NFL 2007 Draft Review 10th Pick Amobi Okoye

Okoye needs to start stepping up....I know he is still young but he has been in the league for 2 years now.....we need that push up front....I think he started playing better towards the end of last year...but he needs to get better.....I think the Texans will take a defensive tackle with 1st or 2nd pick in the draft....

Okoye put up 5.5 sacks...just like Williams did in his 1st season....Okoye is so young, could be one of the best ever sometimes....also, Houston made the right choice picking Mario Williams over Reggie Bush in the draft. Houston is a team to watch for.

Houstons getting one of the offensive lineman this year. If that tackle from Vanderbilt isn't there at 18 we may take a cornerback. We've got Ahman Green and Chris Brown. If anything happens to either one of those we still got Darius Walker who came in and played very well. The depth charts still full of backs so with that said, it would be hard for me to believe we'll take a RB. I doubt mendenhall will drop that far, if he did then maybe but I still think it's OL or CB for the 08 draft.

ima texans fan and i kinda feel that the texans havent really tried 2 get a star player that in his prime. they get a lot of build-a-roumd players, but havent really developed or got a star player. do u think that could be the problem 4 the texans?

Texans look pretty good as far as offense with Ahmann Green Matt Schaub Andre Johnson and that kid I've seen in the pre season running back kick offs and making big catches

that was great...here's a few points: Okoye is a 3 tech DT, so he will be lining up next to Mario. If teams double Okoye, Mario will be on the TE or RB. If they double Mario, Okoye will be man up and ILB DeMeco Ryans (defensive rookie of the year) will be free to clean up. Anthony Weaver will be on the other side.

After 5 yrs of Carr, I am ready for a QB that knows how to play the position.

Vtech9 you may have a point, I personally think Okoye may hit the wall during the 2nd half of the season do to his young youth, however he could be one of those freak players like Darryl Russel was in the early part of his career, we'll keep an eye on it thanks.....AL & Marc from the Chop Shop.

Great analysis! Very impressed. I agree that this cat might be the next Warren Sapp. Very similar builds and speed. It scary to thiuk how good Okoye could end up being in like 3-4 years. 19 years old and still dominated!

great analysis, okoye was good value at # 10, but i'm not sure he's gonna make the texans D line that much better, after all they have first round busts in travis johnson, jonathan babin while the jury is still out on mario williams..by default okoye automatically becomes the best player on the d line
