  • What a fuckin' genius.

  • eric you and the blues truly meet on this song thanks big man

  • why is he called slowhand?

  • @andredidiergijon Cuz he used to take a long time changing strings when he snapped one while playing, so the crowd would slow hand clap.

  • is this an 8 bar blues?

  • @muzzalhay I think so... it does turns back to the start every 8 bars...

  • I live in this song now...

  • @MrSmartVision Actually, I think he said "Domo! Thank you!" Since "Domo Arigato" in Japanese means "Thank you very much." But it would befunny if he did say "No more!" :D

  • This song knows me when I'm down & out..

  • House looks just like Clapton! >.<

  • you dont have to play fast fingers in guitar playing,.because fast

fingers will take you only hours of practice,.but the feeling of

blues music will take you years and even decades to get thru

it..blues is easy to play but it is hard to feel..its not how fast your finger is,it is how you play the note..thats why eric

clapton is i think one of the best guitarist in the world.

  • @jasonteten Why copy from The Comment Eric Clapton olld Love unplugged?

  • i am 11 and i like clapton and deep purple not rap or hip hop

  • @Khedrosh You are the greatest 11 year old alive!

  • No more , thanks you! xD Epic

  • @josephkallifffraude xD Epic xD!!!!!!!!!! EPIC xD!!! xD EPIC xD EPIC xD EPIC xD

  • My dad use to sing this song to me and my sisters ever night when we were little. Its one of the best memories of my childhood.

  • very very good, eric is best singer and guitar player!!!::):):):)

  • A year or two after this election, we will all be singing this song. I used to do it way back when, in the 70s. Time to start practicing it again.

  • I needs me a fix o' Pinetop Smith. Thank you Eric.

  • Steve Gadd is using four drum sticks. Just an observation...

  • Does that man never get old?

  • @nazi8per well i hope not ^^

  • I can totally relate to this song.

  • Doesn't get any better than Clapton!

  • clapton is the best performer of all time

  • I love when clapton just chills with his acousitc.. just magic!

  • Slowhand was his nickname??? Well, that's... well chosen :)

  • I care for clpaton but i don´t like whta he does with this blues, it sounds very diffrente of a true blue. Seems is singing happy crist

    mas

  • EXCELLENT CLIP

  • is it weird that i cant stand Jimi Hendrix (i get bashed about this alot) but i rather prefer listening to Eric Clapton anytime ... i guess its just personal taste but i guess i just got to let jimi grow on to me ... wonder if anyone is like this

  • @EliotNess4rmWest Me!

I consider Jimi an absolute icon and idol, but I prefer EC as an artist.

    He's my all-time favourite.

  • @EliotNess4rmWest

The same here, 4 years ago I just couldnt see the greatness of jimi, it was just a lot of noise. But now I have all his cd's:P

  • truer words were never spoken, "nobody knows you when youre down and out" amen

  • what a fuckin ledgend!

  • Eric has to have the worlds longest piano for his concert 1:51

  • Ok, he can spit and he can slur the words - that's right, cause this man is a truly talented musician, and if someone finds it more interesting to note things like spitting, then maybe this good music is not for you.

  • he spits at 1:05...can't help noticing

  • @leoking57

    Cuuuute ^^

    very careful watched... ;)

well, he could spit at me any time xD

  • @harrisonclapton thats just nasty man

  • @harrisonclapton Just wanted to let you know it's "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out". Picky, I know, but I couldn't help myself.

  • @leoking57 that made me smile thanks for pointing it out

  • @leoking57 I think it's more like saliva coming out from his mouth rather than spitting

  • @leoking57

    even gods spits xD

  • good spmg

  • slowhand? hes quick as fuck!

  • @Meatlooaf

slow hand blues my friend. look it up ;)

  • @harrisonclapton

not many people, but for some it might be interesting. unnecessary.

  • "Clapton is God" is an understatement.

  • @slowhand496 Truer words have never been spoken.

  • @RayManzarekGod Thank you sir.

  • @slowhand496 We are just two honest men. It was me pleasure.

  • I think it's inevitable that, given the rise in population and the nature of humans to categorize and diversify, people are going to enjoy things such as music genres that others cannot help but dislike. It's the clashing of tastes and that whole thing. But I also feel that, despite people not liking this type of music genre, you should be able to take in the sheer consonance of this song. It sounds happy.

Besides that, the lyrics are well-placed and the players are exceptionally competent.

