  • Do you know where I can get hold of the orchestral parts for this? We would like to order a copy but don't know who the publisher or arranger is. Thanks

  • Hi: the orchestral score and parts are available on hire from the publishers, Chester Music. You can order it from the Chester Novello web-page. hope you manage to get hold of it. Cheers, D

  • Oooh, I must admit, this one of the better versions of this I have heard. I'm currently trying to learn this for my Advanced Higher Music exam... It's not going too well... My flute is awful leaky and can't get to the top notes well... I need to get it repaired. I'd love to go to a concert you guys do sometime, you sound amazing!

  • Hi: I hope your exam goes well / or went well. Its such a lovely piece and the orchestral version is very sympathetically done from the original piano part. Thanks. D

  • My former piano teacher was a student of Sir Lennox. Small world!

  • @awyliu : small world indeed.

  • hey this is really awesome!

but question - do you know if the orchestral accompaniment is accessible to everyone? like, can we buy it somewhere, or was it like custom-arranged for you?

  • Hi there - sorry for the late reply. Glad you enjoyed it..The orchestral accompaniment was arranged by Lennox Berkeley and is published by Chester Music - you can order it through them. Cheers - D.

  • of course - feel free to come along to a concert any time. D

  • Thank you. I loved your interpretation, the flow of your phrasing. I found it really beautiful. I'm a flute player too. I had never heard this played with an orchestra either. Beautiful arrangement.

    Warm regards

    José Luis (Argentina)

  • Many thanks José Luis, I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Its a very sympathetic orchestration which follows the piano part perfectly. cheers, D

  • Excellent stuff - congratulations! Well done indeed.

  • Thanking yoouh!! I'm so HAPPI!!

  • this is kind of nice...i've never heard it with an orchestral accompaniment before...

  • Cheers. Its quite a careful and faithful arrangement of the piano part, don't you think? It was Sir Lennox Berkeley who orchestrated it in 1973. Berkeley was a lifelong friend of Francis Poulenc and dedicated several works to him.
