  • The very best! Pure rock.

  • I love Journey and this song is great because anytime I need to talk (or anything I want to express, including love, lol) I can and same goes on my part with my boyfriend!!

  • There are still some good bands like Foo Fighters and Buck Cherry, but alot of the bands you see on Youtube and Pandora are never going to see the light of day because the music moguls want big bucks fast. It's not even this generation's fault - music is one of those subjective, experiential things - and you don't know you're listening to El Toro Caca music until something like Journey or whatever completely blows your mind. The moguls know that and that's whey they get away with it.

  • this is some great shit

  • @TheRuggedrick How could u have said it better, :)

  • This is one of The real songs that hey did.... It s what they were all about.. It was a band a great band please just remember what they did,, it shaped you life!!!

  • These To Songs Together Should Always Stick Together One Song Without The Other Is Like Meat And Potatos Without The Gravy Its Gotta Be Together

  • this song still rocks

  • Listen to the words, JaieHart66. I miss you...

  • Just turned 40 in Oct , I been very depressed , feeling old, ( the older generation ) but I feel better find this site , are music rocked and its something my children will never understand ! I wouldnt want to be young in 2012 , what we have now? Lady Gaga !! Nothing is better than 70s and 80s Rock!

  • Thank you Hollerwood , I think they should have kept him with the band ..

  • Ok you people will think im nuts but I love this song and the singer not Perry the other one,, who is he ? and why did Steve Perry take over and play less rockin songs ?

  • @Coffee2go71 His name is Gregg Rolie, he was the original lead singer for Journey as well as keyboardist. Also he sang and played keyboard with the original lineup of the band Santana.

  • @TheHollerwood In fact the band was build around Neil Schon. Gregg Rolie quit the band and they brought in Jonathan Cain to play keyboards. Steve Perry started with the band on a trial basis on the song Wheel in the sky as a backup vocalist.

  • @MrMitho1 Before Perry, they brought in Robert Fleischman to share vocal duties with Rolie. Schon and Rolie where both founding members of Journey, Shon had played in Santana with Rolie beforehand. The band wrote "Wheel in the Sky" when Fleischman was with them, but then he left and they brought on Perry. Cain came on as keys a few years after all this, around 1980 under Rolie's recommendation.

  • @TheHollerwood Ididnt know that ... thanks for the infor.

  • God are generation had the best kick ass music! not like what my kids listen to today :(

  • Like a dog on a meaty bone, I could feast for days on Neal Schon's tasty guitar licks.

  • Go to album!!! Man, tearing up. rock n roller for life!!!

  • '79 for life

  • Greg Rolie and Steve Perry - two great voices that still sound great after all these years, even if it's on tape, right?

  • no telling what journey would of been w/ greg staying but the contrast between their voices was great...i think songwriting was broader w/ the two of them...its nice to have these songs eternally

  • It is unfortunate that the music of today fails to compare with the likes of Journey but lets face it nobody ever has or ever will. Growing up in the "past" there are numerous groups of which set the standard of great Rock music and I will always be thankful.

  • This music is better than sex...

  • Bittersweet never tasted so Good...

  • What has happened to music today ... today's artists have fallen so far from this classic gem.

  • wow. i just like the music don't feel all this anger you guys feel. :)

  • Comment removed

  • Steve Perry is probably one of the most if not the best natural singers ever. And the original early lineups of the band are killer, stellar musicianship all around. Yea they write about chicks and love but who cares, watch them play live in the late 70's and early 80s and you'll see why they are so respected and are still going strong 30+ years later.

  • I just checked iTunes - they don't offer these two songs as one d/l. What a CROCK....

  • @RocKiteman yeah that's basically the musical equivalent of blue balls!

  • @bobafettfan32 LOL....

  • @RocKiteman

that is just a shame because back in "the day" that's the ONLY way they played it. Glad I was there then....

  • This song reminds me of something funny....True story, I swear, in '79 I was with this chick named Dawn STUMP and her brothers' name was WOODY... he was cool and she was HOT...class of 81'

  • Okay, I'm confused... If all these laws of "supply and demand" apply, and I'm all the time hearing people complaining about today's shitty music and demanding better, WHY ARE THE RECORD COMPANIES NOT SUPPLYING IT? Makes me think all these crooked assed capitalist pig corporate fogies really can't tell the difference between their asses and a hole in the wall.

