It's Dutch. This is a docu from 'Canvas', a national Belgian television channel, so it's Flemish Dutch. =)
Further more... Belgian people know French, what is a Roman language, so... Belgian can pronounce Michelangelo better than English can anyway (xD)

I always thought and have heard others say the i in Michelangelo as eye or My-chel-angelo, not Mik as in sick for Mickelangelo.

I'm pretty sure "Mik"is correct.

he was Italian. They don't ronounce their "i" as the English-speaking world does. It's Mick

i'm an artist as well...please continue, it is wonderfull to know about other peoples life and work of art, as well their spiritual way of being in this world who they were,in this case...michaelangelo an angel master of art and life it self
