Yeah, luckily we are talking about TBC, not vanilla. in TBC the game was already pretty fleshed out, and matured enough to stand on it's own.
And may I ask you (all) just one question? why is it ANY time someone mentions that "X era" was his favorite, it's ALWAYS met with "nah br0, it's your nostalgia goggles". I mean effing sake, can't it be that people TRULY liked tbc (or any other era) the most? yes, it had it's flaws. but today's WoW flaws are much bigger. k?

You can complain about something and still like it. I criticize A LOT of Blizzard's decisions in WoW nowadays, and think many things they do are wrong, yet I still pay and play the game because it is still fun for me when I log in.
No era in WoW was perfect. each expansion, every single patch and mini patch, had flaws. it's only natural to "complain" or criticize something you view as wrong.
However, taken as a whole - I think TBC was the best expansion of WoW.
-I have a big feeling that Pandaria will 'fix' the mess Cataclysm has caused. It seems like an attempt to reset the franchise rather than further dig a cataclysmic grave.
-MoP reminds me of Outlands, which is a very great thing.
-MoP will also focus on the SKILL involved when playing the game, not an "ilvl" ("ilvl" is about the stupidest thing Blizzard has come up with).
-The Legion, aka what the Sunwell was all about, is still out there. :)

@FuriousBCPill The pandorans where hidden from the world by mist, Hence "mists of pandora" the reason they were hidden was because of the first attack by the burning legion. But for some reason the mists are gone now. That part i dont have the answer to.
why is it that almost every giant well in the wow universe has something bad happen to it?! it's just a fucking well! LEAVE THE WELL ALONE, IT'S A WELL!
-Anything from the Naga leader raid and up was nearly impossible if you weren't in a top of the line guild.
-Illidan was released early, and the pros got bored of Illidan- so Blizzard created the Sunwell...
-Needless to say, the Sunwell was BEYOND pro-difficulty. It was amazingly intriguing though.
-I used to spend hours with a group 40 manning the first few mobs of commons.... and we still wiped. The loot was AMAZING, and you could tell you were part of a great game.
@SuppScott Right on all counts minus 2. The Sunwell wasn't thrown together because Illidan didn't take long, it was planned from the start because it ties into the storyline of Kael'thas and Kil'jaedans connection to Illidan / the BC theme.
Also an appropriate means of power for the new Blood Knights was necessary, so the Sunwell was the only option.
@isleschild uggh... must be because i got in around the time of BC's release, which means i didn't get a max lvl character till around wrath (cuz i was slow, back then... sue me.) i must admit though, i would love to have been there as a max lvl to do the sunwell...
-In BC, you had great gear coming from all sorts of places giving how you spent your time PVE'ing some VARIETY. LFR + weekly DS raid probably means you're in Dragon Soul for upwards of 5 hours a week. To me, that's insanity.
-People complain about the game being so easy now. No. Try heroics (though it's still the same boring DS + 400% more wiping).
-I don't care about killing DW as opposed to me caring about killing Kil'Jaedan / Illidan.
@LtLman22 Vanilla and TBC-exclusive servers have been considered by blizzard and have been deemed "not worth it". Don't expect them any time soon. And wrath/cata didn't suck, those are your own opinions.

@BartsOwner sargeras created the burning legion and the burning legion created the lich king from their creat orc necromancer, nerzhul, to assist burning legion on azeroth. but their creation became too strong. lich king wanted more and more power, anc created the undead scourge. the scourge and burning legion were still co-operating in the third war, but later their relations got fucked up.
I think wow should be out forever cause if it ended wht would all of us play on a saturday or on our free time. Hell even all day ever day. 40 man raids were a terrible design flaw that blizzard, thankfully, corrected. there were never more than 25-30 people actually executing the fights correctly.
saying firelands is less epic than mc eventhough you were 12 when BC was release, still underaged for a "T" rated game. boy nostalgia sure is bittersweet when you never experienced it

Sure you can do well enough with clicking but you could do everything better and faster with key bindings.
Just curious but what class/role are you, maybe you've found a spec that has so few abilities that you don't actually have to do anything but stare at your action bars and slowly move your mouse over each and every ability you need to use. But not at the same time as targeting something else.

