Some people make the mistake of running a red light on the way to work. Some people forget to lock the door when they leave the house. This is an air show, they were not trying to show off. Out of probably the 10+ years they have been flying things are going to go wrong eventually. For all you know he sneezed.

the canopy has detonator charges lined in it, and when the pilot ejects, it goes BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM and the canopy shoots off, then the chair has a rocket on it, and pushes it out, just in case your in low altitude conditions. It also melts the secret electronics, so our enemies cant salvage them.

No that was the Mig-29 collision, a pretty fine display of coolness under pressure.

A lot of people here are having a go at the Russians but hey are fantastic pilots and the main reason they have so many incidents is that they really push their technology to the limits both in design and performance. The MiG-29 and Su-27 both took conventional aerodynamics to the limit and in some ways were superior to the aircraft deployed by NATO at the time of their design.
