  • I AM A VIRGIN

  • the hell child in time was in Concerto for Group and Orchestra 24 September 1969 why is it 1977? '77 is when Blackmore in Rainbow

  • Blackmore's blind for love with the blondie. They killed the song.

  • Child in time one of the best songs of D.P. Without Ritchie's perfomance there is no child in......

  • live is live, but not this, its playback...........

  • not that I am overly fond of this version, the voices are beautiful (as they always have been) and i got a huge smile seeing how into the song the crowd got...that's the magic of music. They did pooch the ending though. Sigh.

  • creo que con soldier of fortune hacia una buena version .Atreverse con Child in time es atreverse demasiado...

  • Ich liebe Blackmore.........

  • @johesa68

    i like turtels

  • you'd bedda close yo' aaz ?

    Horrible American accent

    So many Americans speak beautifully

  • A 3:50 version of Child In Time is just wrong this should be at least 10 minutes.

  • Beautiful version by Mrs Night

  • i can just see ian gillian laughing his ass off

  • @ZZJOSH but i see him jealous!:)

  • dude with pink shirt and green tie is queer eye for straight guy

  • What the,,, fleetwood mac with stevie nicks singing chikd in time> with Ricjie Blackmore? It's just wrong.

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • LOVE IT!

  • Those talking about them not being allowed to play this song, you do know that Ritchie Blackmore was in Deep Purple right?

  • I've expected some high pitching and screams from this bitch, but nothing....bleh

I like IG band jazzy version of the song better

  • hahah 0:43 poor guy

  • Nice version. I’m 11 years old and did some blackmore’s night guitar covers. If you wanna check ‘em out…. Cheers from France.

  • Candice Night has a beautiful, magical voice but this song is meant to be sung be only one singer in this world!!!Ian Gillan!!!

  • Definitely MILES AWAY FAR from the early version sung by Gillian. Sounds like a basic pop song. Yuk.

  • Wow - there are some vicious people tearing it up here. I'm a huge Purple fan from way back, and I do like the DP version better, but I think the Ren blend is a nice change up and the softer voice changes the song and takes it to a different place altogether. Oh well, to each his or her own.

  • @dickensbg - It is Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple playing it with his "dirty fingers". Sheez.

  • @roncarla1

You are right.Ritchie is playing here and that's shame.Evidently, he agreed to put all those ridiculous choreography on stage, depriving this fabulous, and very, very sad song of its real meaning. I accept that people who never heard D.P version might like this one, but not a Purple's fans. They laugh at this.

  • @vucic89 Oh is that so? tell you what i have made fucking odyssey in the world of music i have listened to bach, vivaldi, paganini, albinoni, beethoven, mozart, children of bodom, megadeth, deep purple, abba, johnny cash, jethro tull, judas priest, ufo, blacmores night, rainbow, jimi hendrix, cream etc list goes on and on....and believe me im deep purple fan and i don't laugh at this . you sir have strict music taste so you are NOT one to criticise. sorry if my english is not perfect good day sir :)

  • Any chance I get to hear Ritchie play his Strat makes me happy.

  • Good God people! If you don't like her versions then don't watch them! I think her voice is incredible.

  • I don't know how to think about this... Ritchie is for me the best guitar player ever and Candice has a very good voice. But I don't know if anyone can touch this song but Ian Gillan...

Child in Time is one of the greatest masterpieces in music history and nobody is able to sing it as good as Gillan

  • @lw48wp4 I have to agree with you. That's the one thing I will never forgive Blackmore for- getting Gillan kicked out of DP. Coverdale was great, but he was never Gillan. This girl looks hot, sounds great, but again, Gillan ruined that song for future singers- no one will ever do it the way he could.

  • Fuck Bildqualität

  • This chick has amazing voice, however Gillan is even better.

  • Not as good as I remember it from the 70s, but still a good version, except for the end.

