@tombstonestairweII: I have to learn more English but you have to learn more from the facts, the truths. You and may be your PRC leadership should learn more about human right and democracy value. Thanks
Frankly, every statement the Dalai Lama has ever made sounds like a 15 year old trying to sound smart talking about politics when he is essentially saying the same thing over and over again but with slightly long words.
Chinese army killed 3,800,000 Tibetans in 1959, and they destroyed 7500 holy Monastery in Tibet, and they destroyed Tibetan culture and religions continue the today, it is real truth .
The CCP are terrified of His Holiness the Dalai Lama because Tibetan Buddhism and the popularity of His Holiness the Dalai Lama are spreading quickly among the Chinese people, especially the youths. Utilizing the internet many Chinese are recognizing the true qualities of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan Lamas, and are following the Vajrayana Tradition secretly in China.
Over 1.2 million Tibetans have died as a direct result of the Chinese invasion and occupation of Tibet. Today, it is hard to come across a Tibetan family that has not had at least one member imprisoned or killed by the Chinese regime. According to Jigme Ngabo, "after the suppressions of 1959 and 1969, almost every family in Tibet has been affected in some way".
China has gained the No.1 Position in many Fields: No 1 in Piracy ?...China No 1 in Torture?.. . China No 1 in Brutality ? China No 1 in Pollution ?.. . China No 1 in Executions?.. . China No 1 in Slave Prisons?.. China No 1 in Internet Censorship?.. China No 1 in Endangered Species?...China No 1 in Human Rights Abuse?.. .China
and where did you get your facts sir? not being technical here but where do you put north korea on internet censorship? and where is zimbabwe?and what is no 1 in brutality? just how do you caculate that?
how is china #1 in brutality? dude there are like massacres in burma everyday, human rights abuse in north korea, torture prisons in america, mass amounts of endangered species in south america, and all of these are in worse than china
"We Tibetans are looking for a legitimate and meaningful autonomy, an arrangement that would enable Tibetans to live within the framework of the Peoples Republic of China. Fulfilling the aspirations of the Tibetan people will enable China to achieve stability and unity. "
The CCP almost destroyed the Tibetan culture and religion, in the name of socialist transformation. At the end of the Cultural Revolution, Tibet was raped and razed. The Tibetan religion and culture were recovered to some degree after the Culture Revolution, but it was under the tight control of the CCP. The so-called "Establishing a New Tibet" is aimed to thoroughly change Tibet.
On behalf of all Chinese people, I want to offer the Tibetan people our sincere apologies for the cruelties inflicted upon them by the Chinese government. Tibet has never been and never will be a part of China. I hope one day Tibetans will receive the freedom that they need and deserve. I am ashamed of what the communist government and the CCP has done in Tibet. I hope that one day Tibet will again be free and regain its independence and sovereignty. I am sorry for the evils you have suffered.
China is a great nation and culture....you are also the victims of the Chinese Communist government that has destroyed the work of generations and generations of chinese great men and women.
Autonomous or independent the tibets was sometime under the political control of china..but its culture was always respected and revered by the Chinese leaders. ONLY the communists destroyed the Tibetan culture...They are CRIMINALS!!!
we really hate what they do to tibet, just like they do to Taiwan aimming more than 1000 missile to our country and our people, its freaking shit that they claim we are brothers while in the same time blocking us with brutality, chinese are shit! thats why Taiwanese and people in Tibet hate those communist suckers!!
CHINA EXECUTION BUSES, Coming to a City near you. WAKE UP is a great youtube video. Falun Gong executions, authorities selling the harvested organs from executions etc. Also BBC News - June 4, 1989, Tiananmen Square Massacre is a REALLY good youtube video, but there is LOADS of live footage on here of the massacre. yet more proof as if we need any that the chinese state are an oppressive cowardly gang of power crazed thugs. No change there then..

