Although Bill Steer is my favorite guitarist, I absolutely love Mike's solo work on this one, especially the breakdown first solo near the end, with the harmonic sliding and pull-offs leading into it. Classic.
I think this might be my favorite Carcass too, even though it gets less attention than Heartwork and No Love Lost on this album. Excellent mix of catchy, unexpected riffs, stellar musicianship, and a perfect compromise between their early grindcore stuff and later poppy stuff.
Best Carcass album along with Necroticism, Carcass IS Michael Amott, It was crap before he came in and became crap again as soon as he left. Now Carcass still live today in Arch Enemy.
@butchered666 Yes. All good albums leading up to this absolute classic. There's nothing wrong with musical progression; especially when it culminates into something like Heartwork. The icing on the cake is when pisses off the lame scene losers, who typically cry "sell-outs" because they can't stand it when a band creates music for themselves on THEIR terms...
