Great looking sauce! I make my own no-cook BBQ sauce (for amateurs) that could be a base sauce for the extrasi that you add. Slightly sweet and a hint of smoke. Hope you'll take a look. Thanks for a great video!
Any kind of blender or food processor works well. If you use a blender, be sure do do small amounts at a time so it wont overflow. Its best to let the sauce cool before adding to a blender.
I dunno, my friend made it and it was okay, then again, I don't like ginger all too much. I like the sauces made by BBQ Pit Boys better. And any sauce is better when you grow your own ingredients. Canned organic tomatoes my ass. lol.
And to the predictable argument, (retard voice-over)"why don't you make your own sauce and show us?" It's because I don't own a digital camera. Or a Kitchen Aid, lol.
Mollassess is a syrup found in the pancake isle. Its what is used to make giner bread cookies. I also like the flavor of it in choc chip cookies and whole wheat bread.
actually frying the ginger and onion was right, they are aromatics it has something to do with the oils and such in the food itself , sauteeing or sweating these types of food actually inhance the flavor greatly as well as give a great aroma as long as its not over cooked.. the method is usally used for soups or sauces
whats the substitute of molasses??
xeeloveanil 6 months ago
@xeeloveanil There are a number of substitutions that can be made for molasses. one of the following may be used (with varying degrees of success):
black treacle (which is very similar to molasses)
honey
dark corn syrup
maple syrup
¾ of the volume of firmly packed brown sugar, especially soft dark brown sugar

This looks like it would taste great. However calling it "classic BBQ sauce is pushing it a little isn't it? Still I am going to try it.

If you're smoking your ribs (and you should be), I don't see why you'd need artificial smoke flavoring in your BBQ sauce.