Look at 1:30, maybe you should ask the tibetan to use that knife to dig your eyeballs you hide into your a-hole years ago to have a better vison of the situation
Radio Free Asia is not unbiased. it's based in Washington. Therefore, just because it is called "Radio Free Asia", it doesn't mean its neutral. In fact, if you do a little background research, you'll find out more about this very biased group...
a story : one day a stranger came into ur home n u treat him well n llet him stay inside ur house ,, than the stranger started to over take ur beautiful house then finally he killed ur family member n tortured u for many yearssss .. wat will u do than
u will do same as tibetan in tibet r doing ,, its not about politics,, its all about ur freedom ,liberty ...
SHAME ON YOU CNN, BBC AND ALL OTHER BRAIN-DAMAGED MEDIA!!! YOU LIAR!!!
THE FUNNY THING IS: THE WESTERN WORLD NOW NEED CHINA TO DEAL WITH THE FXXKING FINANCIAL CRISES, STARTED BY AMERICANS, SO TIBET IS PART OF CHINA NOW, CLAIMED BY Miliband, BRITISH FOREIGN SECRETARY, ON 29/10/2008. LOL! IT'S ALL ABOUT POLITICS AND POWER!!!
the Miao, widely distributed throughout the mountainous areas of S China; the Mongols, found chiefly in the Mongolian steppes; and the Koreans, who are concentrated in Manchuria.
Non-Chinese groups represent only about 8% of the population, but the interior regions in which they live constitute more than half of the total area of the country. Among the main non-Chinese minorities are the Zhuang, a Thai-speaking group, found principally in Guangxi; the Hui (Muslims), found chiefly in Ningxia; the Uigurs, who live mainly in Xinjiang; the Yi (Lolo), who live on the borders of Sichuan and Yunnan; the Tibetans, concentrated in Tibet and Qinghai;
Hey free People , the chinese cyberarmee from the CCP ( nearly 30 000 People ) try to censor and manipulate the Internet, they are very agreessive and mob each one who write critical things about China. They spread lie about Tibet and about China itself !! let us shit in there little brains !!! We are free People, and we have free speech in the democracys of the World !!!!
notice the news report stated the tibetans started rioting the city and yet Dalilama called it peaceful protest. What country in the world wouldnt stop riots? Plus, there was no fire as the police were ordered to not armed with guns but shields, but this is long over, its Auguest looking back at this march false report
It saddens me that these tibet protesters resorted to violence. Tibetans have protested many times before this PEACEFULLY and have been beaten and arrested before they could speak. All though they are truly peaceful people, they are constantly being silenced, never getting their word out in the media. However, this outbust of frustration and destruction has given them all the media they wanted, but at what price? On one hand peaceful but dead end protests, on the other attention from the world.
'China helping Tibet' is like raping a woman and telling her to thank you for giving her a baby.
If a small place like Kosovo can form a country and doing well, then Tibet, five times the size of France would do just fine. China should not over-worry for Tibet and add winkle to her face; if she genuinely cares, then she should worry for Sudan instead...China only helped herself to Tibet, not 'helped Tibet'.
China lies, people die...FREE TIBET, FREE TIBET !!!
two things wrong here . . . firstly that was not peaceful protest and secondly the police were ordered not to fire upon the rioters under any circumstance. and there has been no proof of the violation of their orders so far. none whatso ever
The Chinese media recently declared TOTAL VICTORY against all those anti-China, boycott Olympics clowns. Part of this victory was achieved by the 250 Million Chinese internet netizens (No. 1 in the world in numbers) winning this battle in Cyberspace.
Following the reply to Yeshuaoo1:we can get information from outside world legally from internet, radio,TV.China started the democratic election on the countryside several years ago but after a couple of years running, there are so many problems appeared that shown China still not prepared for the democratic election.
As an Englishman I have to say that the Demonstrations became riots. Monks and citizens were burning shops, overturning cars, attacking people with long knives, as well as an assortment of weapons.
This was anything but "peaceful" as the Dalai Lama would have us believe.
The whole world is watching you China. Many will not be watching your games. Your human rights record is abysmal! All you have to do is change! It's not hard. You are just afraid! You will not lose any power but you will gain the respect of the world!! The whole world will respect you if you just change! Tibet is just a symptom of the problem!
Attack with rocks?!? HAHA! You kidding me? Rocks are so deadly, especially when the other side has GUNS!
you talk about change, how do you do it? see that's the problem, you suggest this and that, but there is no real solution to what you are suggesting. It is so easy coming out of your mouth, as in CHANGE yes blah blah blah.
Well if they didn't moved by the thousands into someone else's country, and destroy their culture, force their language on others, and interfere with Tibetan way of life, then none of them would have been hurt, none of their property would have been damaged would it?
First of all son, we are talking about today, what is happening right now. Note: Tibet was a theocracy in the time period you are talking about and had its problems. Name one society that hasn't had its problems. American was founded on violence and enslavement. Again, let's talk today and keep in mind I'm sitting in front of three Tibetans who spent 3 years in prison because they expressed their views and were in possession of a Tibetan flag.
Chinese always get so angry because they know they're wrong. It's that simple. A person gets defensive when they know another person is revealing something that is truth. Tibet is Tibet, China is China. During the Yuan Dynasty, China was part of the Mongol Empire. So you decide when history starts. There were times in history when Tibet controlled large parts of what now is China. Perhaps we should return to that point in history.
