You really have to admire a film like this that was made with very little money, but delivers such a powerful story with so much consideration for the dignity of the characters. The director of this film knew exactly what he was doing and he delivered the goods with a kick in the stomach so to speak.

im from america, got family living over in new zealand. i remember i came back in 96 and watched this at my aunts house and damn it scared the shit outta me. but years later, i hold this movie close to me its one of my favorite movies. the intensity, emotion and atmosphere all throughout the film is truly something, not many movies capture me like that. a damn classic, never get sick of it when i re-watch it. props for this classic.

Watching these clips om youtube is giving away much more of the movie than I am. when I went to the theater and saw this back in the 90's, I had no idea at all what the movie was about. For all I knew, it could have been a comedy. What a surprise! It's no comedy.