  • That's because they belive your sheep to be lead around by the ear. They figure this 'Disneylike" voice enhanced regurgitated slop they call music is what' people want. So they flood the airwaves with it. Imagine their suprize when someone extremely different like Adele came along. Now the airwaves are crammed with her music and their scrambling to find the next one. Was it any coincedense for awhile every band and song on rock radio all sounded like Nickleback?Hell no that was orchestrated!

  • @Maxharddrive64 It's sad... my cousins started a band. Started out Christian rock. Then went to alternative rock. Then went to country rock. Then they went bust. It's a pitty. They were actually pretty good and started to get a little recognition in the end until their manager took them for every dime they had under pretenses of having an album cut professionally. That, my friend, is the type of people running the "entertainment" industry. It isn't about music any more, just money.

  • I have been looking and listening to this song for a looooong time. AOR used to play this when it came out and finally found it. Not only the licks; but the Bridge into Anytime is so tight! Love the song!

  • Neal is a goddamn guitar prodigy!

  • What am I hearing between minutes 3:31 and 3:34? I love these songs, back to back... and can hear something resonating there. Anyone else hear it? Might have to have some good headphones to hear it that will block out all the other sound.

  • This song is Perfect, The earlier stuff like this is more to my liking. I'm really glad to see young people listening, learning, admiring real good classic rock, and so happy when i see them keeping it going and recording videos of themselves learning the songs on guitar. i really thought this young generation was lost musically, but i see hope all over and I'm glad.

  • Aynsley Dunbar lays down some awesome groove on both songs!

  • 10 people aren't feeling that way anytime and are Katy Perry fans.

  • The first part of this song should've been longer. ;-;

  • i like when they bust out with ... "when the summer's gone..she'll be there..."

it's not so much the lyrics..but the way he sings... it's nice.

  • huh? I didn't think 10 people on the planet don't like this song. I guess they all have access to Youtube

  • class of 72 bro's 60 s 70 s and 80s the best there was the best there is the best there ever will be rock on free love generation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dt1955jr class of 2003 here lol and im stuck in the 60s 70s 80s time warp too..... been there since 1995 er so....... todays music is garbage.. with all the auto tune crap, golden oldies is where its at !!!!!!

  • the best times ever in the 80"s.get out and hook up with all the chicks and the fellows,to all the pinellas park boys ,miss you all .to all the girls in the park who would just get wild each and every nite, thanks for the best days ever ..the parkers

  • notice how there is actual singing involved as well?

  • prees 5 contiously, you'll get: and a chew

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded in my book!

  • Hi Kids! This song came out in the late 70"s...and the whole album(we used to call em that)was fantastic!...check it out....lol ...we used to say that too

  • Journey rocks!.......period!

  • Journey opened for Montrose ~ musta been in like 1978ish - I had never heard of Journey, but as I walked into the Long Beach Arena Steve Perry's silky smooth vocals singin Feeling that Way.... OMG! My knees buckled, I got that funny feeling deep deep deep down.... I was in love for the first time, mesmerized

  • ANYTIME L......

  • i wasnt around in the 80's but where i come from video games didnt exist in my house untill i was like 16, a cell phone (in general) was a new concept in my neighborhood in 2007. a touch screen cellular phone or anything touch screen was science fiction. when i grew up the cell phone i had was a piece of paper and a pen, the cartoons on TV were DECENT when i actually watched them, and america let you grow up in your house without breathing down your neck... god i miss those days

  • lord... why is this song so much like crack, or weed? one hit and your hooked lol

  • my 2nd favorite journey song.

  • class of 1986 approves of this song! XD

  • In the middle of the disco scene I would go home from work after cocktailing and play this album and Kansas and Genesis (...And then there were three). Great music and great days!

  • Me too, '84! I agree totally!

  • ...and thats, how ya spell CLASIC ROK!

  • What great memories...bring back perry ...Journey ain't the same without his voice

  • THIS is why we come here to YouTube. It reminds us that we are not alone and never will be...

    '87 For life...

  • @steggieone LOVE this visual. Think of it now whenever I hear this song. So many great components to what makes the song/era. Boone's, high school, Trans Am, cassettes.. perfect!

  • My all time favorite Journey songs I may be 50 but it sounds as good to me today as it did the first time that I put that old vinyl on the turntable.

Thank you so very much for posting this! I mean it friend!

