They are normally arrested, then imprisoned for a month or something, after which they are released. Then the process is repeated. So they end up being locked up, released, locked up and released again and again. It isn't as harsh as the way some other countries deal with their conscientious onjectors, but that isn;t their fault.

I have noticed that there is much more debate and opposition about Israel's policies inside Israel than outside. If you are a Jew living in the US, UK or France, and you want to criticise you suffer tremendous intimidation including being branded "self hating Jew", being banned from synagogues, loosing friends etc. In Israel there is a real debate among intellectuals about the conditions of Israel's establishment and the birth of the Palestinian refugee problem, the occupation of WB etc.

They are normally arrested, then imprisoned for a month or something, after which they are released. Then the process is repeated. So they end up being locked up, released, locked up and released again and again. It isn't as harsh as the way some other countries deal with their conscientious onjectors, but that isn;t their fault.

Israel should be accused of crimes against humanity and tried at The Hague.
