  • why does everybody have to get a stick up their ass about the words he uses?

he made the planes, so he can call them whatever the fuck he wants.

also, fronterons is easier to remember than leading edge slats.

  • stop being a money hogging douche and call them canards. u did not invent "fronterons"

  • @toolbaggers leading edge slats, canards, whatever....the only truth is, ixs that u stole "fronterons".........................douche

  • please call them slats instead of making up names like fronterons

  • Creek not crick

  • those aren't fronterons, they're called slats.

  • how the heck do you fly in such a small place!!

  • Lol it sounds like a huge mosquito.

  • I've become very attached to this design. I don't believe I'll ever be without one. I've been flying it in the medium speed range and it's just mind blowing how much perfomance it delivers! A great simple design that is so much fun! Thanks!

  • built this plane like 8 times, wasted about 150dollars for the materials and electronics . Thank you

  • is it you and your wife making planes or somethin

  • You should glue two fins underneath either side of the prop. They wont really affect the flight characteristics but will protect the prop when landing

  • so cool.

  • what kinda cam is that and how did you hook it up to the plane?

  • Comment removed

  • jsut waisted a ton of foam for this one, maybe the 5mm foam dont work

  • 3:31 is that the hydro? and what 's that other white plane?

  • "fronterons" is not a real word.

  • how thick is the depron u used

  • @RCexperimentalGerm He uses 6 mm

  • I really like your idea on your elevons with that servo. thats a cool idea how you have your control horns top and bottom to work like that. Great ideas. these planes fly really good also

  • hey heres an idea for u put a KF 4 on it and it could stop the wing rock with the fronterons also why won't u attatch servos to the fronteron so when in hi alpha u turn it on then when ur doing tricks there is no drag

  • hey you guys are in SoCal it doesn't get that cold there. SUCK IT UP!!!

  • @4202cvinc Ha! We moved. This was filmed at our new place in the Portland area and it snowed just a few hours later that day.

  • @RCSuperPowers Hey finally escaped the blackhole of SoCal. Congrats. What ever took you to Or though. You know they HATE Californians up there. That's why I lie when I'm in Portland. Hope it was a good decision. The vids are still great. But nothing like having Pasadena and surroundings in the vids.

Oh but you left your background noise and comments in Pasadena, the vids won't be the same.

  • It would probably fly oh very nice if you put a kf on it too.

  • how does it weight?

  • Hey Dave, Awesome flying, cutting out mine today. Was just wondering- what type of paint do you use?

    -gbasuka

  • @gbasuka

it's best to use water based paint, otherwise you will melt your plane.

just keep in mind that the paint gets pretty heavy in big amounts.

Good luck with your flying = )

    more question, just ask :-)

  • hey can u make this plane with epp foam instead of depron? i'm a super noob at planes (for some reason i can fly heli's just fine but not planes) epp would be lots more forgiving in a crash.

  • Hey! Which camera are you using there? It seems cheap, and I'm looking for one like that for a quadcopter project I have.

  • never heard of a fronteron, is that something you came up with?

  • PLEASE ! Make videos of how to make planes like Hawk sky.

  • how about two tiny stabs to the wing tips?

  • you guys should make and sell these things! i would like to fly planes like this, but dont feel ready to put them together myself. im more of a RTF guy. or at least sell the pre-cut foam with motor mounts, linkeges ect.

  • fxdcg

  • Next time do the canard elevators

  • They're still not "Fronterons" they're slats

  • where did you get the transmitter???? I cant find a four channel!!

  • @rcfreak124 look for a local hobby shop, they will usually sell a DX5 for around 80 pounds and the DX series are compatible with allmost anything like BAF kits or scratchbuilds

  • would you ship planes to the uk? like make them then sell them

  • nice plane Dave : )

  • cold

  • nice

  • put a gyro on the roll

  • dave quick question about the props the 6x4 props are more jet type props and the gws 6x3x3 is for non jet stuff like the beginner planes

  • Thats not a question O.O

  • Neocitran Dave, Neocitran.

  • add a wing fence, like the ole Mig 15een's

  • Oh yeah the Hawk sky ehehehe

  • hey dave n' val havnt seen u in a while cuz me internet got cut out stupid virgin media =D

nice vid oh yeah and same for the other one that looks bit like the sky hawk ==DD

  • Nice vids, thanks.

  • how have u been dealing with the rain?

  • Nice job Dave...good to see ya!

