I'll be dammed, I live in Boston, Ma and I can hear your beacon very well. I even recorded it with the record ability of the Pro III. 9/20/2011 @ 23:49Z. How do I go about getting a QSL card from you ? My email add: KB1JXG@yahoo.com. The odd thing is I can only hear your beacon on my vertical antenna. I can't hear it on my buckmaster dipole though, 73
@Admiral92005 Great catch, if you are good on qrz.com I will get you a card out sometime this week. The band has been doing well. I just got a report from a guy in New Zealand that copied it the other day. Not bad for that low power. Thanks for the report!
@escueladeleyi not so much an experiment, but hams use beacons around the world so that other hams can see what states or parts of the world are possible to talk to at the time. Since radio propagation changes all the time, the locations you can hear or talk to change with it. Say that I hear a beacon from Alabama from my location in Minnesota, that would tell me signals are likely from here to there. Maybe someone else can elaborate more..it is a very useful tool.
@RadioHamGuy Once upon a time I used to talk SSB on 11 metres (CB) and thought of getting an AM license but those days are past now due to money shortages. Anyhow, I still plan to listen in using a good SW radio as I did in the old days. This is all getting me pumped to do it yet again.
@escueladeleyi I got my start in CB in the mid 1970's, been having fun with radio ever since, ahah...so I really enjoy it all. Sounds good on the SW radio, lot of stuff to listen to out there.
