I have no idea why you guys would want these creatures. My plant tank was being invaded by these guys and I was looking for ways to kill it. They killed all my plants and my fishes did not eat these bugs. Are they special? Probably not.
@babebutterfly Set up a new tank and let it balance. wash each plant incuding the roots so there is no mud. Transplant in the new tank. Ostracodes lay double walled eggs that can survive dessication. A fresh medium is the way to go.

Where do you live and how many do you want? I can get them by the millions but they have to be shipped like fish. Try your local pond first.
