  • yes, it works.

    tap: deal 1 dmg

remove a counter: add 1 mana

    pay 1, add counter: untap.

    rinse repeat

  • infinite combo my ass with the first one you can deal 4 dmg tops.you need eventide's quilspike to remove the minus counters from morselhoarder for this to work properly

  • i don't get how does the 1st combo benefit you,

u remove 2 counters to get 2 mana and u spent 2 to get 2 counters back, doesn't it just go in loops?, the closest thing to a benefit i can see is to be able to give u different colour manas, but is it worth it for a tot of 9 drop?

  • @darkness957 probably not worth it for the mana, but the whole point is not to get mana, but to untap the creature. That's why power of fire is there, because UNtapping infinite times also means you can TAP it infinite times, and deal infinite (or "arbitrarily large") damage.

  • I hate new cards...can't people make an attempt to use the classics...like hermatic study instead of power of fire...

  • I don't get how this goes infinite.... It makes 1 mana for taking off a -1/-1 but it costs 1 mana to get one.

  • @PicklesTehClown morselhoarder is a 6/4, it comes into play with 2 -1/-1 counters on it. The aura Sinking Feeling lets you untap a creature if you put a -1/-1 counter on it. Enchanting it with another aura like power of fire for instance gives it the ability to tap to deal 1 damage.

Therefor you take off a -1/-1 counter to give lets just say green mana, use that mana to activate Sinking Feeling to untap the Morselhoarder. which means you can tap for 1 dmg, untap, tap for 1 dmg, etc.get it now?

  • @Grotesk

Oh haha sorry yeah i see it now. thanks. Its still kinda slow for my liking but not too too shabby

  • Are you taking your a opponent for an idiot? There are always ways around douche bag combos like this. A prison term will take care of it. there are many auras like prison term for defense. There are many other ways to get around this.

  • wait im kinda new to mtg so that sinking feeling it say creature doesn't untap during its controler's untap step so like it can never be tap backed?

  • And with the new cards from Scars of Mirrodin, you could also equip it with heavy arbalest, dealing 2 damge instead

  • @brushinmateef08 This is not an infinite combo - you can stop it any time you want. If you have an oblivion ring in play, and somehow no other target (somehow everything else was destroyed but you still had the mana to cast it), then play another one exiling it, then play a third, that's an infinite combo because each time an o-ring comes in to play, it exiles another, which brings another back in exiling another, etc etc etc, which you can't stop voluntarily. This, you can.

  • @lifeinsepia dude your an idiot learn your terms and then go play some magic

  • woah nice combo i will try it :D

  • hmm nice combo

I still prefer mana echoes, and sliver queen. Especially if you have heart sliver out.

  • well the power of fire is awesome but the elves lol u better hope the dont play a consume the week :D or damnation lol but its still a nice combo

  • Will of fire how do you do the dommage ? the creature doesnt get tapped...?

  • Or you could do Devoted Druid and Quillspike to have a huge guy to Rite of Consumption on turn 4.

  • you can just use fireball and pwn... and if you'd use Flourishing Defenses they could just use fog... same with Power of Fire they could just use Naturalize o-o

  • @zatch258 in response to them casting either of those instants, you'd just keep doig what you were doing. The infinite damage would resolve before either of the green spells resolved.

  • alrady the secon combo is impossible!!!!!!

    one damage is not -1/-1!!!!!

  • Also works with presence of Gond...

I pulled this of several times in draft, my favorite draft ever =)

  • in regaurds to the infinite number of elves, you can get that same effect utilyzing 2 older cards, Squirrels Nest and Earthcraft, Squirrels nest allows you to tap a land and put a squirrels creature token into play, Earthcraft allows you to tap a creature to untap a land, simple infinite combo and if you wanna be a dirk, play Squirrel Mob, all Squirrel creatures get +1/+1 for each other Squirrel in play XP, Prepare to meet your Squirrely Fate

  • If people need to use infinite to win a game they are sore losers. Its a game, your suppose to win and lose sometimes, no one will play against you if your going to be GAY!

  • once u pull one in a game though its like the sickest thing ever

  • you can only create 4 tokens, since the creature is only 6/4 and will die after 4 -1/-1 counters ..

  • You remove the counters for mana....however mana burn...if it was around anymore. I heard they got rid of it :(

  • @AzulArmal the mana is spent on untapping it an putting another -1/-1 counter on.

  • you're indeed right, which is why I stated my squirrels of doom strat lol

  • This is why I hate shadowmoor.

Good thing it isn't standard anymore.

Almost everything in there was pretty broken.

  • Doesnt make sense your shit would die

  • Wouldn't the number of tokens be limited to amount of mana you have? And if that is so would it even be worth killing your own 6/4 at that point.. probably not. get real tokens

  • Read the ability of morselhoarder. I thought it would die too. It provides an infinite amount of mana and -1/-1 tokens, because you're removing them from the creature, thus allowing you to keep the creature alive while continuing to place -1/-1 tokens on other creatures.

  • Comment removed

  • ELF HOARD!

  • Masterhakk.... what he meant is that you can use this abilities an infinite number of times.... not that the abilities are literally infinite.

  • Devoted Druid/Quillspike FTW

  • wouldnt moarselhoarder die?

  • He is removing the -1/-1 counters from itself to give you the mana, all you have to do is make sure there is one -1/-1 counter on him in order to use that ability. Thanks to the enchantment he can put the -1/-1 counter back on himself :) since power of fire taps the creature anyway why not cast it in succession with adding the -1/-1 counter. Makes it too simple I guess. Well I agree with Emnisevil Sanaver though Devouted Druid/Quillspike FTW!!!!