um... no, I'm fairly sure its because they're targeting them as an ethnic group, harassing them, trashing their property and even killing them, even though none of whom they attacked had any role in the decision making of the government. And burning our flag as well.
Tibetans are not Han Chinese, they are a different race, they speak tibetan (part of the Tibeto-Burman range of languages). It is their country, they have the same god-damn right as any other human being to live how they want. They do not want to be Chinese!
Demand Justice for Tibet. No more violence. No more killing. No more genocide. STOP THESE TRAITORS TRAINED OVERSEAS TO KILL AND ROB - THEY ARE NOT TIBETANS! TIBETANS WANT PEACE! TIBETANS DO NOT KILL. There are 4 major Buddhist groups in Tibet. No just Dalai lama. Many innocent Muslims and other ethnic groups were killed by these ex-lama/lords. NO to the Dalai Lama NO to tyranny from the Dalai Lama NO to the God King NO to slavery! NO to outside trained traitors trained to kill and terrorize!
this is stupid tibet has been china since the 13th centry!!!! if the idiots wants freedom then why dont people in austalia and america move back to england???? then china might give tibet back lol :)
Q: You might find it easier to make peace with people if you keep the personal attacks down to a dull roar. You've told me that I don't teach university (that would make me a liar), I can't think and I can't read. Why would I listen to your song after that?
"France is neutral"!!! obviously you don't listen to the news.
"and it is best for all countries not to sell arms" now you are changing your tunes. You complained of China selling arms to legitimate govn yet you didn't complain about Chad selling arms to the Rebel?
yes you are a liar! you are just a kid! 18?
"Why would I listen to your song after that" ... mmm that sounded like .. 16?
Qwerty: As I said earlier, you are an angry, hateful person who is just looking for a fight. You'll have to look somewhere else. Nice chatting with you.
I am not hateful. But I am angry at those who support a former slave owner, a self proclaim God-King reincarnated superior being.
Many many times DL said that he is spirtually advance! Yet he never repented those days when he rule Tibet with utter contempt for his fellow Tibetans!
Warycherry; a true buddist see themselves as 'Nothing' they are 'Empty'. Tibetan Monks cannot do that becuase it comes from the Caste system. Monks are superior! (that was the seed behind Tibetan slavery)
Qwerty: You tell me that I can't read and that people are "misinformed" and "brainwashed" if they question China's arms sales in Africa. Then you quote a Chinese "foreign minister" (ambassador?)to Japan to the effect that China has never done anything wrong in 5000 years. Give me a break. Isn't that like the Americans saying they have never done anything wrong because the government is still defending the war in Iraq? You have no critical thinking skills. You're a parrot. I'd fail you.
"You tell me that I can't read " then read it again!! In that post I 'invite' you to contradict the quote! I couldn't think of any perhaps my histry is rubbish, but it illustrate 1 pts China doesn't often interfere with other sovereign nation's affair
Go on, you give me an event in history where China is clearly in the wrong.
Appropos to nothing: When the Hutus killed a million Tutsis, people called it "genocide" but not "racism". How could it possibly be racism? There were no white people to blame. Except for maybe Romeo Canadian, but he was completely brainwashed and confused by the western media. That poor fool thought he could make the killing to stop!
(And yes, that's sarcasm for those of you who can't tell.)
Let me say also that I am very sorry to hear of the earthquake in southwestern China, but I'm encouraged to see that the Chinese government seems to be dealing with the crisis in an effective and transparent manner. I think China has made huge progress in the last few decades. So has the West. That's what we should focus on: progress and human development rather than history.
Free Tibet! Free East Turkistan! Free Inner Mongolia! Do you know Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989? Do you know that your government in Beijing made its soldiers kill students on June 4th, 1989? Can you imagine how students were run over by tanks at Tiananmen Square? It has been only 19 years! China (government) is repeating the same thing in Tibet today. It is too early for China to host Olympics. 六四天安門事件 watch?v=EPHEV5Sh0ls
Daniel: Maomikimirai did not say there were tanks in Lhasa. S/he did not lie about anything or even mention Nepal. Everything in the post is factual.
You are just an angry, angry person who is twisting everyone's words. You repeatedly use accusatory and disrespectful language.
You have an excuse for everything. In your opinion, has China ever, in its 5000 year history, done anything wrong? If your answer is "no", you need professional help. See a counselor at your school.
"has China ever, in its 5000 year history, done anything wrong" during a 'heated discourse' a Chinese foreign minister to Japan(I think) say "China in its long history has never comitted any crimes against any other country" ... something to that effect.. if you think otherwise let me know.
China sells guns to all sorts of murderous regimes: Darfur, Burma, Chad, Zimbabwe to name a few. Maybe you're okay with that. I'm not. I live in a free country and I have every right to express my opinion.
I find your comments on the Tibetans chilling. The Hutus called the Tutsis "cockroaches" before they committed the genocide. That's what I am reminded of. You are dehumanizing an entire race of people and justifying any type of treatment. And you call us racists.
"You are dehumanizing an entire race of people and justifying any type of treatment", you can't read; the critiism is on the Dalia Lama, the Tibetan especially the older generation would not want him back. To me the Tibetan people is Chinese, a part of China and you'll fine Tibetan's culture and way of life is very much respected in China. the riot are started by Monks, the DL's henchmen not the ordinary people.
