  • My father loved her and he taught us to!

  • Great music, I love it. I live in the UK and if it was not for broadband, I would not be able to listen to this music. We dont have any radio chanels that play it, just the odd program now and again.

  • I love Miss Kitty..when I was growing up i listened to her all the time. When i was real young and they would annouce her on the radio I thought it was me singing because I was named after her...my name is Kitty wells Gregory. i feel honored to have been named for her!!!

  • A lot of you are right. She was truly the Queen of Country Music. I had such a crush on her when I was young. I was only about 12 then but every time she came on the radio I was mesmerized.

  • @JohnC5700 Me too !! My Mom had me growing up to Kitty, Hank, and Eddie...but like you, when I was 10 or 12, I never even knew what she looked like but I was absolutely in love with her whenever I heard her..

  • when I hear songs like that I howl like a dog for some reason, maybe I'm a werewolf

  • Such a pretty lady.

  • yes..u guys..all the real talent, the real women of C & W are gone..from Mama Maybelle Carter, June, the one & only Patsy Cline..(the queen) :) to Wanda Jackson, Loretta, Dolly with Porter..& of course Kitty..they were the best, because their roots were humble..they were untouched by all the glitz & glamour...carried themselves as "ladies"..which are hard to find these days.."LADY"...with all the junk out there..a LADY..is not easy to find any more..isn't that sad? there are however a few

  • i think kitty was the best country singer that ever live she got the vocie.

  • @TheCRAZYGUY11ify Amen, brother.

  • This is my favorite by the true queen of country music. Thank you, Miss Kitty!

  • @8626John hmmm idk about that i think miss loretta lynn is the true queen of country music lol

  • @panthers0910001 Loretta is great too, but for me, Kitty is the Queen.

  • This is excellent. Laura

  • I love this old stuff Patsy Porter Kitty Wells my parents raised me right

  • I'm 15 years old and I can still say this is my favorite music. Proud to say it too. This is real music, with real lyrics that deal with true feelings & situations. I like some new music, but my heart is with REAL country music forever. I've only seen one artist in concert (George Jones) but I can tell from the recordings these artists sing from their heart. Never will another genre of music touch my heart like country music.

  • @riorocketxo thats true no one beats people such as loretta lyn ,patsy cline, hank.sr ,hank jr ect.

  • Wonderful

  • Did Phil Chittum write this song?

  • Comment removed

  • @ryanbutlerluver97 This song was written by Carl Butler.

  • One of my favorites from Kitty

  • I wish I could find Kitty Wells version of "BJ the DJ" I have not heard it in years.

  • ernest monias

  • Beautiful!

  • real country

  • Love Kitty Wells version.Real country music by a real country legend.

  • This is ok but she's no Laura Bell Bundy. Praise Jesus that country has gotten so much better over the years!

  • @locdogg18750 I don't know what you mean by Kitty being "no Laura Bell Bundy". Thank goodness she's not. Laura is only a fair singer - another cute blonde who's been acting in theater who, like many others younger actors, want to get a break in country music. She's from my home town and I am glad for her success but as for her making country music better - that's a joke. She, like many others, likes to kick up her heels, shake her booty and hope to become an icon like Kitty Wells. - Paula

  • I love this song!

  • What a resonant beautiful voice!

  • What a voice!! What passion she sings with!!!

  • Credited to Carl Butler, but written and sold by Arthur Q Smith. One of the better versions.

  • @welshhillbillyful .......I know Arthur sold a lot of his songs, but I didn't know this was one of them. Jreb

  • @Jrebindixie Use your search engine, there are some excellent articles about him.

  • @welshhillbillyful ... thanks I'll do that. Arthur's exwife (widow) told me a lot of good stories. Shame he never got the credit for so many of his songs. Jreb

  • I love Kitty :-)

  • You know, I tend bar in a legion and when songs like this comes on the stereo the guys and gals sit in somber silence. There is something about this particular song that gets to everyone.

  • @ogilvie43

I agree with you on this.

  • I am looking for Kitty Well song, Kill him with kindness... do you know where I could find it?

  • Love this woman's voice cannot believe she is still going on wonder is she still singing? These gals were the best, Kitty, Patsy, Loretta, Dottie, Tammy, Jean Shepard, Connie Smith, you do not get any better then these ladies. All you have today is boobs and electronics. Wanda Jackson is another great under rated gal.

  • @walknaftrmdnght Miss Kitty celebrates her 91st birthday today. She is retired, and lives in Nashville with her husband, Johnnie Wright. They celebrate their 73rd anniversary in Oct.

  • What a voice

  • Like so many things in my younger years in the 40 and 50's I didn't realize what treasures we had. Just compare that age with todays CW(?) music.

  • Kitty was one of my favorite CW singers in the 50s when I was growing up in DC. Used to listen on WARL in Arlington, VA. Anyone remenber that station, with the amazing Muntz TV ads,

    Thanks for posting this!

  • Also remember this from th 50s. Listening to AFN broadcast from Germany, and listening up in the wilds of Scotland. on an old MacMichael valve radio.

  • i'll love you forever, kitty. lots of love to you; bill

  • Now, here's a lady singing a song with meaning - unlike the trash today's sluts are producing. Kitty, Loretta, Mama Maybelle, Dottie, Anita and your like - you are sorely missed.

  • Humbug! I feel sorry for ya if you can't hear a lot of the same beauty in Kitty Wells, Kellie Pickler, Miranda Lambert, Tanya Tucker and more.

  • @Canucklug Amen to that

  • @dirtydave1937 i think loretta sings this better then kitty but she can sing it good

  • @dirtydave1937 She sure is... I use to listen to country music all the time, just the oldies for me now, not the new stuff!!!

  • @dirtydave1937 Yes, Country music is gone forever.

Can someone help me I have a song "Money, Marbles or Chalk and I think someone lady with the last name Anderson sang it.

  • :P My mom always tells me I sound like Kitty Wells...and I wasn't even sure who she was.

  • The song is "Money, Marbles and Chalk", and you're thinking of Liz Anderson.

Patti Page recorded the best known and biggest selling version of the song, in 1949.

    Both versions are excellent.

  • Thank You. Could you tell me where i can find this song sang by either artists? I have searched and some up with nothing.

  • I don't believe the Liz Anderson version is available on CD. Your best bet would be to find it on a Patti Page greatest hits compilation CD. Run a search on Google, Amazon etc. under the song title and her name. I know Reader's Digest Canada has the song on a Patti Page CD set, but it isn't cheap. :-)

  • @InfiniteMusic Lynn Anderson is my cousin (That's Liz Andersons daughter).

  • grew up on country and Kitty was alway my favorite. Is she still alive.

  • Kitty Wells is truly a country music legend. She is alive and well and resides in Nashville. She will be 88 on August 30, 2007. She and her husband Johnny Wright, who is also a country legend, will be celebrating their 70th anniversary in October, 2007.

  • Yes kitty is still alive she presented an award or something to loretta Lynn not to long ago

  • I saw Kitty Wells in concert when I was a little girl. I love this singer. Not sure if she's alive yet or not.

  • This is my theme song.

  • Kitty Wells is the best of all country music (greatest)I listen to her when i was a child growing up.
