When Jesus was on the Cross He said "IT IS FINISHED' I understand that to mean His substitutionary work was done. He doesnt have to be offered up time and again. nothing we do on our own can please God. Only when we are in Christ and depend on His finished work,Repent of our sins , live with Him being Lord of our life by the power af the Helper. Trust in Christ by the instruction of His Word . Not in ritual, praying to the dead, repettative prayers, or depending on works
He is not being offered again and again. His sacrifice is the sacrifice foretold by Malachi and pointed to by Melchizededk and the ancient Temple sacrifices. The sacrifice of Calvary is re-presented to the Father; the Catholic belief is that the congregation is literally transported back in time to view that saving sacrifice when it is offered, in an unbloody manner, through bread and wine.
@bigbadwolff1 St. Paul the Apostle tells us to keep all our traditions handed down to us, Jesus himself teaches us the Lord's Prayer (which is to be repeated), and the Bible tells us to do good works, for if we do no works we have no faith. Christ died for our sins, and the mass is our offering up him to the Father, so we may indeed be forgiven.
@CJCappella Did you ever think that maybe the people in your parish don't have money for designer suits or something? Even people who seem like they have money because they own house and have a job are suffering in this economy and wearing hand me downs
Very Nice, i love all of the Glorias an dMelodic Gloria by Chepponis, just seemed to drag a little, When we use this for Christmas/Easter Masses it is at a higher tempo \.
Press the 'Alt' key and keep your finger on it, then on the numbers keypad on the far right hand side of the keyboard, type the numbers 0134, and see the result.
You may also realise that, if you repeat the same sequence and type other numbers, other characters will result.
I recognize this Gloria-it's composed by Chepponois, and we used to sing it at Christmas and the Easter Triduum at St. Agahta's parish in Milton, Mass.
we sang this version before and I loved it.

@guzek6 No. This is the Melodic Gloria by James Chepponis. It is not from a full Mass Setting.

Very nice. They really didn't need a cantor. The choir accomplishes everything. A nice sounding choir.

Why doesn't anyone smile or move around? You're singing Glory to God in the Highest, after all. Lighten up a bit. Y'all look like the pope just died.