Warycerry: Once again, if you re-read my post, you'll see I'm not accusing Maomikimirai of lying, I was referring to some of the pro-Tibet supporters. The closest I'd come to accusing him, was 'asking' if he was one of them.
Of course I think theres room for China to improve, what I'm angry at is the unjustified attacks on the Chinese people, such the burning of our flag, physically attacking the Chinese, etc; even though most of the 1.3 billion Chinese play no part in the actions of the govt.
Daniel: Playing the race card is a really cheap shot. If we are all racists, why would we care what happens to the Tibetans and to everyone else that is being screwed over by the CCP? Your argument doesn't even make any sense. You are just attacking me. Find another "gway po" (ghost woman) to lay your crap on. You've wasted enough of my precious time.
Do you hear me calling you a racist? No. And no I did not dismiss all this as racism. That was not the main point of my argument, that was a just another impact, aside from the others that I've already mentioned, of the Pro-Tibet protests on the Chinese people.
Don't try to dismiss my argument by accusing me of playing the racism card.
The "minor scuffles" were the result of ethnic nationalism. What happened in Tibet was not fueled by Chinese nationalism at all, what are you talking about?
warycherry, do you really think the Tibetan will get 'democracy' if the Dalai Lama gets in? can you image what it was like when Tibet was under the Dalai Lama? He used to own slaves, Laramism is based on caste system! He see himself as a 'God-King', he owns the lives of his subjects! He always say he is a 'simple monks' yet he never refuted the Laram's basic that he is the 14th REINCARNATED!
BFD. Christians think Mary was knocked up by the bearded guy in the sky, and that Eve was seduced by a talking snake. Americans took slaves too, as did many other nations.
Why aren't the Tibetans' beliefs considered to be an internal matter in a sovereign nation? Or does that argument only apply in business, (usually the arms business).
No, I don't think Tibetans are perfect, and yes, I've read Parenti.
I'm more concerned about China's policy in Darfur, Burma, Zimbabwe and so on.
If China were allowed to trade with Iraq like she can now do with these countries, perhaps 100,000 Iraqi children would not have died due to the US sanction and blockade. and perhaps the invasion which killed another 1M would not have happened.
Qwerty: Where exactly do you get the idea that I am for the invasion of Iraq? Do you think all white people support George Bush? I'm not even American. Aren't you just attacking me because of my race? I don't have the time or the inclination to correspond with angry, hateful, racist people like you. It's soul destroying. If your phone doesn't ring, it's me.
warycherry, if you are female I might pull a cheeky one and said "its the time of the month"
Iraq: I was trying to highlight what sanctions can results in. you did said you want sanctions? Re-read my comments and I can't for the life of me see anywhere where I even suggested that you supported the Iraqi war!!
I don't care what race you are! You are being pathetic.
Daniel is right you don't read or your ability to understand written enlgish is very poor.
And I can understand "enlgish" well enough to teach at well-recognized university, thank you. Is it possible that I understand what you are saying, but I just don't agree with you?
When did I "did said" I wanted sanctions? I don't even know what country you are talking about. I object to the fact that when anyone questions China, they are blamed for Iraq. I am against war and violence against all people. Wrap your head around that.
warycherry, I don't think you do teach enlgish at uni. Your arguments are weak and if you think I'm parrot then be aware that this parrot hasn't got its head in the sand unlike some english teaching!
"anyone questions China, they are blamed for Iraq" again, I didn't blame anyone for Iraq
when it comes to Darfur I am simply amazed at how misinformed, brainwashed ppl are! There is a civil WAR in Darfur. If China is to stop buying oil from the legitmate govn ppl say it will stop the govn, ok, but will this stop the Rebel group too? who is by the way supported by the French through Chad! the Western media is particularly disingenous in saying the Sudanese govn kills its own ppl. well yes since the rebel group is technically Sudanese!
Q: I know there is a civil war. The janjaweed militia is supported by the Sudanese government, and the government trades oil for guns with China. Some people question the legitimacy of a government that directly or indirectly kills its own citizens. Whether some are black and some are Arab doesn't matter to those of us who want the killing to stop. I have worked with African refugees, and I am sick of watching grown men cry. That's why I'm doing something about it. Because I can.
warycherry, you have critical thinking skills? then THINK! Let say China stop 'funding' the Sudan govn, the govn has no money to figth the Rebels. Do you think the Rebel will lay down their arms? The Rebel had recently attacked the capital. ppl died! Ask yourself again WHO is backing the Rebel? WHY do you think its wrong for the govn to kill the rebel yet you don't seemed to be bothered when the Rebel kills Sudanese?
We saw Tibetans burning shops, cars. We saw a "photoshoped" CNN photo which half of it was cut due to they don't want to show people how Tibetans were throwing stones at the trucks.
We saw riot police with shield formation protect themselves against rocks.
We also HEAR
"A voice in the background" saying "Chinese riot police opened fire".
can you not see the tibetians holding machetes???? lol, come on these ppl are the ones commiting hate crimes by targetting chinese CIVILIANS just for their racial origins, how bhuddist this is. i thought buddism taught love and peace not violence?
