Am here now with my parents. If mom makes it a couple more weeks, they'll celebrate #70. Healthcare needs have forced them to live in separate wings of their residence, but they still see each other almost daily. This song just rings home to my heart.

Even after Alzheimer's took many of those years from my grandmother's mind my grandfather was right there by her side reminding her, helping her and loving her. He was there with her the night she passed holding her the best he could. Through all of the frustrations, anger and sadness that came with Alzheimer's he never for one moment stopped loving her with all his heart.

@srnale i love reading that. my grandparents have been married for 57 years... my grandpa was diagnosed with alzheimers about a year ago but luckily his medicine keeps him in his right mind for now. he also just had a major aneurysm surgery ...it was so sweet seeing them kiss each other on the cheek and holding hands..she "complains" about having to make him sandwhiches and stuff lol but i just smile because i KNOW she loves it and will never leave his side :)

Both 85 and when one of them fell and had to go to the hospital he stayed in the hospital by his wifes side never leaving it.

Love Love love this song! It will be a yr in September since we lost my mom and my brother due to cancer! And this song reminds me of how my dad was always by my moms side! Goodness do I Miss them Sooo much! My heart still breaks!

This song so reminds me of the beautiful elderly couples at my church. There is love in there eyes still after so many years. One of those men calls his beautiful wife "my bride". Beautiful.

This song brought tears to my eyes. It is the story of my grandparents- high school sweethearts married nearly 60 years. Even after Alzheimer's took many of those years from my grandmother's mind my grandfather was right there by her side reminding her, helping her and loving her. He was there with her the night she passed holding her the best he could. Through all of the frustrations, anger and sadness that came with Alzheimer's he never for one moment stopped loving her with all his heart.

@srnale my husbands grandparents were together over 60 yrs and he passed before her but she to suffered from Alzheimer and this song would be exactly what he would do .He would come get her when it was her turn and walk her home, and as her daughters sat with her this morning when she passed a rainbow formed in the sky as they went to the hospital and the nurse opened the window and she had soon taken her last breath.You will be so missed Mi-mom but you both will remain in our hearts forever <3.

@srnale My family is experiencing the exact same situation now. It's such a terrible disease, robbing you of memories and dignity. My grandfather has influenced me through his strength more than he'll ever know, with the love and devotion he has shown to my grandmother through all this trial.

@srnale i love reading that. my grandparents have been married for 57 years... my grandpa was diagnosed with alzheimers about a year ago but luckily his medicine keeps him in his right mind for now. he also just had a major aneurysm surgery ...it was so sweet seeing them kiss each other on the cheek and holding hands..she "complains" about having to make him sandwhiches and stuff lol but i just smile because i KNOW she loves it and will never leave his side :)

Wow! This morning my wife and I were brought to tears. Eights years ago I faced a brain surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation with a COMMITTED sweet wife. I thank the LORD for sustaining me, through suffering, to bring us to our 20th anniversary!

Love that song. I cry every time. It reminds me of my grandparents who were married for 60 years and my grandmother died around 85 years old. She wasn't at a nursing home, but still its very similar.
