  • he didn't make depth

  • That's how everybody should squat. Period. If we have rules about how wide to go with bench grip than there should be also rules for a squat and deadlift. Sumo deadlift makes my laugh everytime I see it. Just ridiculous. And those sumo good morning lockouts...grrr

  • Great stuff. Infinitely more impressive than the 1200 pound 3 inch squats by Donnie Thompson and all them. Not to knock them, but I've never been a fan of equipped lifts and super wide 3 inch squats. ATG all the way

  • WOW

  • i think he hit depth guys.

  • You have my respect

  • if powerlifers squats with very good depth like you and raw (like oly lifters) , me and lot of people vote in powerlifting for olympic games. 99% of powerlifting squats s*ks. fact

  • Good squat!

  • Respect.....

  • That was an extremely honourable squat.

  • @stuqua I like your choice of words

  • His bulk helped a bit. Although Shear strength like that isnt something that is handed to you. Lots of respect for this guy

  • finally some deep squat.

  • Holy shit, look at the bounce!

  • lol he did a leg press, then a good morning

  • deep. way too deep. he could add 50 or more pounds by stopping at parallel, but whatever works.

  • @herc410 This is not parallel squats. This is ATG aka Ass to Grass, or as low as you can go.

  • @ceapy i understand that, but this is also a powerlifting meet, in which the lifter must descend until the top of the thigh at the hip is lower than the top of the knee to make it a legal squat, so he could possibly add weight by stopping higher, though it looks like he is relying on stretch reflex s it may be harder for him to stop at just below parallel.

  • One of the deepest powerlifter squats i've seen

  • Strong squat for sure but not the definition IMHO. Look at olympic lifters squatting and you can see noticeably greater depth, though we're only talking inches.

  • it has to do with knee wraps if you talk inches....

  • I wish i could do atg without falling on my ass.

  • my squatting for is exactly like this, what is a good weight for this kind of form? BTW I am 185lbs 6ft 17 yrs old and have been training for 3 1/2 months

  • depends on you dude. What is a good weight for that form? the answer to that is: -how much heavy can YOU go and keep THAT form?- that's YOUR GOOD weight with that form. And with time, it will increase when u get stronger.

  • 1.5 x your weight is very strong for atg. if you can do it for 3-5 reps that is when you reach a level of strength most people who squat parallel never achieve

  • woah nice, but honestly theres no such thing as an ATG squat, in the world of strength athletics, there are only 2 types of squats, olympic back squats (the classic lifts) and the power squat, this guy is sort of doing both, he has the bar in a low bar position on his back but goes below parallel, the ATG term is a recent term actually

  • @trance4mation

Lol Idk, I saw a lifter literally hit his ass on the floor before going up.

  • That guy is a bear. (no offence)

  • My ass is literally 1 inch from the ground when I squat

  • not everybody has the same limbs length

  • THAT WAS DEEP!

  • my homie, got that up...except for on thing dawg, 650? sorry to say, but....im still near you weighing 283lbs...lol [yeh, im in the 6 hunned's, but i ain't telling where, punk!] good lift tho. LOL

  • Comment removed

  • Damn thats it? i did 651...LOL naw, congrats on ya state champ bruh!

  • green lights all the way.. sick depth

  • ^_^

  • Was that necessary?

  • Exactly thats how low I go.