Just another totally biased reporting from the West. It is obvious that the police are using their shields to protect themselves from attacking Tibetans. You can see all the rocks thrown at them on the ground. This is "police brutality"??? You think the public is too STUPID to tell??? Also, this report only shows the Chinese police trucks moving in, but has purposefully not shown the throngs of attacking Tibetans to the right.
They are not 'Separatists', .. they are just not 'Chinese',.. they are ''Tibetan''!. They are already separate in culture.Just because you 'Rule it' by force does not make them Chinese. Bonn Evening... & Free Tibet
MrJimWinter: Let me remind you that China is made up of 57 ethnic minorities, including the Manchurians, the Mongolians, the Miao, the Tibetans, the Na-Si, etc... If the Tibetans are not Chinese as you claim, then the Cherokee, the Choctaws, the Sious, etc are all not Americans.
tibet has been part of china since the early ming dynasty. that's around 600years ago???? if tibet aint chinese. then american dont belong to the white ppl, and the french pacific islands are independant.
You don't need meddling foreign coverage into internal affairs of China!! Chinese LIKES to remain blissfully and harmoniously ignorant and ill-informed!! IT has been the Chinese way for 5,000 years!!!
Chinese government can pride itself of, in my opinion. Let's see: 1. Tops the world's execution numbers, trials are off limits to the public, no appeals and instant execution of" convicts" after the verdict. The Death Penalty in China is awarded for infractions such as tax evasion or theft...,
put that into ratios and oh look america is world's number 1 executor, coming from a country that runs gitmo and foriegn torture dungeons, you can hardly speak about human rights, solve your domestic injustices first hypocrits are intollerable.
China's pledge to improve their human rights record has been exposed as a lie. The only surprise is that we bought into it in the first place. ". . . by allowing Beijing to host the games you will help the development of human rights," said Olympic Games Bid Committee spokesperson Liu Jingmin in 2001
Instead, we've seen rather more typical measures employed by the Chinese regime.
Heavy-handed crackdowns in Tibet and Xinxiang. Martial law being imposed; protesters being beaten and shot. Amnesty International and Reporters without Borders advise of increases in the detention of "dissidents", and censorship of the internet. and NEWS MEDIA
What about the Kent State shootings (1970)? The protests were no where near as violent as the Lhasa riots.
In fact, some of the ones shot dead were only passers-by who were just watching, not trashing shops, burning cars or throwing rocks like the Tibetans.
The difference is Americans freaked out after Kent State. They didn't all line up to support the government the way the Chinese are doing. Neil Young wrote a (famous) song about Kent State and no one threw him in jail.
The fact that you had to go back nearly 40 years to find an example should tell you something.
Daniel008233: I agree that China hasn't had much time. You might start by looking at the American reaction to Kent State as a guide for how citizens behave in a democracy, rather than using the incident as an excuse for more mayhem.
The Chinese people are the ones who suffer from these protests when it is not they who control what the govt does. The protesters have burned our flag, attack our people and they're trying to screw the Olympics they're hosting. What more do you need to stir outrage from the Chinese?
The distorted/misleading China-bashing media reports only add fuel to the fire.
Its funny the pro-Tibetans say; a united people is invincible... well they've just united about a billion people against their cause.
Daniel: Let's see if I've got this right. You don't control what the government does, but you are united behind their cause? I think the Chinese government does take cues from the people, and that the people should take at least some responsibility for that. You can't have it both ways.
You say that China hasn't had as much time as the US to establish democracy, but your society is 5000 years old.
I'm fairly sure the majority of the 1.3billion people in China have absolutely no say in how the situation in Tibet is being handled. But who is being targeted? Who's hard work are they trying to ruin?
Secondly, what is "their cause"? We are united against the exploitation of the Olympics, and the attacks on the Chinese people. (e.g. physical attacks, burning of our flag)
And so what if China doesn't have democracy? Oh yeah, the US has democracy, therefore China should have it too.
Daniel: I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on whether public sentiment affects the CPP.
I got the phrase "their cause" from your earlier post.
Democracy isn't perfect, but it is the best system we have. For example, Canadians were against going to Iraq. The government listened to the people, because if they didn't they would lose an election. This didn't happen in the US, because of isolation, nationalist sentiment and biased media. That's what I'm against and I see it in China.
My bad. "Their cause" is ethnic nationalism. This is okay until it comes at the expense of others. Ethnic nationalism is at the root of some scary conflicts: Rwanda, the Balkans, the Middle East, and Hitler's European tour, to name a few. I'm not blaming China for all of that, but some of the rhetoric is familiar.
I'm not going to repeat everything I have written earlier on this forum. You seem more interested in arguing with me than in listening to what I have to say, anyway. Adios.
Well I can't argue with you if I'm not listening to you...
I can't quite see how our ethnic nationalism comes at the expense of others, its not like we've tried to start a riot or something, the worst thats happened were a few minor scuffles.
But on the other hand, protests against the Chinese govt have come at the expense of the ordinary Chinese person. And if you have a look at some of the youtube comments, its evident that this has given people an excuse to voice their racist thoughts.

