the only reason (i'm guessing) he's idling it so slow is you can listen to everything the engines doing you can hear the push rods, the valves clicking and the cylinders moving ok so its a little rough on the engine but it gives a good perspective

At that idle speed you're getting no oil pressure at all, way to ruin that engine.

Its a 1940 Knuckle head, they idle very low. If it has a performance cam, which it sound s like it does, this will make it lope that way.
