Guys, the only reason why game rashes is because of QSound. Disable QSound and game will stop crashing at all.

im not sure if its the same for xp, but i finally got the game to work WITHOUT CRASHING AT ALL....EVER!!!!

if you goto start ->run type "regedit"

then goto....

HKEYCURRENTUSER->Software->Bul­lfrog Productions Ltd->Dungeon Keeper II ->Configuration->Video->Engine­ID=2

so i just tried randomly to goto 2 and it worked! if it already says 2 maybe try 4..

the commentary sound is a little jumpy, but the actual gameplay sound/graphics are 100% good. and no crashing! enjoy!

right click on the shortcut, select compability tab, and it the "target" section, at the end, press space and the following commands

(-disable gamma -softwarefilter -32bitdisplay).

should look something like this :

"C:\.......\Bullfrog\Dungeon Keeper II\DKII.exe" -32biteverything -disable gamma -softwarefilter -32bitdisplay

i added these commands cause the game, although playable (no blackness),

was crashing every 15-20 minutes.Uncheck hardware accel, start a skirmish game and NO blackness.

i can run the game on win 7 for about 5-10 min on compatibility mode like vadrigar666 explained and i have to turn the hardware-accleration off, but as i said, i can just play for 10 mins. can anyone help me?

I just installed it on my windows 7 but it doesnt work. I can start the game etc but the background in de option menu doesnt work so i can't see the table and the map. When i start random clicking around i started the 1st level. I can see the command menu to build a lair etc but i can't see the game... any suggestions ? thnx

Home Premium. But I remember now that Dungeon Keeper 2 was able to run on my system, only the map view was screwed up: showed mostly a black screen so I couldn't even see what I was doing in game. But the problem I've descriped was for Dungeon Keeper 1, that doesn't like to start up at all.

just thougt id say if u get the expansion as well on x64 bit vista go on the in game options and disable hardware acceleration otherwise it just black screens with the evil hand of doom hovering
