@guiatr234 I didnt follow the nutrition plan. I ate what I thought was a balanced meal of vegetables, meats, and carbs (rice). When it comes to bodybuilding or changing your physical state, its usually 80% nutrition and 20% work(exercise, etc).
@11033066099 A smaller, tighter core comes from cardio based exercises, proper nutrition, and abdominal exercises. P90X offers all of that and more. Cardio and Nutrition go hand in had, you wont be able to get a smaller frame by just doing situps. However, if you just do cardio and have good nutrition you will achieve a smaller frame. Ab workouts are the least of all the three.
nice results dude! ive done about ten days of P90x so far and then i got sick for like 6 days and couldnt workout im better now but its hard to get back into it. any tips to stay motivated im really tryin to get skinny and more muscle?
@gskip94 Im glad to hear you got better =). As far as motivation goes I like to think of exercising like this: Every time I engage in a workout whatever that may consist of, im bettering my life right then and there. I think if you approach exercise from that standpoint you wouldnt feel so unmotivated. Ultimately, motivation is going to have to come from within you. Exercise for yourself, not for others because at the end of the day, it is you who really deal with whether or not you are healthy.
@krysspyda I did my best to do them yes. I skipped a few days during the program but it wasnt because I was afraid of losing weight. Plyometrics will help you lose weight if you are heavier but its also a great leg muscle building workout. I recommend not skipping it if you have a choice. I think Kenpo is less Cardio intensive and more for fun.
@krysspyda Naturally you would gain more muscle mass with doing less Cardio. Its, however, really hard to not gain muscle mass while doing Plyometrics. Plyometrics is mainly explosive training so you dont build lean muscle as running allows you to. With that said the muscle you gain is closer to "bulk" than "lean" so you will gain muscle mass. Its a personal choice but remember that to Cardio is in the program for a reason. It sure helped me in cutting fat % and in overall fitness
@TrackSleepyWeather When I did my first round of P90X I didnt keep count of my calories. I would assume over 2k? 3k would be pushing it. I have a very fast metabolism so I can eat almost anything and still burn it off. I didnt stick to a strict diet nor did I use any supplements. Thanks for the comment
@TrackSleepyWeather Thanks! And yes I did the classic version. During lunch @ my HS I played frisbee so i was running around some and had gym so i was doing whatever we did that day so that counts as more cardio i suppose. But i stuck to the classic schedule basically
what weights did you use for each phase? i will be starting it next week and i am 16. I'm much much bigger than you when you started so ill be losing the weight instead of gaining it. did you follow the diet plan?
@osmosizz I used 10s and 20s for the most part. As the months went by I became stronger and had to increase my reps past the recommended 8-10/12-15 numbers. So 10-25s lbs is what I'd suggest. Maybe even 30s if you are adventurous enough
Naturally the way to gain weight is to eat more calories than you burn while working out. To gain more muscle weight I'd suggest more protein so that your muscles develop faster. Remember muscle weighs more than fat.
hey good job keep at it...... but you should get your traps bigger! i think that even if a person can have nice pecs and abs and arms the lats and traps can really bring out the shape in your body!!!! but good job hands down
give me sum eating tips bro what should i eat ...im mexican i usually eat eggs with beans and riice =P......tips bra tips please im 2 skinny and trying to gain and get ripped like u..help dude.
From what i can see what you eat has a lot of protein, which is good! Umm Id advice drinking milk everyday. If not 3x a day. Morning, lunch, dinner. Each ounce of milk you drink has about 1 gram of protein (From what i heard). So drink drink. Id suggest eating less calories than you burn if u want to lose weight and vice e versa if u want to gain. Just remember that Muscle weighs more than fat. Try not to drink sodas it takes your oxygen away! and Eat veggies and fruits. =)
ooo, ok, thanks!!! i'm doing about the same, except i thnk need to cut a little bit on carbohidrates, like rice, since i am to lose fat weight, but still, if i don't, i feel like i won't have enough energy to follow the program properly, so maybe i will cut on pastas, bread, and of course "tortillas" hahaha. in your case, you were to gain muscle weiight. nicely done, it's very obvious P90x works... another question. did you do the kenpo thing, i saw it, but it doesn't look like it helps much!!!
Kenpo X in my opinion is very crucial to the program and for getting great results. You can do 1000 push ups and sit ups but if you dont "burn" the fat away then the push/sits wont help much. Kenpo is also 1/2 cardio routines(PLyo is the other) and skipping it is leaving out 1/2 the cardio "required" to get "totally ripped" Aside from the physical needs of it, Kenpo gave me confidence in "fighting" and it was fun to do. I did skip a few days but i recommend you try it.

@rotaryshinka also do like 4-6 reps and youlle gain more size.
the less reps you do the more size you get.
however the less reps you do the less efficient your muscles are. the best overall amount of reps is like 8-12

There's a difference in gaining 'pounds' and gaining 'muscles' when working out.
But anyways I just wanted to say you look great, keep it up. My brother just recently got this and I'm gonna see if I can start it soon.
Even tho I'm a girl... I could really use the arm strength lol.

And i understand what you mean about the pounds compared to muscles =) Much appreciated on the corrections
Best of luck to you and your brother =)
