  • Burndsman1-- I read your comments on Bobby Debarge on your website... I'm wondering why this album was never released... just from the comments here it's apparent that it would have been a hit. It's a shame that many people have missed the opportunity to obtain this great piece of work by the late Bobby Debarge. Not to mention the potential financial benefit for this wife and kids. what happened- how did this fall threw the cracks?

  • it was released in 1995. Be patient something nice will happen with Bobby's last work and it will be available for the public..

  • @Burndsman1 be patient but, when, before the year is out maybe? Do tell ;

  • This not me, Bernd Lichters aka Burndsman, but a memory of Bobby DeBarge (Switch, DeBarge and solo 'It's Not Over'), a song from the It's Not Over album. and Jorge Aznar and the NY Film Academy Los Angeles making a video with actors to 'Taste Of Your Love'

  • @ Burndsman, Its wonderful that you are so dedicated in finding different ways to expose Bobby Debarge's music. I am a late bloomer because I was not born when Switch was hot but my mom was crazy about them as well as Debarge. During my college Summer break I decided to research his music after watching his story. I feel like I am in your footsteps because everywhere I go online you've been there spreading Bobby's memory. I hope you continue to keep his work alive. Just wanted you to know.

  • are u really a debarge who is your father?????

  • This is a beautiful song that makes you cry and think about life. Bobby Debarge had an angelic voice that the Lord gave to him. R.I.P. the music live lives!

  • would you happen to have his song "I've been so lonely without you" from the white heat days?

  • Bobby and Tommy Debarge...the DEbarge family is huge...

  • i never heard this song befroe ..... but i like though ...

  • This song makes me want to cry.

  • This was my first time hearing this song, I LOVE IT!!!!! It's so moving, WOW!!!! Such a great talent, what a wonderful family....

  • where can u purchace this cd???? god bless bobby and the debrage family

  • Saturday, August 16, 2008 is the 13th year of Bobby DeBarge's passing.

We celebrate his liefe and music.

    Thank you

  • Little Site Note:

Today Robert Louis (Bobby) DeBarge jr. will receive an ASCAP Soul Music Award for Hip Hop track 'Throw Some Dss' Rich Boy, using Bobby's (Switch) song 'I Call Your Name'.

    Congratulations Bobby DeBarge (RIP)

  • Amazing. RIP, Mr. Robert DeBarge

  • This is a powerful video, as well a powerful song.R.I.P. Bobby DeBarge.

  • Actually this is Bobby Debarge Yes, he did have a naturally high voice, when he was with Switch. I have this cd. It's Not Over, by Bobby Debarge. The reason his voice sounds a bit different is that Bobby was very sick therefore he was very weak. He was livng out his last years of life. Bobby was dying from Aids when he recorded this cd. With him being very sick, it took a toll on his voice. In my opinion Bobby still sounded very wonderful on this cd.

  • That makes hearing this so special.

  • That sure is Bobby DeBarge from Switch and some of the last songs he did before he passed on Aug 116, 1995. This song was done in one take, vocals and piano at the same time.

  • this song is amazing!!

him throwing chairs...had me feel some of the anger he felt, unbelievable.

The Debarge Family is my favorite music family of all times!!

  • YOU , my man ARE a talent and something for your predecessors to look up to!!

do it Bobby DeBarge!...do it baby boy!!

  • Foreverlarge, i think that's an excellent idea about 'I didn't mean to hurt you' as a promotional video. Mr Lichter please consider it. AIDS has and is still touching so many people's lives, I think bobby's amazing voice along with what he went through would be amazing way of spreading awareness and helping in the fight against ignorance.

  • Mr. Lichters you obviously have invested a lot in promoting Bobby's final album and "Taste of Your Love" is one of the most powerful songs, especially when you realize he was struggling and straining his voice to finish the tune. But the most beautiful crafted and sung tune is "I Didn't Mean To Hurt You." This is the song that should promote the album. If you are going to invest in another video invest in on that that song and turn it into a tribute to the last days of Bobby DeBarge...

  • ... And use "I Didn't Mean To Hurt You" as a promotional video in the fight against ignorance and for AIDS awareness. I am sure organizations in the fight against AIDS and those who have died and still living with the diesease would appreciate it.

  • This is real good idea to use "Never Meant To Hurt You Baby' for AIDS Awaremess.

Anybody want to join in the fight please let me know.

  • Thanks Burndsman. I would love to have this albumI'd also love it if Switch's albums were in cd form. This is a beautiful ballad. We need this music

  • This song is "!"

  • Thank you for sharing. Unlimited talent. A true writer w/ a beautiful, gospel influenced voice. No doubt, Switch was the pride of GR. On the day of the funeral it rained and rained. God bless and keep all your families.

  • God bless Bobby! Boy, if people know what you went through with pops. At least the pain is over. Eldra, stay strong dog, please!!!!!

  • this video reminds me of a silent movie from the 20s

    so melodramatic

bobby's magnificent vocal makes up for it and soars to heaven

thank you bobby for your gift

your voice & soul lives forever

  • " they 'll never be "..so appropriate for b. debarge..one of greatest pure voices of the 80s and 90s..rest in peace.

  • Speaking as a hardcore listener of DeBarge, They are such a talented family. Rest in peace, Bobby.

  • This song is a lesson to us. Bobby was a true vocalist and a true musician. The songs he wrote with Switch and Debarge are TIMELESS. Too bad we cant get the same kind of music in R&b Today. I hope one day R&b and funk will have the same Real Musicians and singers like Bobby and Sly and Tony Lemans and many other True Artist gave to us. Thank you Bobby! Rest In Peace.

  • wow. amazing to hear BD's voice everytime. What a gift. RIP

  • its such a shame when was living he understood what good music was all about. hiv and aids is such a terrible way to die, rest in peace bobby you will be missed.

  • Man, I didn't know that. How did he contract it? That is so sad, and terrible...what a terrible shame.

  • It's never been confirmed, but (I think) he probably contracted it from the needle, since he was heavily into drugs for a while. His brother chico thinks he got it in prison.

  • thanks for responding, and telling me what went on. I appreciate it. I have a question for you. Are you a female, or a female.

  • Bobby is so so SO missed - thank you for this video Bernds you are a TRUE friend to the DeBarges - you may as well change your last name to DeBarge LOL... be blessed! BTW: its M Yvette (Maiyasmomii)

  • Boy the DeBarge's family have some nice voices. Rest In Peace Bobby

  • Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I grew up listing to SWITCH, and 'They'll Never Be' is the very first song my big sis made me memorize to record on our old tape recorder. Bobby's voice is special as is his memory(R.I.P). THANK U SO MUCH!

  • BEAUTIFUL!! Very sad & emotional. GOD Bless you Bobby. Hopefully you are in heaven singing with the ANGELS. R.I.P.

  • ALL OF THE DEBARGE SOUND THE SAME!!!!!!!! THOSE Beautiful high pitched voices.

  • i miss bobby. he should have never done drugs. what was the name of this album. RIP

  • R.I.P Bobby, beautiful song..

  • Thanks for uploading this video, it is nice. RIP Bobby

  • You are so welcome.

  • R.I.P Bobbby Debarge..I have this album (Bobby's last album) He was very weak when he recorded this album (from the liner notes).. Shocked to find this song on this video..Much respect to you for uploading it

  • I hope you enjoy it. Thought at this trying time it is good for Bobby (RIP) to give Love expression in Bobby DeBarge's way.