  • I like this version and i like the mark boals version on inspiration and i like them for different reasons, if im being honest, i like both versions better than the original. perhaps because they are more polished than the original. either way, different can and sometimes is better. keeping in mind this is one fan's opinion. yours may and probably does vary :)

  • oh please go back to deep purple, and play this with ian gillian, and jon lord

  • @Foko851 i agree. i don't care for steve morse, or this combination. but it's nice he loves his lady. that's cool. but really, deep purple is blackmore. he sold out to this gay shit, like plant did. I mean i could have seen deep purple tonight with gillan but no ritchie, no thanks.

  • with all respect...this song shouldn`t be touched by these looney tune Yentas

  • @professorFloyd I put this vid up because I knew people would either love or hate it. I'm very open minded and like it because it's slightly different.

  • @TarantulaHand

I'm not open minded in the slightest, but this is pure genius. Blackmore is f'n brilliant.

  • @TarantulaHand

"Slightly different" - extremely euphemistic. ;)

  • @professorFloyd With all due respect mate, it's his song, so he's perfectly entitled to do what he wants to it. This is a different take on a classic and they do a very reasonable attempt at it, so take it for what it is, enjoy and move on.

  • @asparak the last time I checked..it was democracy...anyhow it`s like Elvis Presley singing Black Sabbath, it is fucking silly, Ritchie still the best, move on

  • Comment removed

  • @professorFloyd I'm asking me if you know who Ritchie Blackmore is....an maybe in which he played in, let's say, in 1969/1970. But maybe you don't like any cover-versions of any songs ?

  • @maddrummer1980 I happened to be a musician as well, also met Ritchie several times when he was in Rainbow.......maybe you don`t know who Deep Purple was

  • @professorFloyd Did you meet Dio (rip) also?

  • @professorFloyd I pretty sure that Ritchie Blackmore has every right to play his old bands song. Besides, this version sounds amazing!

  • @AkiraFollower REALLY?

  • @dickensbg fuk ya

  • @professorFloyd looney yentas???? he created the damn song you ignorant fool

  • @wolfshade1979 Not really. Jon Lord borrowed it from a riff featured in a song by the band It's a Beautiful Day, called "Bombay Calling". Ian Gillian wrote the vocal melody and lyrics. However; in my opinion Mr. Blackmoore can play any damn thing he wants to.

  • @professorFloyd this band can touch any song they want and make it their own

  • Mr. Gillan definitely is missing! Nice try anyway...

  • Nice attempt, but not even close as in not even 1% of the greatness of Deep Purple's version of the best song ever written.

  • This is fun :D Three singers could not sing like one man :D Ian Gillan This band sucks sry Mr. Blackmore

  • sounds kind of like smoke on the watur?

  • the ending was crazy! I mean really of crazy people! WTF!

  • What an AWESOME version of a GREAT SONG !!!!

  • гг крутатенюшка

  • Hardly never comment on videos, but here I think I have to... Oh... My... GOD!!!!!

  • hmmmm..do i like, dont i like it lol..so different from deep purple..i dunno, just no real conviction behind this version,it sounded ok till the last 30 seconds where i thought it went wrong!.she has a good voice no doubt, and Ritchie is a legend on the guitar, listened to a few of there songs now, thought a couple were ok-ish..thing is,i love metal and i love folk and acoustic..so i should like this..just sounds kinda corny to me..still trying to make me mind up weather i like this or not lol..

  • I like Blackmore's night music when it comes to sounds like after 3:08 (and generally Fires at Midnight stuff) . But when it comes to Deep purple remakes... they really shouldn't have bothered with this song. It's more the way that dumb public seems to react that makes this "a sacrilege" . I'm sure it can be done better.

  • The forggoten rock king...hail to thee

  • holy shit

  • its such a shame he doesnt do rock anymore. I like Blackmore's Night but i wish he would do one album of pure rock, metal whatever. its odvious he can still outplay 99% of guitaists out there.