    Yum!

  • the guy plays a good guitar.....

    and he's British

    :)

  • thumbs up if nobody knows you when your down and out... ever been there?

  • I like the intro

  • great cover of this classic, from a great blues guitarist

  • you've got a friend in me lol

  • he sings quite differently in this video than on the unplugged album. With different lyrics at times, but i dont mind. Still my favourite blues song. This is also a incredible version.

  • que maestro por favor

  • Totalmente de acuerdo con tu comentario clausolo, un Maestro Clapton..

  • @nsanchezj gracias nsanchezj, somehow we always agree

  • @CLAUSOLO yo creo que es porque tienes buen gusto clausolo..

  • probably one of the best songs ever, imo

  • great song

  • Too True Mr Clapton....

  • i love it

  • i'm learning this

  • its not too hard

    C,E7,A7,Dm7,A7,Dm7

    ,F,Eb dim, C, A7, D7,G7

  • amazing

  • Sounds perfect!

  • i didnt say it wasnt enjoyable,

  • music requires talent.....rap does not, anyone can sit down with a thesaurus and find words that rhyme

  • there are rappers with talent some can actually put a message behind the words

  • @smellycow6 gtfo with rap.

  • @MrHardcoreDubstep I take it you like dubstep :)

  • @ recordplayer13 BOOM!

  • i love this song alot.. it made by jimi cox, sing by joplin, and all the great people i can find.

but clapton unppluged is the best version , i think.

  • Now I'm learning this song is beautiful and the guitar is amazing! thnks!

  • fantastic thanx for posting

  • Anyone else thinks this sounds like something off of toy story?

  • it sounds like it. but i like it

  • @Kurtck95 exaaaaactly!

  • this song is a helluva lot older than toy story..so i think it might be the other way `round.

  • @Kurtck95 Sure !!! it's Randy Newman style !! Ain't it great? Its like a fair tune !!! Love it !

  • @Kurtck95 lool

  • @Kurtck95 yes, exactly what i was thinkin when i learnt to play it ("hmmm... didnt i hear this on toy story?")

  • @Kurtck95 That's exactly what I thought when I first heard this :P

  • @Kurtck95

Holy crap, that's exactly what I was thinking. I think that the two songs are in the same key, and haave a similar chord progression as well.

  • @Kurtck95 It's too bad it isn't, the song you're thinking of is 'Youve got a friend in me' by randy newman. they do sound very similar though.

  • no. just you.

  • @Kurtck95 Ha, yeah like a Woody song :)

  • @Kurtck95 they should use this in toy story

  • @naowx09 I thought the same thing

  • @Kurtck95 Eric Clapton and Randy Newman may know of each other, and they may be friends, but do you get how wonderful WE get talented people to make 4 notes sound like everything????Dance when no ones' looking, and you will for sure not have a PHD in anything but happy!!!!

  • its a shame kids in this age turn to rap and R&B etc. im 18 and i like hendrix, clapton and stevie ray vaughan and im PROUD :)

  • @Arcadiah same here dude... I'm 16 and been to see Clapton twice. Just saw him at MSG and he played this song at the beginning at his acoustic and it was a real treat. His singing was phenomenal on that song.. better than this performance imho.

  • i hear ya. are you from arcadia, ca?

  • No I am from Gillingham in England (: its a long version of a nickname

  • @Arcadiah R&B was a great influence on Clapton too ;]

  • @Arcadiah im 14 and play the blues, i hate rap, new rock it aint got no soul

  • @Arcadiah clapton is god i agree. but dont forget that their is a lot of great things in rap. Im not talking of all the commercial bullshit. In fact theirs a lot of great thing in a lot of different music styles. take the wu tang clan or tupac for exemple. I think its important to be open minded in life.

  • what if they want to hear rap or R&b, and blues or rock isnt there kind of music.

  • @Arcadiah Ur so right man. but ur aint lonely in that, like most of my friends are for Rap and don't even know fellas like Santana, Eric, B.B, not to say anything bout Deep Purple led zep Van halen. It proofs Morrisons words that ROCK (good music) IS Dead.

  • @Arcadiah funk yeah bro

    don't forget cuck berry

  • @Arcadiah all very well, except.....Can you tell me what r&b stands for?

  • @Arcadiah Hehe, I'm 20, and i think you forget Gallagher, Allman, May and Page :D

  • @Arcadiah Im 18, and my most favourite musician is Jimi hendrix, forever Jimi!

