If NLP has any cred to it, this is what happened. Fact one, looked right, hesitated, looking right technically means you are creating an image instead of remembering.

You paused for a bit when you were trying to describe the shootout as "scary". If it were true, you wouldn't need to search your memory for a good word to describe one of the most terrifying moments of your life. The fear after recalling of the memory would probably show on your face, as well.

I watch the show as well, but I have to disagree. Forgetting does not = lying. You can't "forget" something if it didn't happen in the first place. People do forget details to true events, and trying to remember them would cause someone to look away searching their thoughts. (See the Pilot Episode,toward the end, when Lightman asks the kid about is track times. The kid tries to remember the times, and he looks away, trying to answer truthfully.) I believe IG was constructing the third fact.

im guessing they all were false. #1 you looked to the right which means you were thinking of a fake memory. #2 you put in detail to your story, and looked directy into the camera to hope we buy the lie. #3 it seemed like you couldn't think of what to say at the end.

1st One - because in the first one he looks to the right on 1:08..Its proven when you tell the truth you look to the left becuase your entering the memory part of your brain when you look to the right your entering the imageitive side of your brain. so #1 is fake.

Fact 1 is false because he looked to the right, meaning he was fabricating, not remembering. If he was remembering, he would have looked towards his left or bottom left. Easy stuff

Keep in mind "right" is sometimes "right", and the direction the person look varies on the person. However, in this case I think 1 is false too, because he glances left to recall the other two.

Well... I would agree with you Adavidson100 about the eye accessing cues, but he only looked to the right after he told the fact. And in #3, yeah he was kinda smiling after he said it, so he may have been lying. but i'm not totally sure. I did notice however that his eyes blinked quite a bit more during fact 2 which may indicate that he was lying. So I'm gonna guess #2.

If NLP has any cred to it, this is what happened. Fact one, looked right, hesitated, looking right technically means you are creating an image instead of remembering.
Fact two, looked left. Fact three, looked left. The mind knows if the image you are trying to remember actually exists or not, if you have to construct it, technically you look to the right (opposite for lefties) but I would have yo check this towards your baseline first before I could come to a conclusion, but I would guess #1

I'm no Cal Lightman, but I say fact #3.
You paused for a bit when you were trying to describe the shootout as "scary". If it were true, you wouldn't need to search your memory for a good word to describe one of the most terrifying moments of your life. The fear after recalling of the memory would probably show on your face, as well.
Plus, the little smile at the end didn't help. It was like you didn't believe anything you just said. Am I right? This was fun. :D

I watch the show as well, but I have to disagree. Forgetting does not = lying. You can't "forget" something if it didn't happen in the first place. People do forget details to true events, and trying to remember them would cause someone to look away searching their thoughts. (See the Pilot Episode,toward the end, when Lightman asks the kid about is track times. The kid tries to remember the times, and he looks away, trying to answer truthfully.) I believe IG was constructing the third fact.