  • aaaaaaaahahahahah fanno ridere!!!

  • Lame!!

  • i think ian gillan is sad right now, cuase thats such a powerful song, it shouldnt be played like this....

  • Bravo ljudi, za medalju!!!

  • love blackmores night but this one is terrible

  • OMG... It's horrible. I'm not Blackmore's fan anymore

  • it'd be so funny if he got an erection in the middle of the stage by his woman talking dirty into the microphone.

  • mmm q feo quedo cantado por esta mina...y esos coros..horrendos.

  • FUCK Up yhte bitchesses

  • Sacrilige? Rock has nothing to do with fundamental ideas, otherwise it wouldn't exist. Even though it's an epic and meaningful songs, it doesn't mean anyone hasn't the right to sing it. It's show business in the end of the day...

  • @pontifix when I use the word sacrilege it means "the act of depriving something of its sacred character", but without sense of any religion, not at all.The meaning of my word sacret is " something extremely precious to me".The song "Child in time" and Ian's voice.

I completely agree with memmori1.She doesn't have power, emotions and strength to sing this gorgeous song.Try to listen original version from 1970, maybe you will understand.

  • @vucic89 I respect your way of thinking, it's just happens that mine is different. But I find your last sentence a bit patronising. I have been a Deep Purple fan since age 16 and I have listened to the original version a thousant times. Just because I have an open mind it doesn't mean I don't "get it".

  • Nice new version of the old song. The chorus makes me envision Macbeth.

  • I am not trying to be mean, but I hate when rock stars decide to put their no- talented wives in the band! Yes, I am talking McCartney and Lennon! No-one cares to see them, ok! Or at least, I don't! Blackmore is the greatest guitar player without a doubt! Enough with the elf music already! I am a huge Purple and Rainbow fan! But this music is as boring as hell!

  • WHAT? You need a POWER and STRENGTH and EMOTION in your voice to sing this very difficult song! What Candice does is a SHAME. She needs two more back vocalists to try to touch Gillan's heights - and she fails. And what are those half-naked dancing girls doing there? This song is sacred, she'd better close her mouth and bow her head and go off from the rock stage she'll never belong.

  • @memmori1 I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU. SHE SOUNDS LIKE TV SPEAKER READING THE NEWS.

  • @dickensbg Thanx man, this is the way she really is :)

I have nothing against her own songs - I just don't like them - but why try Child in Time or Rainbow classics?

She can't make these songs her own - and she can't be compared to Dio or Gillan.

The result is so weak and mean.

  • @memmori1 DEEP PURPLE introduced completely new sound in the 70's. A sound that is impossible to IMITATE. If it was rock, than NO ONE ELSE PLAYED ROCK. They were far beyond the imagination of music at that time. THEY FIT PERFECTLY EACH OTHER /smth that you don't see often on stage/. I hope DP fans will support me. TO ALL THE MUSICIANS IN THE WORLD: COVERS OF DP ARE NOT ACCEPTED! DON'T TOUCH WITH DIRTY FINGERS Deep Purple! LET THE DREAM CONTINUE!

  • cool..i like it

  • Candice are the best

  • beautiful song

  • We have to like Mr. Blackmore and what he likes.... and he SURE approve this... and i Think this "irish" way is lovely for his music.... Remeber Blackmore is an "old.-school-musican"..... LOVE THIS MUSIC !!!!!

  • Master at work..

  • A great and gorgeous song... One of the best of Blackmore..

  • damn it blackmore, fuck...

  • ritchie blackmore is one of the greatest guitarits around

  • @vucic89 ya don't think a beautiful ladies voice does alright?

  • @TarantulaHand :

    What is your problem??

Wake up, Ritchie can do what he wants with HIS music...

  • @vucic89 what a load of codds wollop.

shes got a fantastic voice. you try singing child in time.......

as a later comment so correctly says all versions are good............

to me its the song, niot the sex of singer......

