@bongobl The aim constraint can be used to aim one object at another while constraining it to an axis. The target tag will make one object always aim (or point) to another object.
is there a tutorial around for rigging rigid structures like that somewhere? Just started out with Cinema 4D myself and made a decent robot looking thing, wanted to start rigging it next :D
@hann992 There arent any tutorials for this specifically. If you're looking to rig mechanical stuff, I would look around for constraint tutorials. Mechanical stuff is usually done with constraints... and in the case of a robot with arms and legs, then IK.
@ShepperdOneill Thanks man! Got another one for you! I've had problems importing FBX from maya, some animation someone did for me - it looks really funny when I import it, the skin isn't doing what it is suppose to, though ALL the bones and joints are working - hints? I also got the blend shapes and the original model in the scene.
@hann992 Not sure about that one. Ive only used 1 fbx from Maya, and that was from our client, however it didnt have any bones/joints. It was just the model with no textures.
Anyway we could download these wips? :D Im a huge fan of stargate universe so XD everything of it i want! XD

Those cams look sick! Could you make a version that operates the gun with cams too? That would be awesome! -Nax

Where did you get the Idea of the model? did you just make create it as your own or did you look at an image while modeling

@Que70 Its one of the weapons on the Destiny from Stargate Universe.

@ShepperdOneill oh, it's really cool. and the wheel rotations were set up with xpresso right?
Que70 1 year ago
@Que70 The wheels use the free gear builder plugin. It was easier and quicker than manually setting everything up in xpresso. :)

when the gun raises up and down. air pumps or whatever are moving. Was that rig set up with xpresso or were they constraints?
bongobl 1 year ago
@bongobl It can be done with contraints, but I used target tags.

@ShepperdOneill yeah Idk what's the difference between a target tag and an aim constraint?

@tiagom135 LOL That might be a good idea to test out the firing of the gun.
