These were the sort of guys you saw in UFC title fights at the time. Wanderlei fought a lot of bums but he also fought Arona, Rampage, Henderson, Sakuraba, Cro Cop, Hunt, Mezger, Yoshida...all in their prime, all top 10 fighters at the time. He went to UFC in his mid-30's after being KO'd twice consecutively in PRIDE.

And how about the street fighter Mir and pro wrestler Lesnar, this two ``great champions``, that was murdered by boxer and thai-boxer? How about grandpa Couture? @elecr0 its about blood, the japanese promotions are much more strict about the appearance of blood and quite often stop a fight if someone has a bad cut. (they're more quick to stop it than American promotions). The quickest way to get these nasty cuts are elbows and thats why they dont show up in pride
