Hamilton has been helped by McLaren his whole life.In 2007 McLaren should have kept De la Rosa,an experienced driver.But no,Martin Whitmarsh has known hamilton since he was 11,so it`s visible.If Massa was helped by Ferrari his whole life then 2008 would have been different for sure.But I have to say that Hamilton deserved th championship.I`m a Ferrari fan but i have to say Hamilton would have had more wins without the Spa penalty

But do not forget that he was the youngest champion ever and the first rookie of the history of F1 that finish 2nd in his first year (and none says that). Also he was a champion with not the best car or a "red bull car" which looks more like a plane than a car. also massa in 2008 was 6-7 years in the F1 with a better car, and Hamilton was in his second year. he deserved to be the champion more than massa for sure.

Lewis deserved to be Champion in 2007 - not in 2008. Now, everyone is actually 'bullying' Massa, cause he has made stupid things and driving really bad. But in 2008 he made a really great job, but Ferrari made him lost the champioship with mistakes and blowing up engines. Even though, Massa won 6 races and did 6 poles, overshadowing the 'world champion' Kimi Häikkönen -> this guy did NOT deserve to be champion, but yes Lewis in 2007 @IcemanAthens.

It all evens out over the course of a season. Massa can look to his engine going at Hungary with just 3 laps to go. Hamilton can point to Raikkonen gifting Massa a win and also the penalty he was given at Spa. Toyota were gambling on keeping Glock out on dry tyres to get more points. It worked for them too. We all know, though, that dry tyres in pouring rain doesn't mix. No conspiracy theories needed, over the course of 2008, Hamilton was a worthy champion - just. Even Massa said that.

@TheArthur1: More simple than that - the Ferrari pit crew basically lost Massa the WDC when their fancy light system malfunctioned and released him from his pit stop with the fuel hose still attached, leaving him to drag the fuel hose down the pit lane.  Massa was just unlucky.

Motorsport is like that - you can drive brilliantly, and the outcome still depends on luck.
