Just a tip for Tiffany and everyone else - pour the paint into an old coffee cup so that you can just carry it with you everywhere. It saved me so much time, especially when I was on the ladder!

THANK YOU! I am pretty much a novice when it comes to painting, and totally don't trust myself, and my husband is useless when it comes to painting. You inspired me to paint my kitchen cabinets black, and it turned out breathtaking, lol! We are having our 3rd child, and I wanted to paint the nursery, so I taped everywhere, and this morning I noticed all the tape fell off, dunno why. Now I can just go in with an angled brush and forget retaping- THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!

in italy the old color must be remove before and then you apply the new color :)

@84valentinab Oh wow! That would be a huge job! We don't usually do that if you're painting latex paint over another latex paint that's in good shape. We just use a primer first :) Or a paint with a primer made in that covers completely like the type I used.

@peppysamy1 We had just came inside :) And he's in training right now- Working on keeping him from crossing the threshold at the front door so he doesn't run into the street. So when we work with him on that, the leash helps just in case.

Oh and im guessing you dont like the dining room chairs very much since you have them in slipcovers, I think buying a beautiful upholstered chair to use as dining room chairs would make this room even greater, sorry im an int. design student and I like to ramble about things like this. I totally agree with you about painters tape! That is the crapiest stuff ever. I hate to paint but love the resutls, lol. Once I used the paint w/primer, I can never use anything else. 3/4" - 1" Rollers work better, just FYI... I used 3/4" to 1" for my bedroom, and it didn't waste as much paint, kill my arms/shoulders, and was easier to maneuver.

Is it hard to change light fixtures? I have an older home that has one of those ugly gold chandeliers from the 80's. I'd love to change it to one like your or maybe something with black, brown or wrought iron but I know nothing about electrical stuff and I'm afraid I'd shock myself. Did you guys do it or have an electrician do it? Light fixtures are pretty reasonable in price but it's the labor that costs so much to do it. Btw, love the room!!

@Sara01977 My dad is an electrician so he taught Brad exactly how to install them correctly. You definitely don't want to mess with electrical stuff if you're unsure. If the fixtures bother you, hiring an electrician would be worth it to make sure it's done correctly and that you dont get hurt

God, if you could've only made this video like about 4 days ago. I'm almost finished painting our family room. I did the blue tape around the trim and ended up removing some of the trim paint when I took it off :-(. I'm also wondering how in the world you managed to neatly paint your trim while climbing a 6ft ladder holding a camera and filming and not getting any paint anywhere. I have paint all over me even as I type this!

My Dad taught me to paint this way! Its the only way. We do two coats of the trim and two coats with the roller! The room looks great!

Cute! But when you are cutting in on the corners and ceiling... You should only do 1 wall at a time and then roll it right away. With some colors you can see where the cut in parts with a brush are. Also, instead of bringing it straight down, you should try to feather it down so there is not a definitive line ya know. Sorry my father and grandfather were professional painters ;) you did good though! Good painters never use tape ;p
