he was born a days drive east of moscow in 1978 in sverdlovsk. the population is 900,000 and he lived there and played in the russian league. he was drafted in 1998 but didn't come over until the 2001-02 season where the wings used him as a defensive foreward because he can take the puck without even breaking a sweat.now sverdlovsk changed its name to yaketerinberg because sverlov was one of the men that worked with josef stalin and vladimir lenin. get your facts right.

Datsyuk is a great shinny player...But plays scared in the war that is the NHL playoffs...I've seen him beat a guy to the puck by 5ft and turn away from the corner because he knew he was going to get hit...No fluke his playoff stats are non existent

easily one of if not the greatest stickhandler in the NHL. this movie is 7 minutes long. i sat here and watched it for almost 35 minutes replayed the moves trying to figure out wtf he is doing and how hes doing it. hes amazing. i cant believe some of the things you can think of doing and then actually do it on the ice, in an NHL game, with the game on the line, and still pull it off.
