  • buenisima rola

    (nuno q belleza d hombre!)

  • Extreme is the best band at this concert, they fully pay respect to Queen and play their songs with passion and heart. They even didn't play any of their songs while Extreme was really at their peaks in that year.

  • Outstanding!! Much Pride from Boston.....much Pride!! AAAAAHHHH!!!!

  • Impresionante!!!

  • fuck these guys were on fire!!

  • Their harmonies are AMAZING!!! And instead of plugging their own material, they chose to do a fantastic tribute to Freddie! MASSIVE respect to Extreme who remain who of my fave bands to this day.

  • Great

  • No one can beat Freddie, but Gary does a great job here! Love his energy and his powerfull voice!

  • Nuno blows brian away XD

  • Great performance! Surely Freddie is happy with this and especially at keeping his music alive.

  • I like the part where Brian was talking... Thats about it lol. It was good... But still not Queen. Can't replace the true Champions.

  • Freddie must be proud of them !!

  • Truly i don't have any song of Extreme but i think that this band was the best on the tribute!

  • In my opinion, the band Extreme was the best performance at the Tribute to Freddie Mercury in 1992.

  • How many people after watching this video picked up their guitars?

  • Nuno's guitar tone at the start of ' I Want To Break Free' makes me want to break free !!!!

  • Grandi gli Extreme!

  • this medley kicked so much ass!

  • 6:12 mmmm great! :D

  • It's amazing that Nuno has been one of the most influential musicians of the past two decades. His ability to adapt to different styles of music, his behind-the-scenes contributions, and his musical scores have kept him relevant all these years and one of the most sought-after guitarists on the planet.

  • nuno is the best !!!!!!!!

  • I guess those three people who disliked it were either blind or deaf... Or maybe it was Lady GAGA...

  • Keep Yourself Alive is now my favourite Queen song because of this performance.

  • Thanks so much for all the info. ;) I did get a VHS copy from Tower Records

without the medley nor the two last songs! This was back in 1993. I'm still

    baffled.

But they should have an annuversary re-release or something with ALL missing

performances in it. We can have 3 DVD's. Hell, make it six if they have to. ;)

This was an amazing tribute/get together.

  • I remember being there so well, these guys really knew what it was all about. You could tell that they were fans and the crowd loved it.

  • Yes, this was one of the best performances of the Tribute. It rocked. One of the other best performances of the evening was when Cherone came back later in the evening to play with Brian May and Tony Iommi for "Hammer to Fall." Extreme understood its Queen.

  • OMG This is so goooooooooood !

  • I've never seen this before today. I've been a fan of Extreme for 11 or 12 years. This is great!

  • What a shame!!!!!! They got cut from the VHS version. Now that's a big

    WHAT THE FFFFFUUUCCCKKK?!?!?!?!?

Why??? They brought Freddie back to the people, which is the what this concert was all about!!!

Extreme was one of the most underrated bands. But if any band knows what Queen was all about, it's these guys!!! Gary, Nuno, Pat & Paul!

  • @MayaRaimondo Or they had to cut out a part of the Queen part ;) No space left on that thing.

  • @MayaRaimondo Actually, this particular medley was kept on the VHS release. The last two songs (Love of My Life and More Than Words) were dropped, as were Spinal Tap's "The Majesty of Rock", Bob Geldof's "Too Late God" and Zucchero's cover of "Las Palabras De Amor (The Words of Love)". The DVD release is SEVERELY edited - less than half the show is included.

  • and maaaan those licks on Another One Bites the Dust! Hell Nuno, geez you're too good.

  • you can see and hear the joy from the band and the crowd in this performance, it's pretty amazing.

  • Extreme schooled every one that day on how Queen stuff should sound like

  • Nuno > John Petrucci

  • ORGASM.

  • This guys are real friends

  • one question.. they came afterwards to sing "love of my life" and "more than words"?

