Google Unitarian Universalist and visit the first site listed. Born out of the Christian tradition, UUs emphasis personal freedom of belief. The Unitarian half of our heritage believed in the oneness of god, rather than the "threeness" of the trinity. Our Universalist half refused to accept that humans were born into sin and needed salvation from suffering.

I just want to clairfy I'm not trying to advocate for anarchy here. I'm just problematizing the the previous claim that one should see elected legislators as instruments of God. I believe each person, including the members of the board of supervisors, is flawed and finite and should discern the will of God for themselves rather than assume that persons in power will automatically work out a divine plan. I won't comment anymore, just wanted to clarify that.