Hundreds of thousands of Tibetans have DIED since the unjustified invasion of INDEPENDENT Tibet in 1949.
That is just one of the reasons why the riots happened.

(remove space)
Over 1.2 million Tibetans have died as a direct result of the Chinese invasion and occupation of Tibet. Today, it is hard to come across a Tibetan family that has not had at least one member imprisoned or killed by the Chinese regime. According to Jigme Ngabo, "after the suppressions of 1959 and 1969, almost every family in Tibet has been affected in some way".
There is heaps of good information at

The present Chinese leaders are deluded by their economic and military prowess
Genuine respect could be commanded only with moral authority.
They must understand that this could be achieved only by respecting the fundamental human rights in Tibet and China
China must peacefully resolve the Tibetan Issue that meets the aspiration of the Tibetan people and all other nationalities within China

I googled "Amnesty International Chinese" and a few other words and so far I can find NO sign of chinese dying in the 2008 Tibet riots.
Looks like Chinese dying in the 2008 riots is ONE BIG HOAX to me, just like Tiananmen 2001.

The so-called "Establishing a New Tibet" is aimed to thoroughly change Tibet.

redstormer75 3 years ago

Perhaps we should return to that point in history.
iamlumin 3 years ago
um... no, I'm fairly sure its because they're targeting them as an ethnic group, harassing them, trashing their property and even killing them, even though none of whom they attacked had any role in the decision making of the government. And burning our flag as well.