  • Sadly music will never ever be like this and this good again. I own the Infinity album on vinyl still in great shape, it's always a good reason to crank the surround sound up!

  • 80's? try the late 70's. grundo, like your taste!

  • i played this cassett in my 74 charger for so long the letters wore off :)

  • 83 and what a time we had

  • Hell, yeah!!! Class of 1984 here also. Journey was my first concert, saw them October 31, 1981 in Mobile, Alabama. Escape Tour, Halloween night, it wa a great time!!!

  • hell yeah been rockin to Journey since they came out

  • Nothing like your '77-'79 Cadillac Fleetwood, a fine looking woman (or girl) in the seat next to you, and of course...THIS SONG! How much better would it get than that?

  • class of 82 seen original journey in 79 never forget it it was amazing.

  • ....and THATS how ya spell classic rok! \m/

  • I traded someone for this album...Elvis and house work,,This song RULES

  • I was nine when this hit the airwaves and for a very long time I was convinced Steve Perry was singing "when the sermon's done she''ll be standing by the lights". LOL. Anyway it's one of my favorite tunes from one of my favorite bands. If I had a time machine I'd probably take a one way trip back to the 70's. So much simpler and laid back. Peace.

  • i raped the replay button.

  • @MissFcmz You go Miss!!

  • been laid to this song more than once....i miss the 80's ! damn it was fun to be a teen then...no computers...no video games to speak of...only a phone and usually your parents had to beat you in order to make a call on most nights if you were at home....back then you had to get out and do stuff and hopefully hook up back then, if you wanted to have fun. there was always weed and hotties and bands like Journey, Van Halen and AC/DC laid down the sound tracks for our generation....class of 84'

  • @therapist5150 class of 85 here remember them days ...feel so old lol

  • @therapist5150 Hello therapist. Class of 84 also! Got this album when I was 14. Cant believe it's been so long ago. These two songs still send chills down my spine...and yes these were my husband to be's get lucky with me music when I got older. Love me some Journey and especially with Gregg Rolie!! I love his voice!

  • @therapist5150 Hell Yeah!!!

  • @therapist5150 hell yes...weren't those the days? If i could close my eyes and go back, even just for a few hours, boy would I live it up! And those phones that we were trying to use had an almost 15 ft long cord that would wrap around every hallway and corner just to get you some privacy. If only the kids now would see that they might appreciate all they have. But hey...we had an awesome time to grow up right!

    Class of 87'

  • @therapist5150 : me too ! class of 84 !

  • @therapist5150 I'm sure all of those guys remember you well. lol Did you used to fawn over Perry's bulge too?

  • @therapist5150 wow you got that right .............................. its funny i looked at your name and thought it said the rapist i was like wtf........then i looked a again and realized it was saying therapist lmao duh

  • @therapist5150 Right On!!! Class of 81 and on the hottie side:)

  • @therapist5150 its only a 7 minute song dog.. i hope it was on repeat!

  • @therapist5150 I'm class of 1984, too, and I can pretty much identify with every single thing you said!! Damn those were fun days!!! Our kids don't know what they missed. :)

  • @therapist5150 Yes man!! I was there, California, Class of 84 as well bro!!

  • @therapist5150 LOL You sound like my mom! Excpet for the getting laid part...

But other than that, she says the same exact things to me! haha then she brags about "Class of 86" bwhahaha. I wish my generation was like this! Aparently we're just a bunch of obease, video game junkies. -.-

  • @therapist5150 Dude, I can definitely relate!

  • Appreciate Perry's solo lead period a lot, but his call/response and harmonies with Gregg Rolie seem more soulful and certainly more complex than later. More rockin too than later, in some ways. Really pull you in. Can't help but be all nostalgic when I hear this about long teenage summer nights, running around crazy, partying, crushes, etc. Anyway, musically its VERY frustrating that this joint Perry/Rolie phase was SO brief, considering the potential they had just begun to explore!

  • i feel really sad for the Justin Bieber; Lil Wayne generation...

  • This is one of my favorite Journey songs. Takes me back.

  • the best two slow dancing songs EVER !!!!

  • this is the sort of song that was made to be listened to in the summertime. It just sounds like something for a warm weather night.

  • this song combo rocks so much it should be a required listening for everyone at least one in their life! :)

  • I heard "Anytime" played on 95.9 KLZX a couple days ago... i also had seen Foreigner/Journey/ nightranger back in July... cant get enough Journey!

