  • i have such admiration for people like you, well done and good luck with your adventures. thank you for sharing this clip, fantastic.

  • okay mate, i'm very much interested in buying your bike with all the modifications as i have also had an accident on a motorcycle a little over a year ago. Im T-8 complete and if you still have the bike and want to sell it, notify me and we can make arrangements

  • what is that things on the side of the bike?can someone explain to me?and if u are new why you need thatthing like extra wheels by a children bicycle???

  • @FRANC1300 Read the title dumbass. He's paralised from the waist down. Those are stabalizers that are used in place of his legs.

  • What if you need to wheel the bike backwards?

  • Did well with the protection of a jacket and pants. I guess you don't have to protect your head

  • No helmet

  • great that u got back to biking.. but after 13 years its not a good idea to go for a R1, unless ur really good biker, it will get u chrashed/killed sooner or later

like give a little to much power in a corner and ur on ur back wheel, something u dont want in a corner

go for a 600 or something

  • didn't know such a mod was even possible!

  • wow after those injuries its great to see you back on a bike. thats true love for the ride!

  • Real inpsirational man. Here's a lil tip. Wear a helmet :P

  • Never give up. And no one can tell you, that you can't. Thanks man

  • Never give up. And no one can tell you, that you can't. Thanks man

  • You still need the clutch for stopping completely and pulling away, but no at all for gear changes.

  • hi great clip. looks like your from the uk. me too(london) i am a paraplegic looking to get back on my bike. where can i get a conversion or parts?

    thanka mate kevin

  • so does the quick shifter help if u cant squeez n the clutch all the way?

  • unseen but MOST SUPPORTIVE WIFE EVER!!!!

  • very cool!

  • Eu Hermes Oliveira Brasil.

    Piloto Parakart

  • Really cool; pretty badass that you still ride after an accident like that. Nice lookin' bike too.

  • okay, so u came of a bike a few years ago, broke a few things, and u go on the bike like a bitch, with no helmet, FAIR PLAY u tart

  • that gay ..........Once you mentally retarded

  • that gay ..........you look like metal delayed

  • its nice to see all men rideing oh and girls to

  • omygod when i was 4 years old i needed those stabilisers on my bicycle haha xD

  • you should get a hellmont to but i think that thing is a waste of money just find i bike that fits you and you will have a more enjoyable ride

  • what is the point of those? save you from a deadly 5 kph fallover? i dont get it

  • @danthemanzizzle Hes Paraplegic!!!

  • Wicked well done mate!! All these loud mouth idiots who if they ever had to deal with a disability would buckle so No one can comment unless you have a disability, it can be scary and to get on an r1 is scary enough without a disability, give this man a medal!!! (p.s I also am disabled). How do I contact you as I would love this bike?

  • get that knee down

  • thats awesome man really awesome

  • lol what a pussy

  • @CropDuster33 Your a fucking cock! Bikes for life

  • @CropDuster33 you dumb ass piece of shit! hes Paraplegic!!! fag!!!

  • Where is the bike located? I am also a para that would love to ride again but I'm in the States it would probably cost too much for me to have it shipped.

  • @cregmonroe you can buy the kits out of airizona

  • How much for the bike?

  • @cregmonroe I can selll the bike without the mods for around £2999, but I would rather sell it with all the mods (except the quickshifter) to another para who wants to get back to riding, so I will take offers in the region of £3300. It comes with paddock stands, standard and loud can, hugger, trickle charger and other bits and bobs as well. There is alo bags of history that comes with the bike.

  • How much did it cost you to get stabilizer wheels if you don't mind my asking? Thanks!

  • @Nutmeg83able I did the conversion myself, the parts cost around £1000. the bike with its conversions is now for sale....... contact me if you are interested. I am in the West Midlands.

  • really inspirational. you are a tough man to be able to get back on a bike after such a horrible ordeal.

    do you still ride?

  • @cardboardreindeer Done a bit at the track, but have been too busy with other projects to get the use out of the R1 the bike is now for sale do to lack of time. And I could do with the money for a new speedboat engine ;-)

  • good on you mate. Does look a little strange though. Main thing is you are riding.

  • Blokes, I had my get-off 7 years ago (para T5 complete), 996 is still in my living room. Where do i start? I suffer from seemingly bad spastic in the legs and stomach, but with enough spasmex, baclofen et al I could get the old body to work again (1963).

Would apprieciate all thoughts on how I can get this working again.

    Many thanks,

    JS

  • @jetslut340 If you are serious get in touch, my R1 is for sale. If you are in the UK you are quite welcome to come and take a look at the mods if nothing else. If you really want to ride you can still do it!!

    Paul

  • I only have a question: how do you change gears on that? I have a friend that is in the same situation, so i would love to know. Thanks.

  • @alxcsb there are 2 buttons on the left handlebar, green for up and red for down, the buttons are connected to a quickshifter, thats just like a small ram that pushes and pulls the standard gearlever up and down. the bike is for sale if he is seriously interested. mail me if you would like more details....

