  • YES....YSR50's are road legal. You need to have purchased one with a TITLE. Engine number matching title numbers in most states. I know California is a stickler with that engine VIN and frame VIN matching the title numbers.

  • hey are the ysr 50's road legal?

  • Wow, 200cc 2 stroke that thing must be pretty fun to drive! Sounds pretty cool too!

  • YSR's were made by Yamaha here in the US from the early-mid 80's to mid 90's. Yamaha no longer makes them but...they are always for sale on ebay. just type YSR on ebay and you will see them available. good luck.

  • is YSR the name of the bike and can you get these online

  • I didn't know Artie Lang rode motorcycles

  • dude that was a funny comment.

  • go and show riding not jerkin the throttle

  • I believe the top speed is round 90mph or so.

A friend of mine who now has it has taken it up past 80 I believe.....it screamed this little beast.

  • unfortunately I have since sold my beloved YSR-Blaster. there's pictures all over the net with the paint scheme I did. Did the Rossi yellow/black/white anniversary colors.

  • Well i Can See it's a 2 stroke,

  • crisp. sounds great. getting hard to find now. allways wanted a blue one.

  • Top speed please?

  • 60 70

  • i dunno but that was fricken sick

  • are they mini street bikes? because they look smaller then a croch rocket

  • Yes they are mini street bikes. Bigger than big pocket bikes and legal pretty much everywhere!! A friend of mine used to have one when he was in high school! They are alot of fun!!

  • yeh 200 cc small scoter ... idiot...

  • have you modded it any sence this vid, like the 240cc ? bet this thing does haul ass it makes me almost want one

  • is this a bike or scooter?

  • This is definately no scooter!!1....The YSR was originally produced by Yamaha in the late 80's early 90's...then Yamaha stopped making them when California banned two smokers and the market simply died down. There are many YSR's still remaining and riders hopped them up (such as transplanting 200cc 2-stroke blaster engines in them- which is equivalent to a 400 four stroke). This is definately a motorcycle....NO SCOOTER here my friend...this thing hauls arse!!!

  • Ok man thanks, just enevr seen them before. It just looks so small I thought it was a modified scooter. Maybe I can find one somewhere. Take care my Brethren....

  • It's not a scooter but here in New Zealand they get registered as mopeds which means that anyone over 15 y. can ride it on a minimum of a car learner license! There is also no WOF (warrant of fitness) requirement for "mopeds".

  • I have a ysr powered with 1989 tzr 125 engine it runs 150kph at 400m drag race...how about your? how fast does it goes?

  • can you drive a ysr with just a learners permit?

  • YOU GOT PLATES! please someoen help me i want to make a NSF100 street legal, any tips!? Thnak you. Wicked bike by the way!

  • Thanks...yes I got plates!!! And to boot, the engine serial number AND the frame serial number match the numbers on the "title" fi you can believe that. The fellow I bought this project Motogp YSR from was able to get it this way. I'm just in the process of tweaking the bike a bit with regards to paint scheme, lights, wiring, etc...but for the most part 90% of came done already. it is a wild ride to say the least. on a crips day...man look out. it's a stump puller.

  • nice big 2stroke like it is there a conversion kit out there?

  • no real conversion kit per say. A friend of mine in Ft. Lauderdale FL (about 30 miles up the road) does a Yerbi (YSR with Derbi engine) conversion kit that he sells. But there is no real conversion kit for a "blaster" implant. you have to mode the frame too much with boxed in plates and stronger sub-craddles.

  • guess I'm stuck with a little 80cc kit tnx anywaze post some more ausome 200cc ysr action please -_-

  • quite honesly, the yerbi (derbi 72cc engine) is the better choice for this bike's conversion. Less frame mods (way less frame mods), newer engine, parts are somewhat accessible, nice strong pipe mid and top end grunts....I had a yerbi. it was a great bike. ran like a champ. this is a stump-puller but the Yerbi conversion is better.....trust me.

  • I just put a vid of my YSR on you tube

  • I bet that is fast whats it do all out?

  • ummm...well. I just got the license plate on it so....I don't really know yet what it'll do all out....

I'm looking to paint it yellow/white/black on the yamaha motogp 2005 anniversary. I'll post the photos and a video when I get her painted but it wont be for some time....

    thanks for commenting.

  • thanks for the commentaries guys. appreciated. First and foremost...my good friend "Dr. Ray" (aka YSR/Blaster guru) is 100% responsible for the doing all the work on this bike since I've owned it. Ray even boxed in and welded the frame at the main joint point. The bike is (to quote Ray) "..a stump puller Rob"...and it sure is...pulls like a raped ape....fun too. I'll try to post me coming down the stree in it when I get a good sunny day.

  • o, and post some vids of u drivin it, that would be cool.

  • wow excellent job, are those billet rims? i take it thats a custom welded exhaust, did the engine bolt right up?, very very cool, excellent job, those blaster motors are very modifyable too, and relieable. nice work

  • aluminun billet rims..yes. custom exhaust from the one and only...Tommy Crawford. My next (when I can afford it) mod will be the Vito 240 cc head kit. I understand this is a pretty realiable upgrade which will produce 38+ HP.

  • just make sure ur tranny is in good shape when u do that 240, and when u get it resleeved, have them port it out. i will def be waiting for that vid of u driving it, i will subscribe

  • That's pretty kick ass dude. I guess you've figured out the wiring issues then?

  • Well. I really didn't figure out anything. My friend, Ray from Ft. Lauderdale, does these conversions as a hobby. His specialty is making those "Yerbi" bikes. Those are the YSR50's converted to a Derbi engine (50 cc or 72cc). Those are probably the best conversions around. I just wanted to try this "Blaster" project only because, well, I wanted more 'torque' outta this little gem. As Ray puts it....."it's a stump puller Rob"...

    Next comes the paint job.