  • @vucic89 why not? it's a song written by Blackmore, and now re-arranged by him. Ladies and acoustic, just pure magic.

  • @DreamHealer87 why not?I could list :

her performance shows complete superficiality and absence of emotions- it's empty as a vacuum

smiling during the performance- is that happiness? where are the words of joy in this song? " See the blind man shooting at the the world, bullets flying, taking tall"....The song "was born" in 1969-during the USA-Vietnam war.

Try to listen Ian Gillan's original version of this song. That's a "pure magic".

    This is pathetic.Zero.Nothing.

  • @vucic89 each has its own way of speaking, Candice does so with positivity

and if you dont like it, stay away from this, you have always the deep purple version

  • @vucic89 100% agree ! especially in this broadcast with this audience !!it's a Shame for this amazing song ! Child in time without Gillan but ridiculious pipes !!

Wake up Ritchie , but it's too late now for a reunited Rainbow . Ronnie is dead now , and i' me sure he was waiting for that , in secret ... and no sign from the man in black anymore ... Sad !!!

  • @vucic89 Only one word: TASTELESS. DP without rest of the band members is like THE EARTH ALONE IN THE SPACE. Why should she even dare to think performing Child in time

  • @dickensbg

you know, I love MK8 very much, but MK2 lineup was as a most beautiful dream, you can't forget them.

  • @dickensbg Grow up son. Get a life. Richie wrote the bloody thing - that gives him the right to re-arrange it!!

  • @LifesonEarth You really make laugh :) BLAST YOU EARS! BLOW OUT ALL THE MUD WITHIN THEM.

  • @LifesonEarth AND REMEMBER: Ritchie COMPLETELY FAILED with singers /EXCEPT RJD/. JLT and GB could not follow his ideas. HE GAVE UP. H E G A V E U P! H E G A V E U P! H E G A V E U P!

  • Is that Nina Hagen dancing next to the stupid show host!...

  • Put this video up because I know you either like it or not! I like it... Different versions are a very cool thing.

  • Good version, with a rather Spinal Tap ending...

  • Candise is - white sheep.

  • The host is struggling with the vibe of this song! Amazing guitar work

  • I reckon people should get over the fact That Deep Purple 70's era are no more, this is a good version in it's own right.

  • i like this version of ritchie

  • the end looks a bit like scotish or irish music, i don't know...

  • maybe even English!

  • Nice to se Ritchie with the Electric Guitar.

  • Comment removed

  • Wonderful song!!

  • @JerusalemHolyLand Only good thing about this version is, Richie, and the face he is on Electric guitar.

  • Well that flute spoilt everything, Child in time was kinda mistic, near Stairway to heaven was the best ballads of that times, it was about the cold war, but not only, it was about loneliness of the individual, about the struggle for live, that's my opinion, and this flute and dance of these girl just tragic in that moment, mój rodak pisze kicha, blamaż, profanacja ja dodam kaszana

  • Well.. the original is of course better than this one. The great guitar playing of Ritchie Blackmore was obviously not the only thing which made the song so great..

I know that there maybe will be some critics on this comment, but I think it's a fact..

  • Wtf with the picture???

  • Sorry, sorry, sorry. This is German TV at it´s worst. Candice and Rich deserve better.

  • Sorry...ale to jest jakiś blamaż i profanacja. Kicha jednym słowem, a nie "child in time"

  • Theres one person in the universe who should sing this song. Please leave this one to Ian Gillan. Or what Richie??

  • Catharsis187

    +1)

    Gillan Is Child In Time!

  • This is not by any standard to the potenetial of one of Rock and Rolls greatest talents.. What is he doing...

  • Absolutely beautiful! Anyone ever notice (even when you were listening to In Rock), that this song starts exactly like Bombay Calling on It's A Beautiful Day's self titled debut from '69? I'm not bitchin'. I love it all.

  • Please have a look at my book "Ritchie Blacmore" at internet.