  • @R1FREESTYLE He has the bike, we rebuilt his CBR600 F2 after the crash as a gift from us, but he obviously can't ride it. I was thinking that the standers can be homemade, but the shifter seems to need some careful thinking. I am assuming that the clutch is still the same as normal bikes. How much does one full system cost?

  • @alxcsb - I made mine, its all fairly basic stuff, the cost of fitting the bike out with the stabilisers, fitting a thumb brake and the quick shifter was just over a grand by the time I had finished, but you dont count your own time of course...

  • @R1FREESTYLE I was thinking that we can use a larger servo motor from those RC cars. If we use a longer lever it has enough power to shift through the gears and it is easier to program. Also very cheap, around 100 dollars.

  • TO ALL RETARDS:

He is NOT using stabilisers because he cant ride, he is using them because HE IS FUCKING DISABLED!!!, USE YOUR BRAIN BEFORE TYPING!!!!

  • @wolfyys I think that just about covers it! :-)

  • good for you bro thats a fucking cool idea, i never thought there was actually something like that.

  • Thats great buddy, Congrats,

  • where are you gloves helmet

  • dude.. that is pathetic.. my 14 yr old girl can out ride you

  • Fossilman, you are right, she could out ride me these days, she could also out walk me and move/feel a lot more below chest level than I can. Pretty girl, I would suggest that she wore more on her arms when riding at least, I was wearing all the gear amd still manged to break my neck, back, collar bone, cheek, nose and jaw. By her a jacket and keep her well....

  • @R1FREESTYLE Dude!!! I feel like such an idiot!!!! I had no idea you were handicap, I thought this was some hair brained idea to learn how to ride....... My Apologies sir!!!

  • No worries your not the first, keep it on the black stuff!

  • I wouldn't worry about what they're saying, they probably don't realize your legs don't work...and if they do, they're not worth your time.

  • omg...what a amatour buy a scooter no big bike......what a shame

  • @mekless, first learn how to spell AMATEUR. Second, he's a T5 para, riding again. I'm a T4 para and I don't think I have the balls to ride again yet. More power to ya R1FREESTYLE

  • i can tell emotionally the man feels afraid to hit the gas.. but thats a good thing... at first its hard to want to let go of the clutch... but he knows just right where it is... good luck man, keep up the ryding and be safe

not many people get a second chance like this

    5 stars

  • what is Fuck's deat!;D

  • If your a true rider I guess you will do what ever it take to ride and keep riding. Peace

  • My hat is of to you sir !! Awsome

  • hey not bashing on you cuzz this is epic. but were is yo brain bucket? anyway nice bike and happy riding

  • that is so cool! a bike with crutches... it retract when you speed up then it goes down when the bike is standing steel.

  • Hey Paul,Awesome stuff mate, nothing better than that feeling again,Congrats Pal

  • Well done.....you should be proud !!!!

  • this is the coolest adapted bike i have seen so far, happy riding mate

  • good on ya m8

  • wow big ups to you man, youve got some serious spirit, a lot of people wont even get near a bike after their first crash. Keep riding! be safe and wear a helmet

  • top bloke, its allways in the back of my mind when i ride, but you never think it will happen to you, its allways someone else. Your will to ride should serve as an insapartion to others in the the same boat, i have seen before someone with an r1 trike and he has his wheel chair on the back.

  • thats so rad dude. who really cares what any of these shitheads say, do what makes you happy.

  • I want to express our congratulations to you for your willingness to have to ride a bike again!

  • Comment removed

  • Cool setup, looks effective.

Have you seen the Piaggio MP3 scooter? Its a leaning inverted trike scooter, that has the feel of a regular scooter/small bike, but is inherently more stable and has a locking mechanism for staying upright at a stop.

Theres also non-leaning inverted trikes like the Spyder which don't need a foot down, although it does give off more of a sense of a street-riding snow mobile than a motorcycle, heh.

  • right on brother, but still no helmet! LOL!

  • Even after all that you've been through, that won't even keep you away from a NICE BIKE! Great spirit - Take care!

  • Garry,

Thanks for the nice comment and the common sense! Happy biking mate!!

  • R1FREESTYLE, you are a legend! Fair play to ya man, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't ride, just doesn't bear thinking about it, but that is sweet, pure perserverance and strength of mind. As for not wearing a helmet? Jeez, lads, give it a rest! I think he knows what could happen if he came off a bike - uh, he's in a wheelchair!! We've all done it, and still do, testing a bike or mod, your driving around at 5mph round the estate, rightly or wrongly - we'll risk leaving the lid off! :0)

  • R1FREESTYLE - Hat of to you mate, that is fantastic, and makes me happy seeing someone doing what they love. have fun!!!

  • ohytd, you're pathetic. You even know what T5 means? Fair ball to the OP, don't think i'd want to get back on after a major spill leaving me in a wheelchair

  • nice.....thanks....you have good day too :-)

  • i beat he rode better than you when he was able to if you even ride motherfucker!

