Well you have to be careful. As a video professional "being hurried" is not a good excuse at not getting names correctly. Just keep that in mind when you finish you film.
I've seen some great footage achieved with the Canon HV20 and HV30. You can shoot in 24/30F which is v.close to panasonics 24/30P in look. I think the HV is less than half the cost of the DVX. You should take a look at some user footage on vimeo.
hey man thats some good footage. it would have looked more like a movie if shot in 24 p although im not sure what look you were trying to achieve. but good work!
i'v tested it (24 or standart fps) many times before, and i think it heve more look lice film when it shot on standart DV fps and then slowing down speed from 100% to 92-94, and after that rendered in 24 fps.
FINALLY! Some movement with the camera! I'm sick of watching films where the camera is stationary. MOVEMENT!! And also, not only was there movement, but there was diversity in the shots and all you were doing was filming a dude doing math on a piece of paper. Thank you. You understand key components to the art of film making. I want to see a real full length film with dialogue.
i hate it, i think its awful and needs to do alot more to be worth any recognition.... let that be the hate that fuels you to go further man, you can make it in the film industry if u can do that with just a simple camera like a DVX100
That's the most professional thing I've seen shot w/ the DVX100. Really nice. Send me a message when you get it done. You should create a Vimeo account.
Very very nice I'm sure what ever you used is a secret beyond the dvx-100 but i'm not mad at cha if you figured out how to do it thats cool. But if someone taught you how share like they did with you best wishes with your project
Good job - don't let anyone tell you less because those are the ones not doing shit

Why all the haters? That guy did a really good job with the camera shots, except for a few clips that was too long.

@madichelp0 I think it has potential, I love the classic film "The Time Machine" released in 1960 and directed by George Pal.

This looks like a good will hunting ripoff. just the way you shot it, and do the slow dissolve and such.

Can you tell me what version of dvx family 100, 100a, 100b this piece was shot with?
bigblock337 3 years ago
It's nice. Good lighting and colors.
Do you remember what shutter you used here?
It looks like 1/24 (or 1/25 if PAL)..
The movements looks sort of videoish..
You should try to keep the shutter at 1/48 to get a good motion blur..

2) What shutter speed did you use?
Beautiful job!

How is this widescreen without any adaptors?
I was under the impression the DVX-100 had no 16:9 chip, but maybe that's only the DVX-100B.
MrYummy 4 years ago
i'm just made a wide screen in after effects.(letter box)
i made film frame size.for exemple 640*242. or 512*272
or other film frame size. and then rendered it in 720*576
something like that.try.!
Rozhdestvo 4 years ago
hey, great cinematography!
How do you make the very widescreen?
did you shoot this on 16:9, with anamorphic lens, or just 4:3 and then cropped?
Cheers!
