy was booming back in 95...and I was able to work tons of overtime as a plumber in new construction. I could only imagine going through that in this economy. Do what you can.....good luck buddy.....be well

  • @6765BMC

Edit: Forgot to type (pregnant) up there...lol

  • holy shit, what an answer

  • Bring the SPENDING BACK to the STATE and LOCAL LEVELS to REDUCE the COST of CARE

  • It doesn't need to be an impossible question if you don't do what Ron Paul says. Socialism is not a bad thing.

  • @ProphetOfTheTeapot i especially hate the criticism/vilifying of terms like atheist and socialist in the American Mainstream Media

  • Go Ron Paul

  • congressman are you saying that society should just let him die? YESS!! YES!!! YES!!!! No.. 0:53 alternative healthcare ftw hammer, chainsaw, scalpel, lool flatlineeee

  • @NeeKroVal yeah you missed the point..... he meant an alternate medicare policy, different from the one we have in place.

  • so u dont wanna play operation with me?

  • Wait, did he just say that if someone chooses to not have health insurance it's their problem?

I agree with Ron Paul on basically everything, but denying treating pasients because they can't afford insurance doesn't seem right to me. If you can afford it and you choose not to, that's a different matter, but if you can't afford insurance you don't deserve necessary treatment?

  • @frobank regardless of the fact they will treat the patient but they'll pay for it when they get out

  • @lelizondob (read the bottom statement first before this statement) How can you be sure that the individuals in the crowd were actually tea party members? This is a political debate and aside from the media conducting themselves in a bias manner, what is to say that people in the audience "act" out a theatric of callous behavior to coerce an emotional response to trick the mind into disagreement? This could be politics in it's ugliest form.Something to think about & no blame on you.

  • @lelizondob In your comments below the video, was the purpose of this recording more on the emphasis of the crowds reaction to this impossible question, knowing full well what the intent of Wolf Blitzer's query pertained? And secondly, is this an observation on what you feel is your personal criteria of all Tea Party members? I get the feeling that you feel all Ron Paul supporters feel this same way about this impossible question. Curious, what is your take on this question & how do u fund it?

  • Ron's response, "Save the guys life, give him a big bill that is inflated by all the other people who experienced the same thing but declared bankruptcy or dodged payment, and then tell him he should have got a major health care plan from an unregulated industry that may have turned your claim down anyway." In short: Hospitals profit, Health Insurance Agencies profit, guy in question loses everything BUT his life and Ron Paul has done his job of doing nothing as a libertarian in government.

  • @seljuk02 When the constitution is built on ambition to thrive, how can you impose such a broad safty net?

  • @Merther420 Well, I imagine you are speaking about ObamaCare, or maybe welfare, in general, in regards to a "broad safety net." You're probably not speaking of medicare, which your parents, or maybe yourself, enjoy at this moment... right? The constitution is amazing! The possible positions one could create from being a 'constitutionalist' is nothing short of amazing. Those possibilities, throughout history, resulted in today, and have produced the environment we live in. And?

  • Ron Paul is too smart for most dumb Americans... he will likely not be the candidate.

  • @da006 lol ron paul will say that we need to cut taxes as an insentive to keep manufacturing here. that we HAVE to have insentive for people to do things thats why capitalism is great. then he turns around and says, no we need to take care of each other. which is it. we only care about ourselves so lets harness that, or we should take care of each other? the cost is high because people make money off it HE HAS NO SOLUTIONS. work for 10 an hour and pay for health insurance. do it. let him die lol

  • @da006 Yes unfortunately he is for some. Some others are not too dumb, but simply too lazy to check the facts RP has consequently been throwing at them for decades now, all proven to be true.

  • @da006 You are 100% correct.

  • most dumb americans. The whole lot of you are stupid. Nobody votes with their feet and you just sit there taking decades of bullshit.

then you blame each other instead of the rich. God bless america.

  • Ron Paul 2012!

  • Am I the only person who thinks Wolf Blitzer is annoying enough to take into a back alley and beat with a crowbar?
