how the hell do I play this game? every campaign I end up letting the AI just do everything, which blows :(

I just purchased this game on Steam, but the tutorials are not very informative.

I want to learn how to play this game properly, and I would like an 'idiots guide' as to how to play this game well. Some YouTube videos would be useful.

You still need this info mate? I have an indepth strategy guide and supliment from an athour called Edwin Hanks. The in game tutorials are only to teach you the interface. These strat guides go into detail on a range of things from the economical aspect to military doctrines (tactics) to the tech tree and more. It even tells you how to get started and what to do.

I highly recomend it as it sheds light on everything.

lol I cheated on this.. I made Belgie a Fascist country with claims on netherlands and allied with Germany.

I wanted to test the game to its fullets so i cheated and got nukes. Well, They rolled over my country and the germans just sat there.. They captured my capital so i Nuked my capital.

Can you only play as the allies and the comunists or can you play like Sweden like in HOI 2?????

yes you can play most of the nation that existed at that time. that mean probably all of the nations you would know of.

Apparently it will have the same Historical Events of HoI 2, plus some new of some not really known nations of the time.

I remember finishing with Germany defeating allies but playing with Japan was harder, cant wait to play this part .I wish that I be able to play on-line

Actually, modifying the HoI series games are notoriously easy if you are editing many mechanics of the game, its almost as simple as opening up the correct .txt file, finding the value, and changing it.

I liked HOI 2 becouse it was easy to write your own events, change scenarios, tech teams and unit stats (even without an editor). Im sure HOI 3 will be much more complexed.

Yeah, Hearts of Iron 1 & 2 and Victoria: Empire Under the Sun are quite similar. The Europa Universallis series is made by paradox so they are similar in most aspects.
