Extreme is the best band at this concert, they fully pay respect to Queen and play their songs with passion and heart. They even didn't play any of their songs while Extreme was really at their peaks in that year.
Their harmonies are AMAZING!!! And instead of plugging their own material, they chose to do a fantastic tribute to Freddie! MASSIVE respect to Extreme who remain who of my fave bands to this day.
It's amazing that Nuno has been one of the most influential musicians of the past two decades. His ability to adapt to different styles of music, his behind-the-scenes contributions, and his musical scores have kept him relevant all these years and one of the most sought-after guitarists on the planet.
Yes, this was one of the best performances of the Tribute. It rocked. One of the other best performances of the evening was when Cherone came back later in the evening to play with Brian May and Tony Iommi for "Hammer to Fall." Extreme understood its Queen.
@MayaRaimondo Actually, this particular medley was kept on the VHS release. The last two songs (Love of My Life and More Than Words) were dropped, as were Spinal Tap's "The Majesty of Rock", Bob Geldof's "Too Late God" and Zucchero's cover of "Las Palabras De Amor (The Words of Love)". The DVD release is SEVERELY edited - less than half the show is included.
I'm 16, and Nuno is one of the coolest people I have ever been witness to. How can someone be so sexy, talented and downright awesome at the same time? It's a little awkward having a crush on a guy a few years younger than my parents.
@BrianMay92 LOL - I was about 5 people to the left of this guy during the show and he was hilarious! I seem to remember at one point Roger even pointed out at him.
@mack89464 LOL. So wish I could go back some years. See Freddie alive would be beautiful, but seeing all those people showing their love for him is even more.
The funny guy in the crowd made my lol so badly, btw xD
I feel so old, I've been around to see Nuno's ultra-tight jeans be popular, fall *way* out of fashion when Grunge took over both musically as well as clothing, come back full circle and then only popular for "Emo Kids" who get mocked for wearing them... ;-)
ok i grew up with gary and paul & nuno is my ex..i still cant believe that all those early yrs when gary would tell us he would be famous some day..look at them .im so proud & to think they are in front of all those people having to play in tribute for a musical legend freddie is surreal...love you guys!!!!!

One of the funniest performances I've ever seen. We dug out the Mercury tribute concert a few months ago, watched it and couldn't believe how piss funny Cherone is. Those pants, that dancing - fucking awful. What a prat.

baffled.
But they should have an annuversary re-release or something with ALL missing
performances in it. We can have 3 DVD's. Hell, make it six if they have to. ;)
This was an amazing tribute/get together.