Tibetan is a language in its own right, not a dialect of Chinese.

maomikimirai 3 years ago
Yeah, thats what the pro-Tibet people want you to think, manipulating information to make it look like 1989. Or are you one of them?
IE
Armoured vehicles are NOT tanks
Nepelase Police are NOT Chinese police
Most of the riot police were carrying shields and batons, NOT guns.
The aim of lying about tanks being in Lhasa is to make people think it was Tienanmen 1989 all over again, which of course, is a big load of crap.
daniel008233 3 years ago
Daniel: Maomikimirai did not say there were tanks in Lhasa. S/he did not lie about anything or even mention Nepal. Everything in the post is factual.
You are just an angry, angry person who is twisting everyone's words. You repeatedly use accusatory and disrespectful language.
You have an excuse for everything. In your opinion, has China ever, in its 5000 year history, done anything wrong? If your answer is "no", you need professional help. See a counselor at your school.
warycherry 3 years ago
"has China ever, in its 5000 year history, done anything wrong" during a 'heated discourse' a Chinese foreign minister to Japan(I think) say "China in its long history has never comitted any crimes against any other country" ... something to that effect.. if you think otherwise let me know.
qwertyyau 3 years ago
China sells guns to all sorts of murderous regimes: Darfur, Burma, Chad, Zimbabwe to name a few. Maybe you're okay with that. I'm not. I live in a free country and I have every right to express my opinion.
I find your comments on the Tibetans chilling. The Hutus called the Tutsis "cockroaches" before they committed the genocide. That's what I am reminded of. You are dehumanizing an entire race of people and justifying any type of treatment. And you call us racists.
warycherry 3 years ago
"You are dehumanizing an entire race of people and justifying any type of treatment", you can't read; the critiism is on the Dalia Lama, the Tibetan especially the older generation would not want him back. To me the Tibetan people is Chinese, a part of China and you'll fine Tibetan's culture and way of life is very much respected in China. the riot are started by Monks, the DL's henchmen not the ordinary people.
BTW I didn't call you a racist!
qwertyyau 3 years ago
Millions of Tibetans don't feel "very much respected" in China. That's why they are protesting.
warycherry 3 years ago
Millions of Tibetans don't feel "very much respected"
where did you get the info from? heard it from the media? when was the last time you visited Tibet?
qwertyyau 3 years ago
Warycerry: Once again, if you re-read my post, you'll see I'm not accusing Maomikimirai of lying, I was referring to some of the pro-Tibet supporters. The closest I'd come to accusing him, was 'asking' if he was one of them.
Of course I think theres room for China to improve, what I'm angry at is the unjustified attacks on the Chinese people, such the burning of our flag, physically attacking the Chinese, etc; even though most of the 1.3 billion Chinese play no part in the actions of the govt.
daniel008233 3 years ago
Daniel: Playing the race card is a really cheap shot. If we are all racists, why would we care what happens to the Tibetans and to everyone else that is being screwed over by the CCP? Your argument doesn't even make any sense. You are just attacking me. Find another "gway po" (ghost woman) to lay your crap on. You've wasted enough of my precious time.
warycherry 3 years ago
Do you hear me calling you a racist? No. And no I did not dismiss all this as racism. That was not the main point of my argument, that was a just another impact, aside from the others that I've already mentioned, of the Pro-Tibet protests on the Chinese people.
Don't try to dismiss my argument by accusing me of playing the racism card.
The "minor scuffles" were the result of ethnic nationalism. What happened in Tibet was not fueled by Chinese nationalism at all, what are you talking about?
daniel008233 3 years ago
warycherry, do you really think the Tibetan will get 'democracy' if the Dalai Lama gets in? can you image what it was like when Tibet was under the Dalai Lama? He used to own slaves, Laramism is based on caste system! He see himself as a 'God-King', he owns the lives of his subjects! He always say he is a 'simple monks' yet he never refuted the Laram's basic that he is the 14th REINCARNATED!
qwertyyau 3 years ago
I'm more concerned about China's policy in Darfur, Burma, Zimbabwe and so on.
warycherry 3 years ago
"a sovereign nation"? a nation rule by a Religion? A religion based on caste system? A leader and a God!?
for a start do you really think the other religions and believes will be tolerated?

when it comes to Darfur I am simply amazed at how misinformed, brainwashed ppl are! There is a civil WAR in Darfur. Q: I know there is a civil war. The janjaweed militia is supported by the Sudanese government, and the government trades oil for guns with China. Some people question the legitimacy of a government that directly or indirectly kills its own citizens. This is a very complicated situation, and it is best for all countries not to sell arms to Africa.
BTW, Cambodians are still killing each other with the arms they got from China in the late 1970s.