  • This is Jouney's best song. I love the guitar, keyboards and vocals, especially Greg Rolie on this song. Timeless!!!!!

  • Rock & roll blasphemy to separate these songs. I hear it done on lame ass stations far to often.

  • @rachelynn1000 Honestly it's like separating Foreplay/Long Time, or Heartbreaker and Living Loving Maid. Who in their right mind would do something like that, and how the hell does any DJ get away with it?

  • @MrGuy84 Well, some stations do not separate those songs [foreplay/long time was never separated on the LP to begin with] only when issued as singles [foreplay as the flip of peace of mind and long time as it's own a-side] were they ever separated.

  • @MrGuy84 amen to that

  • This is the top 3 best songs from Journey it really Rocks!

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time, it takes me back to many places in my life where I Truly felt Free. I am aging qiuckly because of my agressive diabetes, and my one hope is that my children get in to this music--True Southern Rock and Roll at its very best!! Thanks for the memories Journey, yall mean so much to so many especiall me!!!!! E

  • Why don't classic rock stations play this anymore?

  • @glimmer2158 Heard it on the radio today, haven't stopped listening to it since.

  • @glimmer2158 Jack FM in my area (Balt/D.C.) plays it and I wouldn't be surprised if their type of format around the country does, too. The only classic rock station in my area doesn't (they can't of course; it would cut into their playing the same BostonSegerMellencampHeart crap over and over and over again)

  • Great bfucking song! love Journey!

  • 10 people lost that feeling

  • 10 people lost that feeling and commited suicide

  • help me big kisss

  • help me

  • never a big Perry fan- but I loved this one with Rolie and Perry sharing lead vocals.

This was vintage Journey. Two lead vocalists would have catapulted this band even further than it did. Perry alone just got annoying after awhile. Monster voice, but Rolie just added the right character and general all around talent.

  • Why aren't these songs on their greatest hits album?!?!?!

  • @cookiecraver97 Songs like this are there to give you a reason to actually buy the albums. I've bought tons of "Greatest Hits" and "Best of the..." albums over the years, and I always come back to the original albums. To miss out on even one song of this quality is a real shame, unless you own a compilation for some other reason than "I really like these guys".

  • Steve Perry is awsome ....got to love him

  • Steve Perry is AMAZING.

Singin' ever so slightly - behind the beat of the music.

    Peace,

    V

  • This was pure rock personified. Not knocking all the newer stuff the kids listen to today, but most of that music is more cookie cutter pop trying to mimic rock. This was rock in the purest, imaginative form. LONG LIVE ROCK & ROLL!!!!!!!!!!

  • Perry just nails it in this song!

  • when steve perry kicks in there its legendary

  • 12 year old here, I apologize for the musical taste of most of my generation. Can't stand that crap, Lil Wayne, Bieber, etc. THIS is true music.

  • @grundo1561

Right on man, right on indeed! Never met you but you are a cool 12 yr old!

  • kudos. @ least u know good music when u here it

  • @grundo1561 You have great taste! :o)

  • @grundo1561 thank you

you have really made my day......the world may not be a lost cause after all we just need a few million more like you

  • @grundo1561 you shouldn't apologize for your generation. The record companies that record this 3 minute shitfest called modern rock or emo or whatever it is........should bow down and suck our dick for denying us half a decade or more of good music. They're the ones who record this shit music. Meanwhile, the best music in America right now is what was recorded back in the day, or whatever comes out of the amplifiers of a few good friends.

  • @sabbathtage25 so fucking true some of the shit me an my buddies come up sounds atleast 10 times more epic than the shit that record companies spew out today. you get a few good friends together an they can make somethin downright amazing

  • @sabbathtage25 up yours fuck wad...you would not know good music hittng you squarely in the small, very small mind you, frontal lobe of the pea brain you were born with

  • @sabbathtage25 The record industry jackals found out that we like great music. They put a stop to that shyte damn quickly!

  • @grundo1561 Atta boy!! Steer clear of that crap the Industrial Music Complex forces through the airways.

  • @grundo1561 Atta boy!! Steer clear of that crap the Industrial Music Complex forces through the airways. Class of '94-Woodstock!

  • 10 people are tone deaf!

  • @grundo1561 No apology needed!!!!!! It just shows you have great taste in music!!!!

  • I won't get over this for a long time. Saw Journey on their first tour with Steve P and wish Greg was still with 'em. Mr Rolie, thank you!

