  • Great video. Your the only video I can find who has additional drains tied into the main drain which is what I have been looking to do.

    2 questions:

    1. Did you put down gravel before laying down the landscape fabric?

    2. From the tied in lines, approximately how many feet on each side of them will moisture be drawn to them?

    Thanks

  • It is best to use solid 4" perforated PVC pipe instead of the black perforated flexible pipe shown. PVC is more expensive and time consuming but it does a better job and is less prone to clogging. Lay landscape fabric in the trench, then add at least 2 inches of 3/4" gravel, then lay the perf. PVC pipe making sure the holes in the pipe are at the bottom. Glue the pipes and fittings together with PVC cement, top with at least 2" of gravel, cover with fabric to keep dirt out, top with sod.

  • What do you do about water coming in the basement between the wall and the floor?...I mean a stream of clear water, not septic tank water. Seems like the surface drain you are showing isn't going to do much for my problem.

  • @dwetick You are correct. You will need a drain tile installed at the footing either inside or out.

Make sure the exterior of the property is not overlooked including grading downspouts and etc.

  • I have a question for you..... I'm told that over time the gravel clogs with silt or mud making the water harder to travel to the pipe; and that a fabric is used before the gravel. Wouldnt the fabric clog much faster than the gravel would??

  • What fabric is that?

  • Nice capture and I now have a better understanding of how everything ties in together.

  • The last min or so reminds me of a horror film

  • i want your dirt.... i dont see a single ROCK.... i hate living in the rokies hahah

  • One more question:

@ 2:56 is that where the water will ultimately go?

YOu said he's drilling into the sewer. So all of the water will follow that path and go into a sewer?

What if you don't have a sewer to tap into?

    Thanks.

  • Do you need to worry about the frozen line?

Thanks for putting up the video!!

  • Your video really helped me a great deal. However, I used a 4 inch drainage pipe with a sock already on it.

  • @ratliff2006 I'm glad it helped and as long as its pitched and plenty of gravel i'm sure it will do just fine!!! It would be wonderful if you could write a review on google for us Aquaproof Inc...How long you had it in and has it been tested yet?And if so could you share your experience?

  • How much did it cost or are you afraid to say?

  • This is great. Thanks for posting it. I am putting in a French drain for my saturated backyard too. So you can put dirt and sod or seed over the rock or should I just keep rock visual at yard level? Thanks!

  • @stlouispictures

Use real nice topsoil about an inch and a half or you can leave gravel.

    Glad it helped you out

  • i gotta do a smaller version of this for my yard.. tnx for the video upload, it helped me better visualize what I need to do!