Okay im really sick of people wanting to do 40 man raids again. They were such a bitch. It took forever to get one going and the bosses didnt give out more then 4-5 items. good luck getting something if there was 5 people that are the same class as you. Not to mention alot of people who even played wow back couldnt even run wow right causing them to lag out part way through a fight. @Ablutophobic going back to the gym analogy people who go to gym all pay the same amount so yes it is stupid. the game was challenging as it required timing and had a lot of "instand death for your mistake" situations but not anymore. its just far too easy now, back then just seeing someone on a normal mount made you go ah thats kool, if you saw them on a epic mount your jaw hit the floor
but now everyone looks the same because everyone can clear end level content easily

@Skywallx the orcs were destroying ashenvale with the humans in w3 actually and by the end the night elves were at peace with both humans and orcs as they banded together to beat of the undead + burning legion.
and the tauren druids did come out of nowhere, it was a one line explanation that was added to the lore and it makes no sense. its just random convenience to fit the balancing in wow.

@z3gg4 not only that.. the game has been out for so long that newbies coming in have pretty much missed everything unless they level up to 85 and start pugging old raids to get their TIER or mounts etc..
And even if that player didnt care about getting tiers and just says "screw the old raids" and lets say wants to have faction mounts, tons of reps... The amount of grind to accomplish that from a new player is ginourmous. its overwhelming from that point of view..

@VideoGamer869 ok peace. but dude i ve been playin warcraft series since 1994 i know blizzards style. ofc i cant fully judge this new upcoming expansion, but seriously, i dont like the idea of continent full of pandas. i thought they were supposed to be only an easter egg in the frozen throne expansion. wrath, bc and cata have been awesome expansions lorewise, cos they feauture one of the best developed main antagonists of warcraft series. i loved illidan's and arthas' story in wc3

40 man raids were a terrible design flaw that blizzard, thankfully, corrected. there were never more than 25-30 people actually executing the fights correctly.
saying firelands is less epic than mc eventhough you were 12 when BC was release, still underaged for a "T" rated game. boy nostalgia sure is bittersweet when you never experienced it

Just curious but what class/role are you, maybe you've found a spec that has so few abilities that you don't actually have to do anything but stare at your action bars and slowly move your mouse over each and every ability you need to use. But not at the same time as targeting something else.

Okay im really sick of people wanting to do 40 man raids again. They were such a bitch. It took forever to get one going and the bosses didnt give out more then 4-5 items. good luck getting something if there was 5 people that are the same class as you. Not to mention alot of people who even played wow back couldnt even run wow right causing them to lag out part way through a fight. Like really when people say 40 mans were awesome, they are retarded. wow was saved by 10 and 25 man raids

Now people tell me I shouldn't get to raid, "they make this game to fucking easy". Guess what, it's always been easy, it just takes a time commitment, that alot of people can't make.

@Ablutophobic going back to the gym analogy people who go to gym all pay the same amount so yes it is stupid. the game was challenging as it required timing and had a lot of "instand death for your mistake" situations but not anymore. its just far too easy now, back then just seeing someone on a normal mount made you go ah thats kool, if you saw them on a epic mount your jaw hit the floor
but now everyone looks the same because everyone can clear end level content easily

@Skywallx oh god no, wow is not for the lore, they butchered the lore from w2 and w3 to make it fit with the changes in wow. like tauren druids coming out of nowhere to help balance the game and the night elves siding with the humans over the orcs when they saw both races as being the same.
people play wow because of its challenge and its social aspect (which is gonna die with raid finder) and its immersive massive world.
the lore is nonsensical at this point

@Skywallx the orcs were destroying ashenvale with the humans in w3 actually and by the end the night elves were at peace with both humans and orcs as they banded together to beat of the undead + burning legion.
and the tauren druids did come out of nowhere, it was a one line explanation that was added to the lore and it makes no sense. its just random convenience to fit the balancing in wow.

@z3gg4 not only that.. the game has been out for so long that newbies coming in have pretty much missed everything unless they level up to 85 and start pugging old raids to get their TIER or mounts etc..
And even if that player didnt care about getting tiers and just says "screw the old raids" and lets say wants to have faction mounts, tons of reps... The amount of grind to accomplish that from a new player is ginourmous. its overwhelming from that point of view..