  • @Arcadiah a true music lover likes it all... i get down on r&b , hip hop, metal, classic rock, classical, jazz, fusion, progressive metal, neo classical... they all have something to offer really... except for country... country is for white trash...

  • @crankycactus Tell that to Keith Richards who learned the open G from The Everly Brothers...who were Country as well as Rock & Roll.

  • Amen!!!! "Friends" (HAHAHA) milked off me for years...got down....didn't have shit to do with me!!! Back now and well....'BITE ME"

  • this song is sooooooooooooooo true!

    eric is great

  • Now that's what I call music

  • If i ever feel down and out, Eric's music will get me feeling better in no time!!!

  • wow Claps voice sounds bloody great here.

  • great song and great version.

  • Nothing makes me want to play guitar more than Clapton. People should read his autobiography, very good read

  • He's exactly what made me start playing

  • Mae West said, "I've been rich and I've been poor. Believe me, rich is better"

  • Everyone should check out Otis Redding verison"Nobody know you"

  • Clapton keeps gettin better and better by the years. You can hear the improvement in his voice in comparison with old recordings.... also his improvistaions are improving....

  • I see that too and it's very interesting if you consider that he smokes a lot

    ;-)

  • yessir, a Clapton fan since the 60s. When he did the Unplugged concert in the early 90s he opened up another new door for himself. He always keeps it interesting

  • This song speaks to me because it echoes my experience. You quickly learn who your real friends are and who treats you like a fucking bum when you're hurting financially. Money may not buy happiness but it sure as hell beats being broke.

  • these days I prefer Erics' acoustic playing to his electric....either way, he continues to reinvent himself and keep the audience interested

  • Words of Wisdom...completely true..Nobody knows you when you're down & out....Thanks Eric.....you're the best..........

  • CLAPTON is god ; )

  • one of the best ever

    respect

he is a real rock star

  • Well I'm just saying i have never heard him do that

  • 1:13 it sounds like he says notices you instead of knows you

  • Beautiful song, good performance. But Popa Chubby's version is much, much better. Bring on the ignorant, Claptophile hate mail, or go listen to it and judge for yourself. I'm not slating Clapton, but when it comes to this track, Chubby blows him out the water.

  • As always, everyone is entitled to their retarded opinions.

  • sorry mate, I watched popa's version. he's good but not in a way in Clapton's league. not his guitar playing or even controlling the voice... he seems like sometimes he hasen't thought it through... please watch that again and tell me h sang more than 40% of the song....

    no offense wt so ever'

    truely,

    Kamil

  • Hehe, I understand why you prefer his version. I think he really messed it up with that strumming. I really removes the funky punch you get from picking and slapping the strings, like he did on the album-version.

  • That's true, man. The Poppa Chubby version was on his 'One Night in NY City' album though, I didn't expect to find it on Youtube. You should seek that out though, it rules! If you give me your email address, i'll email you it.

  • Claptophile? Hahaha! I like it.

  • popa is very cool, but please...you can't compare him (or anyone else) to clapton. don't forget: clapton is god!

  • does anyone else think he voiced the toy-story soundtrack? lol, it really sounds like he did.

    AMZING musician

  • Where was this concert?

  • HE'S AMAZING!

  • Did he say domo, thank you at the end?

  • been a fan for many years an amazinly he just keeps gettin better, many thanks for this posting.

  • what kind of shirt is that?

  • the only thing that u've noticed is the shirt ? It's impressive ! You attempt to a wonderful performance of this beautifull song (from Bessie Smiths right ?)and you post a comment on the shirt ?

  • yeah i post a comment on the shirt because i do not feel this version is beautiful compared to the one on the unplugged album. plus, i really dig that shirt

  • great song

  • bravo!

  • Once again, Clapton's perfect

  • this song is amazing but, is this the acoustic version? because ive heard an electric guitar solo version and im looking for that, dont you know where can i find it?

  • wonderful video. people always appreciate clapton's guitar work, but not many people realize how great his voice is, too.

  • Yep! I do though!

  • ty so much, this is the only descent footage of this song =]

  • pretty crisp acoustics

  • Nobody loves you when you're down and out!

    IT'S TRUE!

  • wrong song

  • Man he makes it look easy!!

  • put old love and going down slow please please

  • great clapton it's the god of guitar to me

  • Awesome...do u have more from this concert? Especially Tears in Heaven and Old Love
