FYI, opening a window to equalize pressure is an old tornado myth. And there are a number of reasons why getting into a ditch isn't necessarily your best option either. I have been through three tornadoes: 2 in Nebraska and 1 here in NC and I think she's stupid. There's NO WAY I would stay in a car that was about to be hit by a tornado, nor would I attempt to outrun one. I'd much rather get dirty in a ditch and stay alive.

A vehicle can go airborne, and become a mangled mess of metal and auto-plastic. Tornadoes can be even more dangerous when they looked unformed and ragged like this, because people don't always take them seriously or even recognize what they are. But yeah, even if you don't see the funnel touching the ground, something like this can still kill you. It can be deadly.
