She mysteriously disappeared over the pacific ocean while trying to be the first to fly around the world and hasnt been found. There are hundreds of consiracy theorys as to what happened. He was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic and to Hawaii though. She also broke an altitude record and first to fly cross country from DC -San Fran non stop.
