i suggest learning basic baby scratch and cutting techniques to do something like this. djangelo has some straight to point tutorials... u can do same on turntable and mouse, it just takes more practice on mouse, those that already know how on turntable can learn it on mouse faster lol...

@jacinto910 On the newest virtual DJ in order to "Scratch" you need to set the cross fader command pompt key to 50% instead of 100% that it's at in the control area. Then you have to hold down "Ctrl" and "Page up" For open and "Page down" for closed. Virtual DJ gets alot of shit talk, but it's actually a pretty damn good DJ software.

For all the comments on how to use the crossfader with the keyboard - look for the keyboard shortcuts menu in preferences.. You can see what they are and change them if you want.

@siwy4don scratching is always the same but you have to know a good part of a song to make a good scratch. Download a acapella version of a song then you have better scratches as with a whole song

It's not fake. He is using a shortcut to jump from the middle of the crossfader to one deck and back while simultaneously making the backward-forward movements on the deck- thus forth simulating scratching...ingenius.

Granted he won't be pulling any triple flares or crab scratches, but this sounds great for a mouse and keyboard...heck it sounds great for a beginner (like myself) on turntables.

Oh, so you have to drag the mouse to the record in order to scratch. It would've been a better idea to use left click for the left track and right click for the right track and drag back and forth to scratch.