Ms. Candice sings better day after day !

  • Blackmore is absolutly amaizing, one of the greatest guitar player

  • It seems that some critics fail to understand that peolple like Blackmore are eclectic. He didn't rest on a fossilized past of platinum laurels. He moved on to new horizons, exploring new musical dimensions. He can do the past rock act anytime, should he want to. He decided to call it a day and is now garnering new acclaim in medieval folk rock. No mean feat - how many musicians can be so versatile? Sit back and listen to his new genre... or move over. I'm a diehard Purple fan who compromised.

  • no compromise my friend.

  • Her voice is absolute magic! They rock! :)))

  • @Magnovey If you call this THEY ROCK I am expecting David Letterman in Black Sabbath

  • After watching this garbage I no longer need to take some pills for my constipation

  • Well I think Deep Purple with David Coverdale was the best, because I like the bluesy style they had for example on the Stormbringer album

  • I always liked Mr Evans myself, but I listen to every phase of Purple and enjoy them all for what they are, though I'm perma burnt on Smoke On The Water.

  • awesome i think people shud stop comparin cadice with ian & remember this is a live version if u listen to ians live version he sucks

  • Cand-ASS Night has no business singing Ian Gillan's lyrics. Love the changes made to accommodate her crappy voice.

  • dudes....let the master happy!

    respect!

  • well the endinf wasnt necessary but its ok xD

    Richie > all

  • De gustibus non est disputandum - but the sound engineer must have had a very bad day.

  • this song is about war and its suposed to be a sad song, the crowd dancing was hillarous

  • MAn this song is bether for guirtar than it was

  • Hay temas como este que solo deben ser cantados, por el GRAN GILLAN, IMPOSIBLE NO ACORDARSE DE EL CUANDO SE ESCUCHAN VERSIONES COMO ESTA.

¿EN QUE COÑO ESTABA PENSANDO BLACKMORE,S?

  • interesting version

  • Awesome

  • Awesome!

  • This is Blasphemy!!!

  • ok, maybe she shouldn't sing Smoke on the Water but she sure as hell SHOULD sing this song . . this medieval shit rox!

  • Comment removed

  • love DP, BN, and the MASTER RB... love it...

  • Metalkodelik is absolutely right! ... After Gillan no one could sing it again .... only all of us!

  • This is a great version! Ritchie is the greatest guitarist on the world... we must bring respect!

  • this is an interesting version of this song, that's for sure.and i prefer the deep purple version (espically the made in japan) that's also for sure.

  • or ian gillian...... or roger glover..... or ian paice NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! BLASHPEMY!!!! BLASPHEMY!!! SAY IT AIN"T SO!!!

  • Child in Time without JON LORD!!!!!

  • Richie Blackmore ist the Nr. 1 Guitar God. The song is almost so good as the original.

Where the hell is Viet-Nam ???

  • Purple's very much alive actually.. just without blackmore and its dissapointing to see him here instead of with them even though Steve Morse can fill his shoes pretty well

  • OHHH My FUCKIN GOD!!!!!, WHAT THEY FUCKIN DID???, ITS A SACRILEGE!!!!, IT IS A FUCKIN SIN, NOOOOOOOOO, THEY CAN NOT DO IT!!!!!, THIS SONG IS DEPRESIVE, ITS ABOUT A VIOLENTED CHILD IN VIETNAM... (NONE COMMENTS AND WITHOUT WORDS...) WATH THE FUCKIN THING HAVE NOW IN HIM HEAD RITCHIE???, OK, music of blackmores night its good, but this cover is a absolutly SIN!!!!.

  • Yes , that is Smurf Land. No Doubt

  • Comment removed

  • it's not french tv :s

    rather german I think ;)

  • Where was it performed? Smurfland ??

  • germany as you can hear the presentator

aswell sat1 topright corner is german

  • I love this version of Child in Time, and I think they sang it very well.

    The audience is fu