So WHERE WAS "Chinese police open fire"??
In this video,
We saw Tibetans burning shops, cars.
But where was the video of it??
How dumb do you think I am?

Just another totally biased reporting from the West. It is obvious that the police are using their shields to protect themselves from attacking Tibetans. You can see all the rocks thrown at them on the ground. This is "police brutality"??? You think the public is too STUPID to tell??? Also, this report only shows the Chinese police trucks moving in, but has purposefully not shown the throngs of attacking Tibetans to the right.

Not police killing people

What about the Kent State shootings (1970)? The protests were no where near as violent as the Lhasa riots.
In fact, some of the ones shot dead were only passers-by who were just watching, not trashing shops, burning cars or throwing rocks like the Tibetans.
daniel008233 3 years ago
The difference is Americans freaked out after Kent State. They didn't all line up to support the government the way the Chinese are doing. Neil Young wrote a (famous) song about Kent State and no one threw him in jail.
The fact that you had to go back nearly 40 years to find an example should tell you something.

warycherry: "The fact that you had to go back nearly 40 years to find an example should tell you something."
China has only just recovered from what use to be an impoverished nation, it has not progressed as far as the US in terms of human rights or whatever.
How do you expect China to adopt all the modern-day values of a developed nation straight away?
Note: People among the dead in the Kent state shootings weren't even protesting.
daniel008233 3 years ago
Daniel008233: I agree that China hasn't had much time. You might start by looking at the American reaction to Kent State as a guide for how citizens behave in a democracy, rather than using the incident as an excuse for more mayhem.

The Chinese people are the ones who suffer from these protests when it is not they who control what the govt does. The protesters have burned our flag, attack our people and they're trying to screw the Olympics they're hosting. What more do you need to stir outrage from the Chinese?
The distorted/misleading China-bashing media reports only add fuel to the fire.
Its funny the pro-Tibetans say; a united people is invincible... well they've just united about a billion people against their cause.
daniel008233 3 years ago
Daniel: Let's see if I've got this right. You don't control what the government does, but you are united behind their cause? I think the Chinese government does take cues from the people, and that the people should take at least some responsibility for that. You can't have it both ways.
You say that China hasn't had as much time as the US to establish democracy, but your society is 5000 years old.
warycherry 3 years ago
I'm fairly sure the majority of the 1.3billion people in China have absolutely no say in how the situation in Tibet is being handled. But who is being targeted? Who's hard work are they trying to ruin?
Secondly, what is "their cause"? We are united against the exploitation of the Olympics, and the attacks on the Chinese people. (e.g. physical attacks, burning of our flag)
And so what if China doesn't have democracy? Oh yeah, the US has democracy, therefore China should have it too.
daniel008233 3 years ago
Daniel: I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on whether public sentiment affects the CPP.
I got the phrase "their cause" from your earlier post.
Democracy isn't perfect, but it is the best system we have. For example, Canadians were against going to Iraq. The government listened to the people, because if they didn't they would lose an election. This didn't happen in the US, because of isolation, nationalist sentiment and biased media. That's what I'm against and I see it in China.
warycherry 3 years ago
Well if you read my comment more carefully, you'll see that when I say "their cause", I'm referring the goal of the Pro-Tibet protesters.
What you said was: "You don't control what the government does, but you are united behind their cause?"
When you say "their cause" you're referring to the Chinese govt. So, you haven't really answered my question of, "What is 'their cause'?"
daniel008233 3 years ago
Adios.
warycherry 3 years ago
Well I can't argue with you if I'm not listening to you...
I can't quite see how our ethnic nationalism comes at the expense of others, its not like we've tried to start a riot or something, the worst thats happened were a few minor scuffles.
But on the other hand, protests against the Chinese govt have come at the expense of the ordinary Chinese person. And if you have a look at some of the youtube comments, its evident that this has given people an excuse to voice their racist thoughts.
