Okoye needs to start stepping up....I know he is still young but he has been in the league for 2 years now.....we need that push up front....I think he started playing better towards the end of last year...but he needs to get better.....I think the Texans will take a defensive tackle with 1st or 2nd pick in the draft....
Okoye put up 5.5 sacks...just like Williams did in his 1st season....Okoye is so young, could be one of the best ever sometimes....also, Houston made the right choice picking Mario Williams over Reggie Bush in the draft. Houston is a team to watch for.
Houstons getting one of the offensive lineman this year. If that tackle from Vanderbilt isn't there at 18 we may take a cornerback. We've got Ahman Green and Chris Brown. If anything happens to either one of those we still got Darius Walker who came in and played very well. The depth charts still full of backs so with that said, it would be hard for me to believe we'll take a RB. I doubt mendenhall will drop that far, if he did then maybe but I still think it's OL or CB for the 08 draft.
Im a Texans fan and season ticket holder but Im trying to figure out how the Texans passed up Patrick Willis at this spot for Okoye???? Can you imagine Willis and Demeco Ryans as our starting linebackers???
Can you all do a weekley show for us during the football season. It would be cool to get some sort of productions on off site places like sports bars, & beach houses, & frenchies.
ima texans fan and i kinda feel that the texans havent really tried 2 get a star player that in his prime. they get a lot of build-a-roumd players, but havent really developed or got a star player. do u think that could be the problem 4 the texans?
Texans look pretty good as far as offense with Ahmann Green Matt Schaub Andre Johnson and that kid I've seen in the pre season running back kick offs and making big catches
And the right choice as Rookie of the Year (Defense), and all that hype over everyone else just shows that the so-called experts, are just guessers after all.
wait wait hold on... 8th round pick for matt schaub? the texans gave up a 2nd rounder in 07 and 08 for him along with a swap of firsts (8 to 10)... there's not even 8 rounds in the draft!!!
Hey pamplonaaaron we love the gridiron but we are versatile in all of our topics we have a topic coming real soon talking about the year end review in 1988 taking you back in the past over some current events that happened that your with a cool roundtable discussion look out for us and tell others peace Al from the chop shop.
yo what up dudes. i really liked your analysis of the texans and the way they are shaping up their defense. i'm a die hard texans fan and really hope that okoye along with mario williams, demeco ryans, and dunta robinson will help bring a great defense to houston for years to come. you guys are very entertaining and definitely seem to know your stuff. oh yeah and props on getting the okoye selection right you were on the money all the way. later dudes
Hey bidredmachine3000 thanks for the love and yeah Houston record has done them no justice, they were in a lot of games they could've won, you guys are addressing the "D" now they should steal a solid wide out free agent good luck to the Texans......peace.......Al.
that was great...here's a few points: Okoye is a 3 tech DT, so he will be lining up next to Mario. If teams double Okoye, Mario will be on the TE or RB. If they double Mario, Okoye will be man up and ILB DeMeco Ryans (defensive rookie of the year) will be free to clean up. Anthony Weaver will be on the other side.
After 5 yrs of Carr, I am ready for a QB that knows how to play the position.
Vtech9 you may have a point, I personally think Okoye may hit the wall during the 2nd half of the season do to his young youth, however he could be one of those freak players like Darryl Russel was in the early part of his career, we'll keep an eye on it thanks.....AL & Marc from the Chop Shop.
Thanks pollower you and a lot of others have said the same thing, ESPN needs to check us out because we are you, the common fan no scripts just open opinions, flavor and passion for the love of the gridiron....peace Al.
Great analysis! Very impressed. I agree that this cat might be the next Warren Sapp. Very similar builds and speed. It scary to thiuk how good Okoye could end up being in like 3-4 years. 19 years old and still dominated!
Hey "ace" thanks for the response, and yeah that DT looks like a hog up front but only time will tell, hopefully he is the truth in time to come...Peace Al & Marc.
great analysis, okoye was good value at # 10, but i'm not sure he's gonna make the texans D line that much better, after all they have first round busts in travis johnson, jonathan babin while the jury is still out on mario williams..by default okoye automatically becomes the best player on the d line
Hey "lights" This is Al from The Chop Shop, you are right and thanks for your comment, as well as you, Me & my boys know Houston has to make moves Major! That young stud you have, only time will tell and you were right with your flavor too, get back at us and tell others.........Peace!!!!!!!
