  • If you like this, check out my vid of a 2011 ! Sounds a lil different

  • Awesome channel

  • Sounds realy good but you get on trouble with the police like I did

  • hmmm i think im doin this lol

  • @Marshmallowrex why do you say that, im jw, im looking for good exhaust to put on my car.

  • Is it true straight piped, you mean no mufflers? and if so did you install a cross-over(equalizer) pipe?

  • gig em!

  • They should come with pipes who wants a quiet muscle car??

  • @cjkoolis1911 the EPA

  • At least you got the manual it's the only way a sports car is supposed to be.

  • LSU

  • It has rasp and it almost sounds like a truck. You can't make a muscle car sound any different from the rest. Thy all got that truck sound. A g35 screams with no rasp and is a v6..its nearly louder then this. A true v8 is a maserati. Screw american. Japanese screams and so does italian and german. This is pretty quite for v8.

  • a g35 sounds better then then this

  • @addison567 haha WHAT!? i have a g35 and no, it most certainly does not sound better than this.

  • What do you do when you have to get that car smoged?

  • nasty

  • I have the ss with manual 6 speed....with just muffler delete, sounds badass!!! screw these assholes who don't think it sounds great!!

  • Comment removed

  • V8 or V6??

  • @Bushmanmarshall26 V8. All the SS models are V8's. Not only that, but if it sounds beastly like this, it's definitely a V8.

  • The before sounds lot sweeter

  • Sounds great!

  • shit i fucking love it! nice n cheap at that. did you do it yourself? if so, where exactly did you install the srt8 pipes? this would be insane with some JBA Midpipes but would they void your warrenty?

  • idling sounds just like my boat out of water haha

  • you get caught yet? :)

  • that straight pipe sound puts the biggest smile on my face....

  • mufflers and cats are required federally if i remember correctly. that means that there required in every state.

  • @brendanryan0510 you know i always hear people talk about that.. but in my state i have never heard of people getting inspections.. so yes its required to have muffler and cats.. but in some states it will be easier to get away with it ... CA has it the worst btw

  • @360mmspider yeah, some states that dont do emmissions dont check for converters or any of that. a lot of times, shops will just overlook some stuff for a small fee around here. cali is a bitch because they want to keep everything eco-friendly. im just happy i dont live there.

  • you just answered all of my questions! i cant wait to do it to my camaro! it sounds like a beast! awesome video man!

  • is straight pipe like xpipe?????

  • @runescapeHolySheet

No an X pipe and H pipes are midpipes.

  • Love the "Like a boss?" part.

    Sounds sick dude.

  • Dude i love that car so much but it sounds like a devil outta hell. love Inside the Fire too :P

  • i bet it sounds alot better in person..

  • Nice alright thanks.

  • Awesome car, sounds amazing. Have you noticed any loss in low end torque or is there really no difference?

  • @HxCGuitars I can't honestly say I've noticed anything. I dropped the mufflers out before it was broken in, and I hadn't ever really gotten on it. I haven't heard of anyone complaining about it though

  • @mikebing003 Now thats how you do it. Take the mufflers off as soon as possible. Good Work!

  • @HxCGuitars if there is a loss in low end torque, its going to be so small it wont be noticible.

  • nice

  • like a boss. FTW

  • Im looking for this exhaust, where did you find it?

Is there a website i can go to, too check this out?

  • @runescapeHolySheet this isn't any type of exhaust. The mufflers were cut out, and piping was welded in in place of the mufflers. That's all that was done. Your local muffler shop should be able to do it no problem.

  • Thanks, Your video helped make up my mind for my 2010 SS RS. WOW ! What a difference, Cost : $100. Could not be more satisfied with the sound > Awesome. Thanks again, Dennisokie

  • That sound... MUSIC, PURE MUSIC!! 00:49 :O~

  • Badass video!! I love when you let off of it after the take off.

  • you should put the ground effects kit on it, then it really would be a boss! nice Camaro!

  • warranty?

  • only the muffler warranty was effected, which is fine since I no longer have mufflers.

  • do you still have the stock Hpipe? or an x now?

  • stock everything, the mufflers were just dropped out

  • that sounds fantastic! This sounds way better than a lot of expensive aftermarket exhausts!

  • How loud is it inside the car with this?

  • Check out my other video, it was made to answer this question

  • wow that sounds waaaaay better now I wanna take off the muffler on my 94 Z24 haha.

  • I done the same thing to mine 3 days after I bought it. No regrets!

  • nice improvement

  • does it still have the catalytic converters intact? if so it sounds really good to have cats. best new SS i've heard on here so far.

  • yes, the cats are still in. All I did was take the mufflers out.

  • is it true duals?