  • @NeilCohen Yes - they played this medley, followed by Stone Cold Crazy, Radio Ga Ga, then Love of My Life and More Than Words :)

  • awesome

  • i can't stop watching this

  • wow they know their Queen! fantastic arrangement

  • Comment removed

  • Seems to be a certain amount of noise going on here :-)

  • You gotta love Nuno's outfit! Of course, the guitar riffs are great, too.

  • Dam it Nuno! Stop giving me goosebumps!

  • I'm 16, and Nuno is one of the coolest people I have ever been witness to. How can someone be so sexy, talented and downright awesome at the same time? It's a little awkward having a crush on a guy a few years younger than my parents.

  • 8:06=goosebumps!

  • Fuckin amazin performance

  • Freddie was not dead, is in the crowd!! 00:23

  • @BrianMay92 LOL - I was about 5 people to the left of this guy during the show and he was hilarious! I seem to remember at one point Roger even pointed out at him.

  • @mack89464 LOL. So wish I could go back some years. See Freddie alive would be beautiful, but seeing all those people showing their love for him is even more.

The funny guy in the crowd made my lol so badly, btw xD

  • Freddie is not died, was there!! 00:23

  • gave me goose bumps!!!

  • absolute magic

  • I wish they would do a studio version of this medley.

  • @Hammerfall794 I AGREE

  • @Hammerfall794 isn't it way better live?

  • @mufc0794

I'm saying that because this sounds so cool live and I think that it would sound just as cool done as a studio recording released on an album.

  • @Hammerfall794 by far the best performance

  • I feel so old, I've been around to see Nuno's ultra-tight jeans be popular, fall *way* out of fashion when Grunge took over both musically as well as clothing, come back full circle and then only popular for "Emo Kids" who get mocked for wearing them... ;-)

  • I remember watching this live on TV back in 92'

  • Gary cherone has the right voice for everything

  • They were the best band there. They totally smoked this Queen stuff.

  • Instead of "Paul Rodgers of Bad Company fame", we could have had "Gary Cherome of bad trousers fame". They are some shockers!

  • @RichandAbi Dont Forget Gary's bad dancing its awful and awesome at the same time...

  • what year was this???????????

  • @W444444 early 90's

  • @lifeson46 1992 ive found out. 4 years after i was born

  • @W444444 Me to:) i was born at 1996 in japan.

  • @chibalottelove26 this was made 4 years after, i was born in 1988

  • me gusta el medley de Extreme.

  • The best performance i have ever seen. EPIC !

  • ok i grew up with gary and paul & nuno is my ex..i still cant believe that all those early yrs when gary would tell us he would be famous some day..look at them .im so proud & to think they are in front of all those people having to play in tribute for a musical legend freddie is surreal...love you guys!!!!!

  • can anyone tell me the name of the first/ second song?

  • @KOBEvisceratoR in order: Mustapha(intro), Bohemian Rhapsody(last part), Keep yourself alive, I want to break free, Fat bottomed girls, Bicycle race, Another one bites the dust, We will rock you(solo)

  • kashmir!!!! ok i grew up with gary and paul & nuno is my ex..i still cant believe that all those early yrs when gary would tell us he would be famous some day..look at them .im so proud & to think they are in front of all those people having to play in tribute for a musical legend freddie is surreal...love you guys!!!!! & DID THEY ROCK OR WHAT?????????????????

  • @KOBEvisceratoR Bohemian Rhapsody.....Keep Yourself Alive

  • EPIC!!!!

  • lo mejor que hizo extreme

  • @SigandGibbs He does not sound like Freddie. Still, his voice matches better with the queen-music than the one of Paul Rodgers.

  • NUNO BETTENCOURT~!! I can meet u and die!!! U ROCK

  • does anybody know if gary was in the list?

    Queen reunion i mean :)

    Kiss from Melbourne

  • nuno=one of the best guitarists in the world in my opinion along with kirk hammet, Jimi Hendrix and of course slash.

  • @XXArmsOfNukesxX totally agree, love the guy, he's got talent!!

  • These guys owned this gig. Watched it live and remember being floored and thankful I had my VCR recording it. Nearly wore that tape out too.

