  • This song... once you hear it... It's one of those songs that you just don't forget. It's beautiful, it's poignant, it's stunning, and more than of those things it's just DIFFERENT.

I love listening to this walking to school in the dark, winter mornings, with the snow glistening and the flakes soundlessly falling... Perfect piece.

  • For some strange reason, this song scares the shit out of me.

  • okay this was fucked.

  • @greenbastard50 Thank you.

  • off the air needs to come back with new episodes

  • Off the Air brought me here......glad i was able to find it though....awesome song

  • Thank you adultswim

  • Some tripy ass shit haha fucking adult swim ha

  • Hello random person reading this. Off the Air? Yeah me too.

  • @ProduceMan117 I'm confused... what's this about adult swim/off the air? o.0

  • @St0pTheNoise Search for "Off the Air - Space" and fast-forward it to about 8:25 in the video.

  • @ProduceMan117 Ah! Thanks. Haha.

  • Sublime

  • At 1:10, it is a real photo. It was taken in London in 1956. This is short story: A 15 or 16 year old girl had snapped something, then went crazy, then died. If you look up "London sad girl" that will come up. And one more thing, they have a picture with her in it, she was a ghost. D:

  • @babymclizzy Er, I see nothing for "London sad girl" but that sounds sadly interesting.

  • This song... there aren't words.

  • This has the ability to compose every joyous emotion and visual image within the mind into a song filled of beauty.

  • "It Amazes Me," ......... Blossom Dearie ! <3

  • @fusezhun yes.

  • I wonder who is the vocalist :O

  • @alolisa113

Les Balayeurs du désert are a French ambient post-rock band. The group is composed of Michel Augier (composition, vocals, guitar), Fatoumata Diawara (vocals), Fred Tanari (keyboards, bass, vocals), Jean Michel Bourroux (drums), Bruno Lerouzic (pipes), Gram Maby (bass), Camilla Sagues (chorus) and Marcela Paz (chorus)[1].

It's amazing what you can find on the internet when you use a search engine properly.

Also... Les Balayeurs Du Desert means "The Desert Sweepers."

  • @St0pTheNoise Oh wow thanks !

  • @St0pTheNoise Someone put the original song the voice was taken from onto the "Little Girl Giant" link. And the voice is taken from "It Amazes Me" by Blossom Dearie.

  • @PyrozPlayground Did not know that, thanks.

  • @alolisa113 blossom dearie

  • anyone know the artwork at 1:09?

  • This song change my life. . .

    something. . .

  • Fantastic video - Brilliant song I have been looking for this for four years, so thanks a lot.

  • cool beat..NOT FOR U FAGGOT EMOS AND GOTHS!

  • This is beautiful! <3

  • I have always been interested in marionettes, so when I watched The Sultans Elephant my heart was warmed. The clip was just beautiful... however, the music (your song) that accompaned the clip was more captivating than the video. Can't listen to Decollage enough to satisfy my mind.

  • T O P !!! without any words.....

  • the song is a bit dodgy

  • creepy but beautiful O___o

  • All of the lyrics are from a Tony Bennet song. I much prefer them in this.

  • Great song. Reminds me of tracks from Bent.

  • Great song

  • Yes, great song, the hypnotic rythm takes you to a trance...

  • I agree! In my opinion, it's a dream... Have you seen "Royal de Luxe (Decollage - Balayeurs du Desert)"? It's worth seeing!

    =3

Respite - a pause for relaxation.

  • dude im going to put that song on one of my cds its great.sweet pictures.thats what im going to listen to every night.lol

  • bleh...creepy song...et aussi, repetitif

  • the music isnt creepy its weird and different which is awesome

  • I love this, very haunting.

The woman singing is actually sampled from another, older, song.

  • INTRIGUING . Melancholy, grotesque, and beautiful. My hat is off to you!

  • OMG

  • I saw this on another website and just had to see the original author's work. This is amazing art - please, never take this down.

  • Well thank you.

What website did you see this on? Just curious.

  • The only "emo" thing was the "I want to be pretty" picture at 13 seconds in.

My intent was never "emo" and quite honestly I'm not sure I'm capable of "emo" since I'm not some hair-flipping fuck-tard.

  • i love you for saying that XD that was hillarious

  • wow i love this song !!!

and the pictures just add to the creepy feeling XD

    great job !

  • I so love contrast in this. Thanks for making this.

  • These somewhat creepy images really add to the song.

This seems like such a "Horror-ish" song (In a good way). Imagine listening to this, in the dark, with a pair of red eyes looking at you through a window.

  • Haha, well then... I'm glad you enjoyed it? =P

  • Yes, I did.

  • In the dark listening to this i think i would find it almost trance induceing. something you could meditate to with the assistance of a select fungis. lol

  • Simply fantastic - I love how your collage of images add a different (deeper) layer of meaning to the music. Makes it so interesting.

  • LOL quite amazing and wonderfull. Highly enjoyable.

  • Yeah, I just found those lyrics. I searched high and low at first for them when I made this but I wasn't able to find anything on it- it left room for my full interpretation of it.

The original song seems sweet- but this version of it seems like it could be talking about repression. Somehow the solemn undertones of the voice and the arrangement of it all points to it not really being "lovey"

  • y r u trying 2 make this song emo

  • Y r u typing like u r gangsta?

  • i did not realize that my typing signifies as gangster i didn't know any one could type gangster or there was a category for typing that's good to know for future reference don't wanna step on any real gangster toes

  • This wasn't "emo" anyway.

In my view it was about the oppression of women.

I saw it as a woman who was singing to the guy she loves who happens to be very 'manly' and lives by "women belong in a kitchen, go make me a sandwich bitch"

This is in no way emo.