  • Absolutely one of the best fucking songs ever, the music and lyrics are just awsome. One of the greatest bands of my generation. You opened my eyes to a new kind of way...Anytime at all!!!!!

  • im 16 and listen to rap and pop but then one day i heard these guys on the radio and though holy shit this is amazing. befor i heard people insulting my old music and thought that they dont know what they are talking about but yes ,yes they do

  • big papi you are so right! What great heart felt love lyrics...I miss this soooooo much!

  • here here bigpapi33131!!! You said it all....very well put!

  • Thanks 4 getting this out there!!

  • THANK GOD! This album rocked my teen years.

  • Hey, im only 18 and im not big on the newer music, but all my life i've listened to this music. Journey is the soundtrack to my life. Steve Perry is the greatest vocalist in the music buisness and Journey is one of the greatest band is the music buisness (tied only with the beatles). We love Steve and his awsome vocal power and song writting ablities. Arnel is a very good singer, but Steve is the one and only.

  • Neal Schon is one kickass guitarist!

  • @LIgirl527 Amen sister! Neal evokes pure emotion from that Les Paul

  • It's funny. Back in the day - I used to say that Journey was a gay assed chick band. Now I love em. They're awesome. What happened to rock? There used to be used to be a whole shit load of great bands - with talent! Now there's nobody. WTF nobody wants to sing and play the guitar anymore?

  • @nev594 Hell yes. totally agree but since I'm a chic, didn't mind it so much! Ha. Ha.

  • unfreaking believeable that people only dont listen to this music becasue they say its old, dumbasses

  • Fabulous, absolutely fabulous !!! Classic baby.

  • When and why did music like this escape the eyes of the general public!?!

  • Journey without Steve Perry is like Queen withouth Freddie Mercury....Aint the same and can't be replaced.

  • @DEEHARDONE You got that right. Great comment.

  • Damn! We will never ever have new music like this again! well at least we have the videos and the memories of the last great generation of music.

  • So many great hooks in Journey songs. IF you grew up in the 70s and 80s, you can close your eyes, put on a Journey song, and almost smell the time and place it takes you to.

  • Journey is awesome. /Don't Stop Believing/ is the last song played at our USMC birthday ball every year for ROTC.

I'm 17-- Journey kicks ass. Anyone who says otherwise is full of it, and obviously doesn't need to be here if they don't know what REAL music is.

    Again, Journey is awesome.

  • All of ya all, go suck it, Steve Perry is the ultimate Ninja Stealth as far as music is concerned, and all of us are his minions. SO GO SUCK IT AND SHUT THE FUCK UP, and just fucking listen, you dumb mother fuckers......have a nice day!!!!! And, of course, enjoy :) You all wish you were Steve "the fucking ultimate Ninja Stealth" Perry--bitches

  • @DDDOTE and speaking of worthless comments!! LMAO!

  • YH I THOUGHT jpheitman WAS A FUCKING TROLL SORRY ABOUT THE HARSHNESS BUT IN FACT HE REALLY IS! SO FUCK THIS CUNT!!! XD

  • classic rok at its BEST!!!!!!!

  • Are parents wasn't to hip on this music, they thought it was a bunch of noise.

so you calling todays music PC generated beat bullshit means your getting

    old.

  • @thejunker100 1) "Our," "Weren't," "You're."

    2) How about you actually grow a pair and reply to his comment, so he can see it and defend himself?

    3) I'm 18. This is amazing. Modern music is pure shit. I will not listen to anything written after 1989, unless it's REALLY good. The fact that I can't think of any examples which meet both criteria should tell you something.

  • @jpheitman I agree with you todays music is garbage. all I'm saying is my parents said the same about my music. and thats the way it is man.

  • @thejunker100 Alright, that makes sense. Sorry about the harshness; thought you were just another troll.

  • Look, awe got some damn good music from the 700's 80's and 90's, but it was our music. What right do we have to disrespect the music coming out now, just because it isn't our style. I say, Kick out the Jams, no matter the genre.

  • Are you feeling, feeling that way, too? ooohhhhhhhhyeayeayea, i'm feeling the same way that bigpapi33131!!! Truer words, never spoken, and laughing my ass off, too, let them have it, Big Papi--you got it, and you get it....you're my hero!!!! gina

  • Best Journey song ever!!!(well two songs to make one)