  • @doelstu hi

i like metallica, anyhow i prefer extreme to cover Queen

  • good job

  • The best performance and tribute to Freddy Ever! .Gary Cherone's stage presence and charisma kicks ass! His voice quality and energy is so much like Freddy or even better. Truly one of the best vocalist of all time.

Nuno just slays on the guitar. Pat and the Paul plays with conviction. Freddy would be very happy watching this. I hope They would do this again. Extreme rules!

  • forgive me for my ignorance, but as anyone can tell me the first song is called

    this beautiful

  • @queetona3

Mustapha - From the 1978 Queen album, Jazz

  • @stonerose99

    thanks stonerose99

  • I watched this concert LIVE and can attest that Extreme STOLE the show. The same way Queen stole the Live Aid concert

  • As rock band guitarist, nuno is without equal in the modern era.

  • @Seasonseven1 Nuno's work on "Pornograffiti" and "3 Sides to Every Story" is some of the best work I've EVER had the privelege to hear. Simply BRILLIANT.

  • As rock band guitarist, nuno is without equal in the modern era.

  • AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!

  • yeah... extreme is awesome... but they dont have the prestige that they deserve

  • View my channel, dedicated to Extreme, if viewed properly it should leave you feeling awesome!! Brillianty performance but not as close as what they were and still are. Thanks.

  • why doesnt the tribute dvd have this?

  • Good choice of songs

  • Incredibly underated band - Brian May's introductory comments say it all.

  • I agree Extreme's cover of Queen songs was far better than anyone elses. I like how Gary and the band had a strong connection with the audience.

  • looked like the singer was chewing gum at 1:49 /

    8:21

  • I was there that day and this medley by Extreme is still my favourite part of the Freddie Mercury Tribute!!!

  • A FREAKIN CRYIN SHAME that this got cut from the DVD. Man they were tight that night. SMOKIN!!!

  • Freddie had the voice of a God this tribute was wonderful by far Queen is the best

  • The worst travesty ever that this was not on the DVD - was at uni and have a vivid memory of us all watching this performance and being absolutely gobsmacked. Saw Extreme supporting Bryan Adams around then and they were amazing.

  • 0:23.......upsy

    Freddie's brother

  • Nuno Bettencourt...the best guitarist, like, ever. PERIOD!

  • Brilliant tribute !! Thank U !!

  • Gary is audacious, Nuno is a fuckin' beast, Pat is just a boss hahah, and well, Paul's a good drummer I guess... hahha jk, EXTREME IS AMAZING!

  • I bet they cut this from the DVD because they realized that this proformance upstaged Queen, and thats hard for me to admit because Queen is my favorite band, Go Extreme!, Pronogaffitti, III Sides to Every Story and Waiting for the Punchline are masterpieces,I dont understand why Extreme is so underrated, nor why More Than Words is the only song that they are known for, good song but not the best off of Pornograffitti, Queen is stiff my favorite, but Extreme is dangerously close ;)

  • *still my favorite

  • Li ho conosciuti proprio vedendo questo concerto, essendo un grandissimo fan dei Queen. Un grande gruppo, purtroppo sottovalutato!

  • Really good , not bad for Extreme

  • Incredibili come sempre, senza parole come sempre.

  • One of the funniest performances I've ever seen. We dug out the Mercury tribute concert a few months ago, watched it and couldn't believe how piss funny Cherone is. Those pants, that dancing - fucking awful. What a prat.

  • @DeluxeReissue I think most people were too busy being blown away by the music to notice Cherone's pants.

  • @6151RichmondStreet

I agree. At the time it was cool. Unfortunately those pants and dance moves have not dated well.

  • Extreme rocks!!

  • Keep Yourself Alive!!!!!

  • Nuno is underrated !!!

  • carried by Nuno

  • @naesans Det er nå det du tror.

  • @naesans Nuno is brilliant but there is only one weak link in that band. And its not even that weak. But its the drummer and now he's their manager and they have a bad ass drummer. One of my all time fav bands. But I wouldn't say Nuno carried it. They're all stupid talented.