    This is art.

Learn the difference between the two before you continue to pollute youtube with your asinine comments.

  • If you're not going for emo, then why is Emo a tag for this video?

  • Emo doesn't always mean EMO KIDS

    This is an EMO-tional song.

But other than that- sometimes I type CHRIS CROCKER as a tag... it doesn't mean much.

A click is a click is a view is still a view, is it not?

  • If this is in no way emo why add the words 'emo' in the tags why not use other tags with a more direct association, there must be plenty of historical references to women being oppressed you could apply in there, then you would have the right crowd turning up to watch :), and no emo's or emo haters for whom you say this video isn't aimed. What is an emo anyway? haha

  • Because I know some emo kid would enjoy it, but my intent wasn't to emo-fy it.

This was my artistic interpretation of this video. Yes, I'm a little morbid I suppose...

but I promise- I don't part my hair to the side and flip it every two seconds as if I have some sort of nervous tick.

  • I love this video. Does the artist realise the depth of soul that is pierced by watching it. It is as if she has given a voice, and pictures to all the pain hidden inside. The images are powerful, and disturbing. The music chosen is haunting. Thank you for this.

  • this was very beautiful, I really enjoyed it :)

  • very welcome.

  • i would love to have the talent of the Artist that created the depth that reaches.

  • That's sweet, you made my day.

    Thanks love <3

  • beautiful video.... a little depressing, but beautiful.

  • This video fits perfectly, I love it. Well done :)

  • EnGor- Quit trolling.

  • And I noticed you are the same after viewing your channel. Good luck to you or gore to you, what ever language of misery you bathe in.

  • Never thought I'd ever meet somebody with no life but the internet will always prove you wrong. :)

  • I'm super obsessed with this song. I just listened to the whole CD and its so different, so colorful, I really like it.

  • Very eerie, beautiful song.. musical arrangement sounds like something Boards of Canada would do.. and I love the vocal..

  • to bad its not in color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I did it in black and white on purpose, I find with the absence of color you focus more on the dark and light of objects.

It gives them all the more mystery, too.

  • Awesome

  • The slid show went extremely well with the song. Well done!!

  • nicely morbid..so gets me there where i am really now....

    greetings!

  • This is just splendid.... What a beautiful accompaniment to this song. :)

  • Masterpiece. Thanks for it. Greetings from Germany.

  • They sampled the lyrics from Blossom Dearie's rendition of It Amazes Me. I desperately hope that the authors of this song have given credit where it is due.

  • huuuu that scary is like silent hill momie

  • interesting .. but quite disturbing too

  • very moving... beautifully done.

  • love this song, but this looks like it was told from a young female point of view.

  • This beautiful bit of music really makes me happy

  • this is 'Dark' is very beauty, is style gothic, is very beauty.

  • Very well done, BTW! Kudos.

  • this is weird.....

  • grotesquely beautiful, disturbing yet visually appealing.

excellent work! you fit the pictures to this song very well. and alien hunter, if you honestly think people in our society aren't being repressed, you must be blind to the world around you. open your eyes! people face this every day! open your eyes people! if you think our world, our society, is perfect, you're oblivious!

    ignorance must be bliss.

  • Disturbingly Beautiful!

  • This is beautiful.

    I completely disagree with alienhunter.

Not everyone can choose how they want to live without judgment. To not be aware of how many people are still oppressed is deeply disturbing to me.

  • Hey I want to say I now get what stopthenoise is saying. I just wanted to know who is repressing themselves in society that you are talking about?

We don't have slavery and everyone chooses how they want to live with out judgement so who is oppressed?

    good luck to you.

  • -but evidentally, he does not agree (etc) but, I've learned to clip my wings, and soften my ways.

Women. It's a woman singing, women is the topic. Repression is around for women, even if we are "equals" to some old fashioned guys we are nothing more than maids or housewives built to cook, clean, and breed.

  • Wait. Who told you we don't have Slavery? We most certainly do have Slavery in the World, even in this country (U.S.A.). It's totally Illegal, sure, but so illicit, it's hard to track and stop. Often, it's called Human Trafficking now. What do you think Slavery is about? Cotton plantations before 1865? The Gov't is well aware of the problem and many reports on this are available. It's still out there!

  • morbid -- ok I said it this crap and I mean crap is morbid-- when the brain dies inside of a living persons head this is what you get. NO No its like watching a dead persons acid trip. It has no redeeming value to anyone, and if you relate to it what the hell happened to you. Sorry just honesty

  • That actually made me laugh.

I guess I AM morbid, when I heard this song, this is what I envisioned.

I saw it as more of the emotions that someone who is forced to repress themselves and be someone they really aren't.

"I've learned to clip my wings, and soften my ways"

And... with that, I picked more angry/disturbing/sad/old photos, the kind that makes your chest want to implode.

You really aren't supposed to relate to this... not unless you've been repressed and such.

  • But anyone can relate to it, that's what makes it attractive. What endears us to this song. Most of us in touch of with our feelings and experiences have suffered pain and loss, bittersweet joys. The awakened awareness of our own Mortality and those we care about and love. I mean, I hope most of us still do. Otherwise this song is even sadder sounding.

    Memento mori.

  • You need to take a chill pill AlienHunterosUSA, not everyone in the world thinks the world is 'super' and surfs on a rainbow made of candy.

  • never thought i could appreciate such music.. this is good

  • Thanks, but what do you mean "such music" ? lol

  • Very Strange and impressive too. And the band is great!

  • Fucking beautiful.

  • Aw, thank you =)

  • one of the best bands nobody knows about