  • i cant drive im under 17 and why the fuck reply to my comment was i talking to YOU? NO! KEEP OUT OF STUFF THAT HAS FUCK ALL TO DO WITH YOU BASTARD

  • wow im only seventeen which i can only shit talk on youtube where i won't get my ass beat for doing so.....= / i know a guy that rides an R6 and he is only 15! stick to recording your boring ass video games..... shit talker!

  • pussy you only talk shit on youtube so u wont get your ass kicked lol pussy

  • kids.........

  • @ohytd, I know you posted this 7 months ago, but I guarantee my paralyzed ass could whomp the shit out of you face.

  • @ohytd, LOL he was already smashed up and his bike was smashed up a long time ago apparently. Lets see your dick face survive a nasty wreck and see if you have the balls to get on a bike again when you can't move or feel anything from basically your nipples down.....what a dick head...

  • jebo mater jel ovaj toliko retardiran...

  • Dude after that going on an R1 Takes BALLS even with stabilisers. My advice like egkg75 get a good ATV and u will get the same rush like a R1 when going from 0-60. With out the probs of stabilicers or balacing probs.

Even though MASSIVE PROPS to U DUDE. The Blood crawls where it cant go.

    Keep On Riding Dude.

    Viper

  • Cool, be careful though, you don't want to loose what you have. I ride an atv and love it, I'm T1

  • dont you ever stop riding keep the feeling and never get down !!!!!

  • I WANT A R1!!

  • thats fucken insane man he got balls for getten back on the horse

  • Well done mate, seriously nice going. Hope you're back up and running properly soon :) Keep at it, bikings for life not just for christmas lol :)

  • Top Man!!

Your a credit to human Perseverance :)

Glad to see your on 2 wheels again it takes a lot of bottle to get on a bike after a serious crash.

Thanks for posting the video :)

  • hello my name is fernando, I'm apacionado for chili and I had 2 bikes and motorcycles veocidad much enjoyment and I am 9 years ago paraplegic product of an accident. really good that I dream of a return to speed up and walked in just four wheels and me to get noticed you have to adapt I would love to know if there can I adapt a nanny in the Palm Springs bike here as I could help. ojala me thank you reply.

  • congrats on your return to motorcycling, however after such a serious accident i would have thought youd appreciate the need for a helmet.

    sam.

  • I couldn't agree more!!!! Hats off for continuing to ride. I too am blown away that this gentlemen is without helmet! If you fall over at a stand still even, there is a GREAT chance you'll be hitting the old head.

  • I have a similar setup on my GSX-R 1000 K6, except I use a Pingel shifter instead of the kliktronic. The funny thing is that I also broke my back at T4/5 and I was also riding an FZR600! One thing I have to say though, you really should be setting an example for the kids by wearing a helmet. You can see my bike in my video section.

  • beat the fucking kids..!

    they fingered your bike..

  • Hi mate.

    Thanks for visiting my page.

In answer to your question do a web search on kliktronic (UK based). Also I recomend having a look for the N.A.B.D.

I was Rep with them for 5 years so if I can help get in touch.

I've no left leg so use my right to hold the bike when I stop but I'm thinking of something similar for the left side my FJ12. Truouble is I couldn't use your set up and the side cases.

I'd like to make the s/stand come down for parking and very slow left manuvers, any ideas?

  • helmet!!!

  • glad to see u riding again ;)

  • Fair play mate!! Was really nice watching that video! You are a true biker! 10/10!

  • Fair play to you mate. Best of luck!

  • Hey, how much is a kit for my 05 r1? I am a t12 from the united states and I really need a kit asap.

  • Geat job mate but dont you think you shall use about 10cm diameter wheels at the bottom of the stabilisers ? i think it would be much more stable and gentle when rolling on them, great job anyways keep on biking dude!

  • FANTASTIC STUFF PAL!!!!

  • does the stabiliser raise and lower on it's own? my brother-in-law is a t7 para.. if he gets word of this we'll all be in trouble. :)

  • The stabilisers are operated via a 2 way switch on the right clip on. It's a case of being organised when you approach a junction. I have seen a mod where the guy have them speed contolled, but if you were trickling along they would be up and down all the time.

  • There's no reason why it shouldnt be possible to do the same conversion to the SV. It would just need a different method of mounting the stabilisers to the rear subframe.

  • Hi. at this moment i do not have a bike, but i whant to buy a suzuki sv 650 s. first i have to know if is possible to modify thi bike( suzuki sv 650 s ).

  • I havent woked out a price for the system as the one on my R1 is a bespoke set up that I made myself. Let me know what bike you have (or have in mind) and I can try and work out the cost for a similar conversion.

  • hi. first i have to tell you..............oauuuuuuuuuuuu. what is the cost of the sistem? i whant to bay one. i am from romania and i am paraplegic t7-t8.

  • hi. first i have to tell you.....oauuuuuuuuuuu. what is the cost of the sistem? i whant to bay one. i am from romania and i am paraplegic t7-t8.

  • hehehe, thats crazy

  • Sorry forgot to mention that I cant walk. Added that to the notes.....