    JD Saldivar

  • If you camber the wingtips down it might help the tip-stall problem

  • Love the videos. Watch them again and again. However have to laugh when you use terms like fonterons when you mean leading edge slats. Keep up the great work. It's nice to have you back.

  • @B4its2L8guy Dear sir B4its2L8guy you are being a safety nazi, and a super one at that! Very few if any foam rc crashes ever result in fire! Pshaw! Its ridiculous!

mr rc powers is a super hero of rc role models in creativity, safety and fun! Go fly a kite!

  • thank you for the advise on a simulator. katrina

  • soo which prop did you like better the 6x3x3 or the 6x4?

  • Comment removed

  • @uselink5 I like both, depends on what I want to do that day:

GWS 6x3x3 I like best for slow flights with good acceleration and little torque roll.

APC 6x4 Prop for fast speed.

  • Comment removed

  • cool

  • i would like to see this with a KF on top and bottom. Seems like the plane is always nose up in forward flight.

  • I cant fly as good as you because I dont have an RCPowers sticker on my plane. :(

  • haha, I like your carbon footprint lol

  • i downloaded the pdf for this x-31. i went ahead and bought the hardware kit but im not sure if it comes with the propellor or not. where do i get one? and what about servo arms? do those get replaced by clevises or horns?

  • that jet is awesome i love the way you hooked up the elevons sweet!!!!!!

  • that on board camera makes it like your own personal predator A1

  • yay dave and val video good video 5*'s

  • Good video!!

  • Dave are you guys cold??? You will get use to it.

  • a gyro on the roll maybe

  • still needs the movable canards

  • Great video, as always! but I miss Keith..

  • --Streamliner009, I miss Keith too. He sort of balanced out the act.

  • were is he?

  • @taofledermaus what happen to keith o.O?

  • @lolsalad100 I'm sure when Dave moved from LA to where ever they are now Keith stayed in LA. He had/has a YT channel but I can't remember what it is so I don't know if he is still posting his own videos.

  • Please clue us in with the no screws on your servo arms.

  • in the crik???and whats with the hobo gloves? nice job explaining your process

  • @zostritch

lol if you have been following them for very long you would understand the Crik reference

  • what about adding verticle wing rudder-things? could focus the air even more over the wing-tips, reducing the wibble wabble...increasing the laminar flow!

  • (it does sound like your flying in a cave...lol)...bet in the Summer you'l hit some cool thermals, right in your back yard!

  • Oh veryy nice and try to make the canards move:-)

  • That thing is LOUD!

  • i relly like that red 1

    0:52

  • Nice plane!! Good flying...But Fronterons? Where did you get that? They are called Leading Edge Slats. :)

  • @PatBALEX He's an aeronautical engineer don't ya know.

  • nice and fast plane! wow

  • It was more successful then the real X31 LOL

  • Thats not really fair, it only crashed once. The real x-31 was a huge success for fighter development

  • Looks like its cold man, nice flying even when it all went pear shaped, lol!

  • Nice is this your new home? With a Crick in the back yard???

  • @youtwoba

    I think it's called a warsh.

  • scary motor sound, soudns like as if it was flown in a giaaaant empty room

  • ilove the camera footage while its in the air. You should make a video of just that it would be awesome haha

  • For some reason, this video feels more like the older videos Dave used to do. I like it. More testing please :)

  • cool mod and testing...

  • You sound slightly stuffed up & congested. Are you feeling alright?

  • Maybe it's just missing some dihedral for extra stability? maybe at a small cost of aerobatic maneuverability.. lol

  • u should do a vid were u set the plane on fire and see how long it takes to die

  • @PSNcrazy95

that would be cool for sure!!!!!

  • wat happend to your vtol project?

  • 3 little Messican fellas stole Dave's vtol project and sold it for taco meat. go make your own.

  • sweet vid. looks like a lot of very hungry foam eating trees around. really liked the push pull vectoring thrust mod

  • how do you use to record while flying

  • check his other vids, he explains that.. i think its call flycam 1 or 2

  • see sidebar, "GraysonCam"

  • but im toooooo stoopid to look in the sidebar. can you do it for me??????

  • I, as always, enjoyed the video keep up the good work.

    Thanks

  • Did you move to Oregon, or are you just visiting? Where you are doesn't look anything like SoCal.

