  • dude you are awsome! i hope to be as good at sign language one day. keep being adorable. :P

  • you don't have to open your mouth, just sign ;}

  • I like a man who can use sign language and you being adorable is a plus point :)

  • Im a guy, and a straight one at that. But Im going to admit that you're very very attractive.

Probably not as straight as I would like to think I am.

  • A question from someone who knows no ASL:

Is "one" supposed to be "flipped" like that, or is that a flourish in the last line (to make it resemble another gesture)?

  • @benjamingeiger

it can be. Song signing is more about flow so little flourishes are often added for emphasis or flow. And whether it is meant to hold that double meaning is up to the signer and the person watching.

  • OmG I loved the part with fruit lol it's funny I'm so desperate to learn asl!!

  • Sometimes you have to stay at home in bed

  • Stephen...this video is amazing, but not really fitting for you. If you actually got into those situations, you'd have to be beating the girls off with a stick. :p Big Bad World has nothing on really handsome men (with talent!).

  • awesome song

  • I've watched this maybe two or three times in the last week, and I have to say I love your acting and emotion. I really like how the first chorus is just angry, that sarcastic little "OK" in the second chorus, and the sense of desperation(?)/depression in the last chorus. It just adds so much to the signing and everything.

  • I love how you've done so many ASL versions to go along with Jonathan Coulton songs. I want to learn sign language, but I don't have a teacher or anyone to practice with. It is a very unique skill to be an interpreter though.

  • Great job. Your videos are always fun to watch, whenever, just because it's not all hand motions, you get facial expressions in there too. And Jonathan Coulton has good music to begin with, so this is just a great video all around. Moar ASL!! :D

  • Is this a continuation of "Future soon" ?

    It sounds like it....

  • @Aresftfun They're by the same artist, but the stories in the songs aren't related...similar, i suppose, but not related.

BTW, this guy REALLY likes Jonathan Coulton..

  • @suggestions8 Yea he even did a live show with him!

  • Love this song. Great job!

  • Where the freak did you learn to sign so well, Dude!?

    ...Or did you teach yourself...

  • well done, man, well done.

  • *Holds out arms* somebody needs a hug...:( STOP LOOKING SO SAD!

  • This was a fantastic job.

Please accept my kudos as a professional 'terp' of 13 years experience.

  • Why do signers tend to push their lips closer to their nose as they sign? I have seen many signers do this, and I'm wondering if it's just coincidental or what.

  • Just occurred to me that I've never heard you speak...

  • Aw. Watching this vid makes me want to give you a hug, a warm blanket, and a cup of cocoa.

  • I feel slightly depressed.

  • I knew that this song was sad, but you got so into character this video made it worse!

  • Yeah. So I'm pretty much addicted to this.

  • Thank you for getting me into Sign Language and Jonathan Coulton. Like seriously. :D

  • Let's get married. I will learn Sign Language so we can gossip without people hearing us.

As long as you promise to keep making these videos. Seriously. Your facial expressions and body language are just amazing.

  • I like these better than most music videos!

  • This guy is so fucking hot :D

  • lol i love all your videos man i dont know anyone who signs and im teaching myself and im using your songs as my main tool to learning signs so thanks alot man :)

  • When my mom first tried to sign to someone she would spell out the and all the words like that and my deaf uncle just told her to drop them all and do limited stuff.

  • Wow, great video man. It took a lot not to cry because I was so into it. :D

  • awesome!

  • heyy! could you do "there she goes"? please?

    Awesome videos! thnx!

  • cozzi, I dont know what are you talking about? that is silly question to ask, by the way I wear hearing aid, make sense?

  • That was awesome ! XD

  • your really good

  • I didn't notice the watch before but now i can't ignore it

  • @geniko29 But it's part of the costume!

  • @geniko29 Qdammit is correct, it was a costume choice. I would not wear a watch if I were interpreting professionally.

  • @CaptainValor @CaptainValor I didn't realize interpreters didn't wear watches professionally. May I ask why that is? I have some speculations but want to make sure I'm not making an ignorant assumption.

I like your choice of costume though, you look sharp =)

  • @CaptainValor Just out of curiosity, why not?

  • @ProfessorClad I assume this is directed at not wearing a wristwatch when interpreting professionally. You're not supposed to wear anything that is distracting, since deaf people rely on sight in order to communicate. (My stepbrother's dad has professionally interpreted before, so my stepbro knows about proper technique/etiquette.)

  • @mindlessdrone1991 thanks for telling me :)

  • @CaptainValor Out of curiosity, why is this an issue?

  • @CaptainValor can I ask why?

  • @geniko29 why not?

  • @geniko29 "All alone by the table of food in my wrinkled suit and my borrowed tie" That's the first line of the song -_- Maybe he likes to get into character.

  • <3 <3

  • oh man, that was so sad.

  • One of my favorite Coulton songs! Glad to see you agree :)

  • Yes!! I wondered when this song would come up.

  • Stephen, your videos are always a pleasure to watch. I like how you get into character with the costumes which only fuels to immersion in the video. It's also been helping me stay in practice for signing since I've moved away from my partners. Can't wait to see more!

  • Sorry, but your watch on your wrist is distracting (dont feel offend okay?)- since I'm deaf, next time take it off! otherwise you did good :)

  • I know this is a personal question, but you mentioned you were deaf and i was just pondering if deaf people still heal certain sounds in their head because a deaf person once told me he hears squeeks and groans in his mind even though he is deaf.

  • By the end I felt so sorry for you, well, for the guy you were portraying I could almost cry! Of course, I also felt guilty for breaking up with you when you did "The Seven Things I Hate About You" when I dhouldn't have felt guilty at all, lol. The camera loves you and you are such a fantastic actor- it won't surprise me to hear you have an agent and get into film or tv someday. Thank you for a great Christmas Present!

PS loved how you couldn't stop bopping and bouncing to the music.

  • Wow two very different songs for December. Both amazing and very Inspiring. Thanks for the videos. Keep it up.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you for introducing me to the amazing Jonathan Coulton, my new favorite singer! I think it takes a person with a certain sense of humor to appreciate him, and I'm glad you're one of them!

  • HA! coolvetica! the best font in the known universe. besides helvetica

  • you wouldn't love helvetica so much if you had to watch a three hour film about it. argh.

it is good design, though. there's no arguing that. :]

  • You are amazing. Your interpreting and your facial expressions are top notch.

  • I've been hoping you'd do 'Big Bad World One' someday! I'd never have expected to see it on Christmas! Thanks for that! Merry Christmas!

  • This is one of the best JoCo songs in my opinion and you just made it better! I love your facial expressions and emotions t the music. Merry Christmas!

  • you have a great grasp of asl structure. love your videos

  • Yay, you fixed your lighting problem.

  • @athenenumphe what do you mean

  • @Ninja9191 I was watching him film this on UStream. He was having lighting problems and I had to go before I saw the outcome. So I was glad that they were fixed.

  • I like how you get into the song and show your expressions. It's funny and cute. LOL.

  • I love that your signing has become more of a dance and the videos have become so expressive! Another great video!
