@Labyrinth1959 You should hear the version (both, actually) by Anna Sophia Henry. The first is the better one, I think - that was when she was 9. The other one was sung when she was 12, I think. Check them out here on YouTube!

I stumbled on her music during one of my deployments in the sandbox. Didn't matter how terrible my day had been, how tired I was, or how homesick, her voice could always put me at ease. This particular song always sent me straight to the banks of the little river that flows through my home town.
She is an astonishing singer, her voice floats the high notes so easily. I'm a recent fan, and glad to make the discovery. From reading her Wiki bio, I learned she is a Unicef ambassador and does a lot of charitable work, notably bikes for girls in Ghana, so they can go to school, and cancer fund raisers. Amazing since she is only 23. She happens to be mostly vegetarian, and is such and angel that PETA tried to ride her coattails, but she does not seem to be a fan. We are blessed by her.
the 1 truly amazing thing about Hayley apart from her amazing singing ..is that its never gone to her head ..shes just so down to earth and a really nice person she signed my C.D and she was more interested in making me happy then just pushing me aside to do the next signed autograph she is just amazing

I've never seen any reference on fan sites or biographies of any other involvement with PETA. I don't know much about PETA, but thought they were a rather militant and radical bunch.
@Sqid101 Your right about peta, they kill more animals than they save. At their HQ's in Virgina they have been cited several time for illegal dumping of animal remains. People working for them took a bunch of cats and dogs they "rescued" from a no-kill shelter, loaded them in a van then killed them by various means and dumped the carcsus in a dumpster. They are supposed to creamate them but don't. Ain't life grand.

I dare say all versions of this song have their strengths and weaknesses.
This is from an album that was on the British Classical charts which means that it has no background synthesization or editing.
For those who like this song there is a range of different versions all worth listening to.

I stumbled on her music during one of my deployments in the sandbox. Didn't matter how terrible my day had been, how tired I was, or how homesick, her voice could always put me at ease. This particular song always sent me straight to the banks of the little river that flows through my home town.

She is an astonishing singer, her voice floats the high notes so easily. I'm a recent fan, and glad to make the discovery. From reading her Wiki bio, I learned she is a Unicef ambassador and does a lot of charitable work, notably bikes for girls in Ghana, so they can go to school, and cancer fund raisers. Amazing since she is only 23. She happens to be mostly vegetarian, and is such and angel that PETA tried to ride her coattails, but she does not seem to be a fan. We are blessed by her.

@Woundtootight Isnoyz may know something that I don't, but I am very sceptical about her supposed "involvement" with PETA. PETA once listed her as one of the world's "sexiest" vegetarians, but even that wasn't accurate because it turned out she isn't a strict vegetarian. I've never seen any reference on fan sites or biographies of any other involvement with PETA. I don't know much about PETA, but thought they were a rather militant and radical bunch.

@Sqid101 Your right about peta, they kill more animals than they save. At their HQ's in Virgina they have been cited several time for illegal dumping of animal remains. People working for them took a bunch of cats and dogs they "rescued" from a no-kill shelter, loaded them in a van then killed them by various means and dumped the carcsus in a dumpster. They are supposed to creamate them but don't. Ain't life grand.