  • A very simple combo is torture+grim poppet. I've had this used against me... it's godamn annoying

  • I've always been fond of the Voice of the Woods and Intruder Alarm Combo. All you need is 5 cheap elves ( which isn't hard to find ! ) a Voice of the Woods and an Intruder Alarm. If your opponent doesn't catch onto it, you can summon an infinite amount of 7-7 Trampling elementals.

  • everybody makes a mistake you know, it's the combo is still gud n_n

  • you could skip the whole power of fire and just use flourishing defenses with the moarselhoarder with the sinking feeling attached.

  • Yeah, but what can you do with infinite damage, if your opponent has Pariah and any Creature with Heart of Light? Nothing.

That is a good combo, but in turn 6 you'r always death. And there are better ways to get a second round kill:

1st turn: Swamp, Dark Ritual and Buried Alive(put Sutured Ghoul and two Krosan Cloudscraper in the Graveyard)

2nd turn: Swamp and Exhume, put the Ghoul in to Play and remove the Cloudscraper. Now you have a 26/26 Trample in the 2nd turn.

  • Learn how to read Titles dude

    --mtg "shadowmoor" infinite combo!--

and the combo you said isn't an infinite combo nor is it 2nd turn kill, It would be 3rd turn because he doesn't have haste. Grats to you, you've just been ranted.

  • Another cool infinite is Devoted Druid+Quillspike. Squillspike has B/G, Remove a -1/-1 counter on a creature you control: Quillspike gets +3/+3 until end of turn. Devoted Druid has T: Add one green color to your mana pool AND Put a -1/-1 counter on devoted druid: Untap devoted druid. Nuff said =D

Also, according to the rules, "If an ability can be used an infinity number of times, and a player can interrupt it, he or she says how many times the ability should be used". Not exactly, but still =D

  • may sound weird but go blue green, throw in wake thrasher, i'm surprised i never put these 2 cards together then again i'm not a big fan of the -1 -1 counter concept so i never really looked for the combos

  • infact i've gotten the giant the sinking feeling in the same booster pack, i must be blind

  • This is just impossible, remenber Morselhoarder have 4 resistance. So you can only put 3 -1/-1 counters on it. Becouse if you put 4, it will die cuz a creature is destroyed when got 0 or less resistance.

All I said in this post is true lool

  • yeah, except you remove he counters from the moarselhoarder to get mana, to fuel the combo

  • nope, when you add the -1/-1 counters, you take the counters off to spend mana so you can create mana. so technically it wouldn't die. it would only minus 1, then plus 1 over and over.

  • well that's if you doubt the morselhoarder could do the combo without dying Firetapia

  • Ive got 2 awesome sliver cards that I can use their effects to get infinity mana.

  • another somewhat fast combo is tidewater minion, enchanted with freed from the real, as long as you have a dimir aqueduct, you can keep using freed from to untap tidewater, then use tide water to untap the aqueduct... basically, infinit black mana

  • hey, thats cool!

  • On the 500,000 max, haven't heard of it, but the standard convention is you declare how many times you do it. There are several ways to make this combo work, Mana Reflection into infinite Blaze, Elemental Mastery, if you want to get really wierd, Shields of Velis Vel and Drowner of Secrets. Before slagging this off, actually have a look at the MTG Database and see that there are LOTS of things you can do off of this. Kudos to you Gerbilguy, the only real criticism, too slow for competions.

  • thanks for the rules backup, infernal.

and this wasnt really supposed to be a good competitive combo in constructed. I think it would be cool in a draft or sealed tournament, because those decks are slower and can support weird combos like this one

  • nothing in mtg is infinite if you can do something an infinite number of times in a turn u have a max of 500,000 times instead still pretty sweet though

  • are you sure the max is 500k times?

ive never heard that rule, and it sounds like a useless rule.

  • no, because seeker of skybreak taps to untap itself an infinite number of times, but you can't do 2 tap abilities at the same time

  • you could ping someone with the Perfect Elf combo. It is...

Get Llanowar Elf, the Perfect, and Intruder alarm, all cheap. Tap Llanowar for G, use it for the Perfect and make an elf token. Intruder alarm says that wen a creature comes into play, all creatures untap. This makes an endless cycle of elves. Just have a pinger and you can untap it as many times as you need.

  • yeah, i think that works

  • could you use seeker of skybreak and power of fire for a combo?

  • ok maybe i should look harder at the combo sorry. boy do i feel stupid

  • there is no way that this would work you have to pay one mana to use the sinking feeling to put the -1 counters on the other creature i mean you can do a little but not infnite if you where good you would know this or maybe you should think about the combo before you post somthing so stupid

  • this video was posteed before quillspike existed

  • why not just play quillspike combo? an infinite combo that does something unlike the first.

  • you know, that combo may be inifnite but technically useless as all it does is use the mana you just popped out. I mean yea great if you need a plains but only have islands availble but other than that...

  • Presence of Gond would work 2 so thats 3 diffrent ways to pull off the "combo" and all but flurishing defenses are in the common slot, which means it might work in draft

  • wait nvm, you have to first tap him to keep the the combo up so power of fire is the only way you can keep it up but once you have power of fire, morselhoarder, and sinking feeling out you should be fine.

  • you can take the -1-1 counters and turn them into mana which this combo works out great with as a mana source also. But if you go with the power of fire you have a chance of mana burning yourself due to a card that prevents all damage.

  • No the -1 -1 counters are removed by sinking feeling.

  • Ummm.. What in the fuck are you smoking?... The -1/-1 counters are placed on the fuckin card by sinking feeling...thats the whole point.

  • Wouldnt the creature die after 4 -1-1 ? Im just wondering

  • no...b/c you can take them off with his ability and you use the mana to do it again with sinking feeling