  • 4:31 i was like if he makes it out of that i will mail him 50 bucks

  • cuz it just makes it look cooler. lol

  • there was no hey alright but any are u guys flying in your backyard

  • You've got some SERIOUS trees around there...

    :)

  • Well done again, always good! man that plane is ugly!!

  • Hey Dave

Alot of the delta wing jets, Rafale etc have the slats (fronterons) constantly retracting and extending depending on what the aircraft is doing. Having them permanently extended may only just help with low speed stability.

  • @digitaldissent

-Whatever he said ;) Nah, thats completely true, was just about to write it myself, keep in mind that the slats doesnt work / gives you the wanted effect, when going fast..

  • to day the battery my friend cave me was dead and i crashed my .40 size trainer! i piss at him it cost me 450$!

  • Keith?! KEITH?! :( where is keith?

  • a sasquatch got him

  • Looking good Val and Dave. Next time get us a shot of Mt. Hood. :) I was just in at PDX a couple of days ago, a pretty nice morning. Anyway, glad to see you are still at it. Nice job!

  • dave ,love the comment .........lol

just finished the video for my new plane made out

of foam plates and plastic cups.

  • How did you end up in Oregon?

  • wow the weather there looks really cold

    but still snow :D

  • Where's Keith?

  • he's probably back in Califonia

  • i miss keith

  • i'll miss seeing keith in you videos...

  • AND put a gyro onit as well

  • those wingtip fronterons give it a dogtooth kink like you would see on an f-18 or a mig-23

  • yer do u have a cold dave

  • Great control there Dave ;-) i've had my all cut out and ready to go but our poor weather has had me grounded for way to long now ;-( more sim time than i like but what you going to do ;-) 5*

  • Do the neighbours mind the noise. It echos!

  • Your a brave man flying with all those tree around!

  • pure skills at 4:43 !!!! ;)

  • do the sky hawk videoo!!!!

  • that plane is awesome!

  • Dave, I see Val's been feeding you well lately. lol

Nice to see you guys back with regular weekend videos.

  • Jimmy4manutd7ronaldo @ BF Oregon looks like a peaceful beautiful place. LA is for people that like smog, heavy traffic, and crowds.

  • those are called slats i believe. Airliner have that on their FLAPS 1

  • @myrandomspaces yea, leading edge slats are used on many fighter aircraft to help with slow speed flight, then during high speed flgiht

  • ive still got ur camera i need to send out to ya in america lol

    Andy s

  • Wow. Great video, and you live in a nice area, too. I, however, still miss California after leaving. Do you miss the Winter weather in California?

I now have to wear gloves, too, but it makes it harder to fly. What you need is a transmitter glove, which you put your entire DX6 and your hands into for cold weather.

  • Looks like a dart O.o

  • what happened with the plane-gyro setup videos?

  • what ever happened to the f-35

  • 3 Messicans stole it. Go make your own.

  • hey dave...nice setup.

hey val...nice outfit :) like your cap

  • wow DAVE are you getting the cold flying down!! hot glue does not work that good in the cold.Keep up the new videos!!! LOVE THEM ALL

  • coldzy coldz ?

  • hey good job keep it up

  • leading edge slats

  • oops that last catch didnt work

  • found any rc-buddies in your area?

  • very nice plane dave. it looks like it is fun to fly.

  • will grayson hobby sell to the uk?

please reply to me, i really need to know.

  • Hydro at 3:30?? Very nice work Dave!

  • 0:42 neat setup indeed

4:00 pretty cool way to launch it

You've got some pretty high trees around there...

  • tweaky tweaks

  • I miss Keith...

  • Why? He was a funny guy and there was a nice chit-chat going on.

  • wow u should make a whole video with the camera on the plain IT LOOKS SO COOL!

  • looks good, I like how you did the linkage between the elevons and the TV tabs. I'm gonna have to remember that trick.

  • D-Train!!!! You wearing gloves. Miss you man. also, quit making up words like Fronteron and Eleron. What's next: Electron?

  • dude love all of your work what kind of motor do you use for the majority of your planes Brushless?

  • @RMakane look in the description buddy

  • still loving the vids, but I am sure missing that old guy. :(

  • @BellowingBeaver yeah, a shame you don't see Keith anymore...

  • whos house is that?

  • dont look like your enjoyin that cold weather dave lol

  • Nice rolls there!

  • you guys have very good quality and its awesome

  • 30th comment

  • Heh - "slow your roll"