  • yes indeed

  • Is this legal? if so .. tell me why ; and if not .. tell me why? :]

  • @sniperlobbypro no its not legal, but who cares it sounds amazing :P

  • @bgcobaltss depends what state you live in CA you need a muffler and cat in TX you dont need anything

  • @1skateblue just for clarification, that isn't true. I'm having trouble posting a link for this, but all you have to do to check is google "muffler texas law" and you'll get your answer. Mufflers and cats are legally required.

  • @mikebing003 really cause i know people that dont have it and no one has told them anything?

  • @1skateblue yeah man, check out the law. Just google it, for real. Just because those people (myself included) get away with it doesn't mean it's legal. If we get caught, we are required to put the mufflers back on and take it to a judge to prove it

  • @1skateblue

where the hell did you hear that? might want to brush up on your laws...

  • @zdw0986 if you would of seen the other comments you would of known i was already informed retard

  • @1skateblue ugh. personal insults on a youtube video, who would have guessed. since you opened up that door, i hope your mom gets raped by 15 black guys and decapitated by a jew, faggot.

  • @zdw0986 it wasnt open any more after i agreed with mikebing003 so maybe you should of not said anything

  • no, u have to have a muffler to quiet it down even though u can have a good muffler and have it rumble!!!

  • Nice Sound, I think i'm going to be doing the same thing, did you re-use the stock tips again?

What size are the stock tips anyway?

  • Thanks, and I just reused the stock tips. I believe the stock tips are 3"

  • @mikebing003 My tips were just under 4" . My muffler man straight pipes camaros for the local Chevy dealer, He had done a V-6 earlyer the day that I had my RS/SS done He said the V-6 sounded like crap with straight pipes. I`m glad I have the V-8 it is Awesome. You can re-use the tips or Opt for 5" tips if you can find them.

  • sounds really nice!

  • Would be able to describe the process you go through to "straight" pipe it? I am good with a wrench and used to mechanic in the Marines so if its not too hard I'm sure I could do it with proper instructions. Does it void the warranty?

  • It isn't fully a straight pipe. The mufflers were cut out, the tips were cut off the mufflers, and piping (aluminum or stainless steel) was welded to the stock tips, then to the pipes where the mufflers once were. It will void the warranty on the mufflers (obviously), but won't affect anything else.

  • Good vid editing great sound "like a boss? No doubt" great quote 11/10

  • Like a boss? No doubt. LOL!

  • can i lose power from a muffler delete, or is it impossible because its just the muffler ????

  • you definitely shouldn't lose power. I guy on the forum I'm on did this and took his car to a dyno, and it showed he gained hp

  • i know you gain power at ike 4000 rpm-6100prm, but i heard you lose a little low end TQ

  • this is correct. the mufflers create backpressure which helps out on the low end, but removing them increases flow so you get gains on top end. i would check out the one on here with the slp longtubes and loudmouth exhaust. it sounds basically the same.

  • @360mmspider

Actually, you gain power from straight pipes, although you lose some emissions kudos with CAFE and the cops. Otherwise, it's awesome.

  • sounds sooooo awsome!!

  • get out in the country with no smog and go true straight just to see how she sounds

ik that taking the cat out made a bigger differance in volume then the muff in my truck

  • sweet vid man. very simple but awesome. sounds amazing staight piped!!

  • DAMN!

  • well done

  • will this have any negative effects on the car? sounds great.....

  • like a boss! im jealous

  • Great great video. Love how you did the before and after together. You really hear how different the car sounds from one to the other. My only question now is whats going to happen when u have to get it smogged.... and in Cali.....?

  • I just removed the mufflers, nothing else, so the smog test won't be a problem. I don't believe doing this in Cali would be a good idea. I hear the cops there are pretty anal about sound regulations, not to mention removing the mufflers is illegal everywhere anyway.

  • sounds phenomenal....prolly because it was edited on a Mac lol

  • haha thanks, but I didn't mess with the sound at all. I just shortened the clips and threw them together with the background music on a mac.

  • Good shit man, a cheap and easy way to make the car sound like it should!

  • does it still have the cats on or is it straight all the way through

  • it still has the cats. only the mufflers were removed.

  • Sounds like a true american Muscle car, Slam out those Tuners!!! HAHA

  • fail.

  • sounds really good man.. save your money and plz get a high performance camshaft now... post more vids once u do...

  • Nice.. sounds mean..

  • Your ears are going to bleed on a long trip. Sounds fantastic though.

  • actually (as you saw on my other video), it's extremely quiet on the highway. It's pretty incredible.

  • music to my ears dude!

  • LIKE A ßO§§

    LMAO

I like how you gave the stock exhaust a grandma takeoff, and then stabbed the gas for the straight pipes LOL

Car sounds great tho! Liked the editing, liked the tunage, great vid man!