  • Wow.. I never tought Extreme were this good! This was by far the best perfomance at Freddie Mercury´s tribute concert not that George Michael shitty perfomance, oh yes! Nuno makes me proud of being portuguese XD! Man, what a guitar player!

  • AMAZING! nuno we are waiting for you here in Portugal (;

  • Amazing. What an attractive band. Their hair... oh my god. Maybe I'm just living in the wrong decade, time, era... really though, what the fuck is this bullshit?

  • Nuno in another one bites the dust... the guy is a genius

  • Great video! Wonderful! The best! The only bad thing, no freddie :-((( In the beggining Brian is just HOT... Aahhh...

  • a friend lent me this 'VHS' in about 1992, I consequently wore this part of the tape out.

  • GOLD

  • LOLz. Nuno looks like Petrucci, straight-haired version..hahaha

  • As the man Dr. Brian May said himself, "These guys are REAL friends and know better than probably anyone else on the planet what Queen and Freddie were all about"......'nuff said. Haters STFU unless Brian May says the same about your sorry asses.

  • Fantastic tribute !

  • "Another one bites the dust" , was the first 45 I ever bought. I was very young:)

  • "These Guys.. are REAL FRIENDS!" mm.. Brian must have had a good reason to introduce them like this.. for sure!

  • i'm serprized they didn't get that popular :(

  • @guitarcrazy2009 The Extreme story is not over yet...................

  • killer performance. 2 thumbs up

I have the DVD (somewhere) he he

Think this is only to be found on the VHS ...not sure

  • man, those guys were good. best Queen tribute ever! and such great hair too ;-)

  • extreme... the best!!!

  • fantastic set

  • oh...my...GOOOOOOOOD!!!!!:D

  • nuno is better than rhianna!!

  • cool

  • you done a grand job with video mate

  • no mamane

  • Great, I think, Gary Cherome would make a better queen-singer than Paul Rodgers, I just think his voice is great for Queen-Music.

Greatest cover I ever heard of Queen and much better than Queen+PR

  • @freddieurlaub They didn't want to replace Freddie with someone that sounded like him, they wanted to do something new, which is why they got a legendary blues singer. Besides, this guy is really too much. He's not an amazing singer and he's a bit too over the top.

  • What a rush! Great video!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • What is that Gary's singing at the very beginning?

  • It's the intro to the song "Mustapha" from the 'Jazz' album.

  • AKA one of the greatest Queen songs.

  • "Mustapha" first track off of Jazz,Queen album from 1978 :D

  • it's awsome how they added solos to another one bites the dust. haha

  • I can possibly see why the rest of the non-Queen stuff was cut from the DVD, but this?! This is freaking awesome! Easily the best I've heard anyone other than Queen perform these songs. Their vocal harmonies are awesome.

  • i watch this video at least once a day. GREATEST FROM THE SHOW AND THEY CUT IT FROM THE DVD!!!

  • This just proves how fucking awesome this band are. Thanks for posting this. It's a bit sad now that nuno is reduced to playing the part of a session guitarist for rhianna when you see what this band were capable of.

  • check out the official extreme website, which includes mention of nuno touring with rihanna. it doesn't say that he is leaving the band ... the implication is that it is a side project for him.

  • Yeah i know it is a side project but the point is he is too good to be playing the part of a bit part guitarist for a pop act.

  • is there a dvd with everything on it, I have a version without this, and without love of my life too :(

  • Fuckin A!

  • Fantastici...semplicemente fantastici!

  • dummer is not flashy but boy he is SOLID!!!!

band has some awesome harmonies too

  • Thank you Extreme! Very Queen fans!

  • I have had the audio version of this for a few years and downloded the concert but it was the version without this performance. Thank you for posting this, Queen is one of my favorite bands and Extreme is awesome, and another one of my favorites. This performance shows the level of respect and love the guys had for Freddie and is one of the greatest tributes ever put together, for ANY band!!

  • Fat buttom girls + bicycle was pretty impressive! that performance was awesome

  • Extreme and Led Zeppelin. Best bands ever!! PERIOD!!!!!!

  • Man, these are Memories !

  • Stole the show.