  • well thanks. I'm sure you watched till the end of the movie and saw that the car wasn't broken in in the before shot?

  • I did. Great editing, looks/sounds good!

  • manual or automatic?

  • manual

  • sounds sick man no dought about that

  • I'm getting the LT2 (V6) model of the Camaro. You said it might not be the best idea though. Can I do this to achieve that sound or what can I do?

  • nothing can match the sound of a V8, but you'l get a nice v6 sound

  • 2LT will sound pretty decent already, the exhaust note is similar to that of the Infiniti G35 (which Even I think sounds pretty good, and I'm a muscle fanatic) If you want something more muscular, try a 40 series Flowmaster. You'll still get that G35 sound at high RPMs, but will growl like a V8 between idle and 2500 RPMs (which is where you'll be living under normal driving habits) PLUS the economy/power ratio of the LS/LT is unrivaled- 304 horses, at 29MPG and a 6speed tranny? No-brainer!

  • We tried the straight pipe on my V6... HORRID!!! Wasn't bad at startup and idle but was absolutely embarrassing once you got on the gas! I highly recommend you don't do a straight pipe!

  • Did you manage to get a video of it that you can send me? LOL.

  • No, we didn't get a video of it... it was ok at start up and idle it was ok... BUT when we REALLY got on the gas to get on the highway... OMG! It sounded so bad we couldn't stop laughing! It was embarrassing... LOL

  • Damn it! I can't afford the V8 and I don't like the sound of the V6 with any of the exhaust systems but I'm in love with the car otherwise. Basically, I want a V6 that sounds as close to the V8 as possible. LOL! Is it possible?

  • All you did was remove mufflers? I hated how the new Camaro sounded, now i know why. Yours sounds great tho.

  • "Like a boss?"

    Nooo doubt....lol

  • now just throw some headers on there and its gonna be a Frankenstein on wheels lol

  • Sounds great, and the editing looks good! Mac you say?

  • yep, I just used iMovie. It's real quick and easy once you get the hang of it.

  • so bad ass strait piped! 5*!

  • im surprised WMG hasnt removed your audio yet, but nice camaro

  • I did this to my '05 GTO, and loved it. Congrats!

  • Hey kudos to the video editing, and nice that sounds badass. Nice work!

  • if you didnt rev over 5k how come you hit the rev limiter with the aftermarket exhaust?

  • Well the very next sentence said: "After, the car had about 1600 miles, so I decided to let loose a bit." So, at first, the car wasn't broken in, but afterwards it was. And I didn't hit the rev limiter, but I certainly took it to the redline.

  • did you get any hp gains?

  • i haven't personally dynoed my car, but a member on a forum I'm on posted up his results and got +15 hp

  • Nice work.

The instinctive curiosity of Sherlock Holmes melded with the tinkering expertise of Thomas Alva Edison lives on.

  • Sweet. Nice exhaust. Great sound. Awesome car. Cool video. Good choice of music. My neighbor has one of these. 5 stars. This must have took a while to video. You started when it was light, and ended when it was dark!

  • Sounds awesome, I'm thinking I may change mine to that when I get it next week.

  • thiis is so outrageously amazing. Nice sound.

  • This seriously blows my mind that yall are paying 150 dollars...that is god aweful. I put straight pipes on my truck and i cut the muffler off my self its easy as shit, it doesnt rele require any automechanical knoledge all your doing is getting a saw and cutting off the muffler and i had my tips welded back up for 20 dollars....

  • the straight pipes on my goat cost me 80 installed 0__o

  • only 150$??

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!

  • what a freaking monster:D

  • hey sounds nice, i have a camaro coming in here about two weeks and im wanting to make it sound like yours. if i just take it to a local muffler shop and tell them to run straight pipes will they be able to do it? any suggestions?

  • That'll work. Just ask them to cut the mufflers out, cut the tips off the mufflers, weld the tips onto the new pipes, and weld the pipes in. Any muffler shop should be able to do it. My shop got it done in about an hour for $150. I kept the mufflers just in case I HAVE to put them on for some crazy reason, though I doubt that'll ever happen. I'm assuming you ordered the SS. If you got the LS, I wouldn't recommend it.

  • Why wouldn't it work on the LS?!? It sure needs it more than the SS.

  • Very nice sound. Sounds like a camaro should! Nice job

  • Saw this on Camaro5. Had to watch it on youtube to fav and give 5/5. Great sounding 5th gen you have there. Thumbs up all the way.

  • thanks man, I appreciate it. Good to see a fellow camaro5 member on here

  • nice sound nice car....perfect

  • sounds awesome good job!
